Rich, your work recording the amazing work of the Seekers is really excellent and historically very very important IMHO. Without people like you and Denny, who spend many many hours looking out high quality audio, cleaning it up and matching it with great video, and making it available to us all, this wonderful band might slip into history without the recognition it really deserves from lovers of angelic voices (JUDITH!), wonderful harmonies (Keith!), and heart-wrenching songs (Tom, Bruce, and others). Thank you, Sir... just... thank you!!!

It was a shock no prior heart problems not over weight just going along then one friday she says I've got a pain in my chest I took her to the hospital straight way she had had a small heart attack but the hospital said she would be fine and they would send her to a bigger metropolitan hospital on monday. So we thought everything was fine these days stents and such things are a normal procedure..come saturday Im doing what i'm doing on the farm and the kids went in to see her.She was sitting up fine and dandy.I was going in to see her in the afternoon. I was on the tractor and got a phone call from the hospital from the persons tone of voice I knew things we grim..I jumped in the truck n flew into town A few hours earlier she had told the kids to go as she was feeling tired and wanted a nap. While she was asleep she had a massive heart attack the worst sort that kills the heart muscle. The hospital did their best but to no avail. She was being kept alive by machines so I told the dr to unplug everything which they did except for the heart monitor and I watched her heart slowly slow down and stop...that flat line sound will stay with me forever.. I wrote about this in other comment. They were having an absolutely fantastic turn of year from 1966 to 1967, including a Royal Gala presentation at the Palladium in London and the 200,000 people concert in Sydney on March 1967. Then, having the unique opportunity of a 100 million people tv audience in America they simply turned down the April 1967 appearance in the Oscar presentation where they would sing the n.1 hit Georgy Girl. If they only had done that all doors of America would be opened for them, but fate decided other way.

Every now and then a band comes along with 'that' sound. The right time and place. It's a shame Judith decided to leave the group just as their star was shining. How many other fantastic songs were not made. And none of them had the stella success the band had. Still, anytime I'm feeling down or things are bad, I just play some of the Seekers and all my troubles seem to disappear.

Judith was interviewed on ABC Radio, here in Melbourne, about ten years ago. I was driving around for my job and listening to the interview. Out of the blue, Jon Faine, the interviewer, asked her to sing. I can't remember the song she sang, but I do remember I had to pull my car over to the side of the road, because I couldn't see through the tears. Her unaccompanied voice made me think that sometimes our mob (humans) are capable of great things. Maybe it's to experience this that is our reason to be here.
Judith's difficulties in getting around are as a result of an horrendous car crash she had a while back. Did not affect her voice one jot.

Odd that no one has mentioned Tom Springfield (brother of Dusty) who wrote the songs made immortal by the Seekers. Incredibly, Tom passed away in July 2022 just a few weeks before Judith. Now the two of them are making heaven even sweeter. Here's to you both may you rest in peace..

I am now 66yo, but when I was 12yo I loved the Seekers. Since then no one has surpassed their catalogue of songs. I am blessed to hear them on the radio.

I saw the Seekers perform at the Mission estate winery, in Napier NewZealand back in about 2001.

The world would never have sopranos doing pop as well as judith durham and agnetta falskog. They are beyond compare. The pitch, tone, and clarity of voice are incredible from these two singers.

I came of age listening to this group. "Another you" is likely my most favourite song. It evokes so much emotion, every time I listen to it. Timeless !
