The Seekers - I'll never find another you (1968)

- From The Seekers farewell concert July 7 1968 at the BBC in London.
The last time they sang this song as a group in the sixties.
I hope these few videos give you good memories and can help to keep
their songs and music alive. We can not let them be forgotten.
I'll never find another you is composed by Tom Springfield and was recorded at Abbey Road studioes in London november 4 1964.
"I'll never find another you" was to become their first number one hit in the UK 1965.
And by the way,Judith overslept and got late to the studio that day :)
I'll Never Find Another You
There's a new world somewhere they call the promised land,
And I'll be there someday if you will hold my hand.
I still need you there beside me, no matter what I do,
For I know I'll never find another you.
There is always someone for each of us they say,
And you'll be my someone forever and a day.
I could search the whole world over until my life is through,
But I know I'll never find another you.
It's a long, long journey, so stay by my side.
When I walk through the storm, you'll be my guide, be my guide.
If they gave me a fortune, my pleasure would be small;
I could lose it all tomorrow and never mind at all.
But if I should lose your love dear, I don't know what I'd do,
For I know I'll never find another you.
(Instrumental bridge with wordless vocals)
But if I should lose your love dear, I don't know what I'd do,
For I know I'll never find another you.
Another you,
Another you.
Tom Springfield 1964?
So very sad news to hear today.Judith Durham, the singer in The Seekers died yesterday August 5,aged 79.Farewell and thanks for sharing your gift with all of us dear Judith. The songs will always be with us and you will be loved and remembered for ever.Thoughts go to your sister Beverley and family and also to the boys,Bruce,Athol and Keith.
The sad news has made headlines around Australia tonight. RIP Judith Durham 🇦🇺🦘♥️
Brings me sadness 😪
❤️
Surely, JD will be long missed!
1 year gone..rip Judith ❤
Judith Durham’s voice is from out of this world
Absolutely fantastic !!☘️
Totally angelic. Look up The Seekers singing "When The Stars Begin To Fall" on UA-cam. You'll hear her effortlessly and flawlessly hit a high note fairly late in the song that'll bring tears to your eyes. Such an incredible voice.
One of the few lucky singers whose voice rang like a bell.
She ranks up there next to Mama Cass! RIP They're both making some great music for us for when we join them!
an angel, then and now
Judith may have left us, but her beautiful voice will resonate across the globe for ever.
The beauty of this song is beyond words. Anyone who has ever loved and or lost now has this song etched deep into their soul. Every so often there are events that touch us deeply, this masterpiece is clearly among the best.
Judith's voice is on another level than any female singer I've ever heard
They have a huge a respect for each other.
…and it just seems effortless. I am a big Beatles fan, but back around ‘65 Ivwas so disappointed when the focus shifted from Folk and it seemed the Seekers disappeared just as the Beatles took off. I missed them then and now with Judith’s passing I miss them again. I’m a better person when hearing this song.
I am 75 years old and could still remember the words and sing along. Unforgettable!
I am 70 now and couldn't agree with you more!
73 here. I agree.
the music, you loved in the age of 15 will always be on top !!
heard it first on pirat radios in the north sea ...
love it at the age of 72
best wishes to Bryan ... have a nice day!
68 now at 2023, I could still remember this song first listen in 1968/69😢😢
Two acoustic guitars. An acoustic bass. And four human voices. Thats all you need to make wonderful music that will outlive all of us. Imagine the simplicity of this concept.
You made the perfect observations about Judith and the boys.
Does anyone else love Judith Durham?
Judith’s voice just always makes me indescribably happy.
Rest in peace, Angel. You made this world so much more beautiful for being here.
R. I. P. so long Dear angel 🎉😢🎉🎉
@@mcsang7781 pure vocal
My God, I love this song!!! I live alone n
Im 71 but still love listening to them!
I'm with you! 👍🏴
RIP Judith. We will never find another you!
Why do we have to go back almost 50 years to listen to uplifting music?
Because you don’t know how to use the internet to discover new uplifting music.
@@joehumeas7196 Really? Then tell us where this type of modern music exists. You are the expert.
@@vincentfisher1603 I’m no expert. Just a person who loves music from all decades. Listen to the radio, check Spotify, ask friends, etc. Obviously everyone is going to have different music tastes, but there is tons of new “uplifting” music out there. Check out Green Day’s “Still Breathing”. I would consider it “uplifting”.
Same here. Today's music is always about someone being angry.
Go ahead and tell something different.
@@joehumeas7196 Well, your response was one of an "expert". The Seekers was a group from another time period that I grew up in. I was born in 1955 and have experienced music from many eras (I love the 80s).
I know how to use the internet and you can shove your snide remark you know where.
RIP, Judith. We’ll never find another you.
And we will never find another you Judith!. Thank you for the music and memories, RIP
Amen to that.
The voice of an angel. When Judith sings "I could lose it all tomorrow" at 1:27, it's absolutely perfect. Sigh....
God she has a gorgeous voice. As pure as Crystal. Sends
shivers down my spine.
27th sep 2021 i am listening to this great song love ❤️ the seekers. I still listen to there songs
Judith Durham was a very wonderful Singer, she and her group "The Seekers" gave the World several very great songs. R.I.P. Judith Durham, you will be greatly missed.
I was a young boy when I heard this song.. and now that I find this video, I feel my heart ache and my eyes moisten.
same here
Judith had, and still has, a pitch-perfect voice whether on record or in live performances, which was and is VERY, VERY rare. Combined with the excellent harmonic abilities of the 3 Blokes, a brilliant band.
Judith has the most beautiful voice.
so long as she stays clear of mind altering drugs skunk weed and ham sandwiches she'll be ok , but yes lovely voice , great era for music, and it freaks me out.
heighwaysonthewing what are you talking about ?
My wife's name is Judith, and I agree, she has the most wonderful voice! 😍
Amen.
That’s true
On her 77th birthday today... listening to the Seekers for probably the millionth time
One in a billion voice. Clear as a bell.
RIP to one of the most beautiful voices.
Today is the 5th anniversary of my wife's death. Dear Seekers, you have comforted in such a great deal. The Lord abundantly bless you all!
My Heartfelt Condolences
Where have all the 1960's hit makers gone - we so desperately need them in the 2020's
I know. Feeling such a sense of nostalgia...
not nostalgia - just great music that resonates even today
Missing my Mom so much in this season especially SHE loved this song Rip Mama till we met again 😢♥️
Judith Durham was blessed with a bell tone voice; crystal clear, pure and intoxicating. Then she blessed the world with her gift of song....
I truly appreciate their music more today than I did in the 60's. One of the best folk-rock groups.
I feel very privileged to have been old enough to listen to and appreciate wonderful songs like this.
Every time I hear the Seekers chills run up my spine. The first time I heard them was in early 1965 as my ship was enroute to Sydney, Australia after spending the better part of a year cruising Oceana; Guam, the Mariana Islands, Bonan Islands, Caroline Islands, north to just south of Adak, Alaska, Midway Island and Japan.
I will miss Judith. What an amazingly talented group the Seekers are.
We'll never find another Seekers. A perfect song by the best group ever!
Happy birthday Judith, hope you have a nice day and a good cake.We all love you so much.Take care and be safe from the covid.
A song for the ages. Beyond incredible. Just something about it. Came out when I was 7. Sounds just as good today 55 years later. No laser light show, spotlights or strobes or fog and explosions. Not necessary
Her voice is so great in this song that it almost makes me weep.
One of the best voices of all time
I am lost in the sixties and will stay there forever. No music compares to the 60's.
Me to and Amen
80s
Jeff Bailey "Dig It"...still lost ...somewhere in the 60's what I think of as "My Space" been 50 yrs since I got out
Of the mitilary married to the same woman for 43 yrs raised a beautiful family what more is there to "Life
Itself??? Sit back, take a deep breath an ask ones self... "TIME"....Where Did you Go...seems like just like
Yesterday!!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️🤗🤗🤗🇺🇸🦅🆒
@@teddanyluk4602 I also am lost in the 60's and 70's. The best music. Military during the whole 80's. When in before Reagan was sworn in as President, came out Bush 41 was President. Still learning stuff I missed during the 80's. I didn't even know Reagan had been shot until many months after the fact.
Me too but don't you think that it's too sad music? Beautiful, so beautiful but sad. Love it. :)
RIP Judith , I listen to seekers songs over and over, you have the most beautiful voice and you were fantasy material for male fans all over the world. Fortunately your beautiful voice and face will live forever on UA-cam, CDs, and in higher quality sound on records and cassettes, thank you for the music.
Just found out about Judith. Voices like this don’t come along every day. No astonishing ranges, technical riffs, intricate articulations, but a very unusually pure tone. A perfect “girl.”
The year I got drafted into the military Army to be precise. Judith was so beautiful but my mind was on going to Vietnam. I survived and now I am going back in time to the music I loved. How sweet it is. Kevin. 101st Airborne Infantry 68/69 Vietnam.
kevin Quinn Thank you for serving sir!
Welcome Home Bro.
Thank you for your service sir
Bless you Kevin.
Thankyou for sharing that connection. God Bless.
How can you not shed a tear listening to this beautiful song.
Nearly 9.3 million people (as of this date) still have superb taste in music. This gives me some hope for our culture in the future.
This song wil live for ever . so beautiful. so lovingly superb. I was born little boy in 1966 and i hear the songs from the radio such as this. I loved to hear the beautiful songs I still do.
this never gets old, truly timeless
I saw them perform a couple of nights ago in Adelaide for the 50th Anniversary Tour. Absolutely incredible! How is it possible for Judith at 70 to have a voice as good now as in the 1960's ? None better!
This reminds me of one couple because they decided a long time ago not to do without the other. The very type of people who went down in the Titanic together because one wouldn't live without the other. What an amazing love that must have been. This song is so very soft to most ears, but when you get the real message of it, it really is a powerful song and a loving one too.It took me years to understand this song, now I do .
I cannot picture or imagine any other female singing this song. Judith is just so perfect!!
What a beautiful woman she was and what a beautiful voice she has
Her voice like this song, is timeless.
No matter how many years pass, hearing this song, the years fall away, back to a gentler, golden time.
Her voice could melt bricks.
nostalgia for your youth maybe ? Vietnam, biafra, Bangladesh, apartheid, Soviet occupation of eastern Europe. Altamont etc.
Keith Bate Retos superados!!!
Arión Theobaldo "really" ?
Keith Bate lol see my reply to your comment! Or just ignore like last time hey! :- ))))
I've traversed the deepest depths of experimental jazz and mind expanding rock but The Seekers still give me delight. I still have a crush on Judith too.
Judith will now sing for the angels and for Jesus, hallelujah! RIP Judith
How Judith can routinely be left of lists of the top all time female singers just shows how limited are the creators of those lists. Here she sings with perfect pitch in a live setting. On top of it all, there was the pressure of their break-up and final performance that night.
Wow! Pure music. No computer generated sounds, people playing instruments. What an era!
Judith probably had the greatest voice in the history of popular music. And she just sings. She does not prance around the stage showing off her talent like she is go'd's gift. She had humility in addition to the voice of an angel.
Rita
You are so right -- Judith is awesome !!!! I am 85 years old and I could listen to Judith and the other Seekers all day long. Voices are amazing ....
She certainly had an amazing and one of a kind voice. And if people under 50 were to wstch this they would probably ask ehat that guy on the right was doing with/to the gigantic unknown instrument in his hands.
I was born in 1950 and I love classic rock n roll, blues rock. folk rock, psychodelic, metal, hard rock and acid rock. I also like jazz, motown, and oldies, and this is most certainly one of the most golden of oldies, imho.
Thanks for the post.
Check out Madden Pryor. Gorgeous voice.
@@BertSmithLondon Agreed . . . Judith Durham and Karen Carpenter are the two most amazing female voices of the rock era . . and whoever is in third place is nowhere to be seen.
Ah, yes, you must be referring to highly entertaining and praised stage shows like Beyonce`. Where the only thing missing is that Big Brass Pole to dance up and down on, and a group of men with sullied beer-stained shirts and a fist-full of old and crumpled $1 bills in their hand drooling at the opportunity to stick one under Beyonce`s g-string. What a class act.
Judith did have an awesome voice ...such a lovely lady.
There will never be another singer like Judith. Memories of my crush on her.
This brings back memories of sitting in front of the TV watching this when I was but a boy. :)
What an enduring, endearing, sweetie she was - and is still.
Such a massive voice from such a small lady
she is awesome mate.
Pure magic in her voice is unbelievable beautiful Judith is my favorite
Music like this doesn't grow old. I do believe it will stand the test of time. Great song from the 60s. Never hear this type of singing anymore. Today it's mostly a joke.
Yes indeed, a BAD joke even, where has all the talent gone,? Long time passing!!!
Born in the 50's, grew up with this music! I love this song!
This phenomenal group wer just made for each other , like the parts of a jigsaw they fit together perfectly ..... what a singer Judith was.
I play this song everyday just to listen to Judith her voice is probably the greatest female voice ever even today her voice is still perfect
Yesterday in the ICU, my first words to my someone, was, 'You're beautiful." He was pink and flushed, not the pale, ashen grey he'd been lately..... It was the first step in what will be a long and difficult recovery from emergency open heart surgery..... I held my cell to his ear and played this...... still sedated, trach tube and wires, tubes coming out of his chest, wires and machines ..... he was aware on some level, could hear this and eyes fluttered and he moved the fingers of the hand I held....... They began to ease him back from the ventilator and slowly help his lungs to start working on their own.
We knew going in that his would be a higher risk than open heart surgery is because of his many other chronic health issues...... But as always, over all these years, he made the choice to accept the risk and together we would see this through.
This morning he didn't first realize he'd already had his surgery --- This was expected and truly, you don't want to recall the trauma of such an intense surgery. He'll be bound by wires and tubes and lines for a few more days as he begins his long journey back to health, but each day will be one step closer to coming home.
He is my breath, my laughter, my tears, my joy, my harbor.
"..............It's a long, long journey, so stay by my side.
When I walk through the storm, you'll be my guide, be my guide."
In 1966, I met my high school sweetheart. We were married in February of 1970, and have been together ever since. They say “you grow together as one,” and that is certainly true in our case. I know I could never find another love as I have found in my wife. She is not only my wife, but my best friend. Love you sweetheart, we’re coming up on fifty years, and I’m still in love with you.
Happy golden anniversary! I hope you and your bride have many more.
Beautiful . I love , love 🥺. I pray you continue to have more loving years together ❤️
@@deannagonzalez2754 Thank you Deanna. Unfortunately, my bride passed away October 12th of this year. We did celebrate 50+ years of wonderful marriage together. There’s no comparison to losing a parent to losing a spouse, especially when your spouse is also your best friend.
,Remember dancing to this as a child, with my late mother, and pointing our index fingers at each other,as we did.I still have her very same L.P. Ah,those happy, blissful days of the sixties,so many wonderful memories, never to be forgotten.!!
I graduated in 68
and this song was a
Biggie and a tear jerker for me. I love
this song and the memories it brings back.
The number of views here is even more proof that the Seekers are one of the most loved groups ever.
Their music never gets old.
An Absolutely Wonderful Performance done live by an Exceptional Music Group, They were Superb!!!!!
Never before had I heard such a beautiful voice and seriously doubt I ever will again. She's made me believe in angels.
What a beautiful voice !
60,s folk music ,you gotta love it
Love you Judith since i was a boy up to my senior years now. You will always be my angel.
This has been a very hard week 😪 for the beautiful voices that have been silenced. Australia is mourning with the rest of the world! "For I know I'll never find another you".... GODSPEED, beautiful Judith! Heaven receives two beautiful voices this week!
I know we will never find another Seekers and Judith!
I was 8 and still love it so much.Music like that never gets old and never dies.
Truth Indeed
The voices of the 60''-70's sound much richer than the voices of today.
Thank you!!!!I was not born when it was sung, but I really liked this song!!!!
How can anyone not like this music make's you feel good,
Every female who aspires to show business should look at Judith Durham for a role model. Thoroughly classy, respectable, sweet, feminine, lovely in every way, both on the stage and off.
Judith Durham with that unmistakable bell tone to her voice was the heart and soul of the Seekers.
+tosius2 I've been a fan since the 60s.
Just simply one of the all time great songs from a golden age. When romance really meant something.
How in bloody hell can 1,500 people dislike this song???? Judith Durham has a beautiful voice.
Judith's beautiful voice, and the harmonies....it doesn't get much better than this. I can watch this one over and over again.
I do .
Judith has such a magical voice
I loved this song, Steven died of small Cell lung Cancer in 2015 and it is just a constant reminder how much I live and miss him and the life we shared together. I have the music and the special memories.
Judith was beautiful!! I was a 18 year old Marine a long way from home and I was in love with Judith.
GREAT MEMORIES!😎👊🏻👊🏻
I'm 67 now, a retired bassist. I actually start tearing behind my glasses in the Starbux every time I play this. Why did it have to disappear ! We were all so friendly then, in love with life itself, making peace, playing guitars, patchouli and incense filling the air, The Beatles, Dylan, the Seekers, Pete Seeger, "Red Rubber Ball", "Blowin' in the Wind", love ins, Whole Earth Catalog, VWs, boys' first long hair, bell bottoms. "Georgy Girl" ...Thus, I know now I'll never find another Seekers in this digital web we've spun around us all !!
Mark Harris It was a time of love, Mark. But it was also a time of shedding our Christian underpinnings. That's where it went bad. Once a persons moral way is lost, anything that feels good goes. Unfortunately, we now see the results. That was what our parents were trying to tell us back then. I think ole Mick told them all to fade away. Well, now we got sex, drugs and rock and roll. unfiltered, unbridled, A real lose of love and innocence.
And we also had John Lennon's "Imagine" . That's my religion. I never did shed my Christian underpinnings. I'm Jewish. Well, actually more Lennonish..
Mark Harris Mark, I am with you man. I can't listen to this wonderful lady's voice without tearing up. She has a birthday next week and I hope a lot of folks will remember her. Certainly the voice of an angel.
Mark Harris Just as I feel. All of the seeds of promise of Peace and Love for each other that some were trying to establish were trampled underfoot in the race to get ahead of our fellowman. SO, SO SAD that they never had a chance to grow. Just trying to keep the 'Cone of Peace' over my family and home.
Mark Harris I too feel the same as everyone else, with thoughts of a long time ago but maybe it is only memories of our youth and the young today will also look back in 50 years time with equally fond memories?
Happy birthday Judith, hope you have a wonderful day.All your fans around the world will be thinking of you.Take care.We love you always.
Well said and very true
Wiping and tears away listening to this song on the day Judith died. takes me back to my childhood
It's been said before and I'll say it again: They just don't make em like this anymore. And that is a real shame. Thumbs up (and a quick prayer for the vacant people who gave this stellar song a thumbs down.)
Saw Judith interviewed recently and you can see it in her face, when the audience start clapping at the beginning of the song she smiles as if to say "wondered whether I was good enough" You certainly were and still are Judith, you have a unique and beautiful voice...Love The Seekers
Well said my friend!!!
One of the Best groups of all time, mainly because of Judith Durham, she had a magnificent voice, one of the Best Ever !!
This song warms my heart. And forever!
Pure talent. No drum machine needed. Simple pure and natural sound. Easy on the ears.
Yes indeed, you are exactly right, NO synthetic Drum machine, Voice enhancers or Pre-uned Guitar sounds, just pure music as it was written and voiced.
I get a little choked up whenever i hear this beautiful bittersweet song.
No other song expresses with more depth of emotion the bittersweet ecstacy of love....
I must have watched this rendition 100 times + and every time I find myself astonished as if it were the first ever. Never in music a beautiful lady singer has been capable to make a love declaration so sentimental and convincing in her expression and body language as Judith does between 1:35 and 1:50. I think this rendition has magic in it.
In 1968, I was 15, in 1970 I got married at 16, husband was 18, went to Vietnam! I grew up fast! Wish todays kids would be a kid as long as they can!
Classic to hear again after all these years. My Daddy loved this.
