From what I heard/seen, it's better than AC Odyssey so at least they got better lol. That was the last AC game I played and my god I still feel insulted as a gamer that they would release that in the same month as RDR2. Shame too because the world in AC odyssey was the most beautiful and interesting I've seen in a game but that was the only good thing about it lmao.
But yeah seems like AC is just doomed at this point. Shame since I used to love the older games.

@@DKOIsoul I guess it comes down to preference then because I see a lot of hate for odyssey saying it’s not the same as og stealth which is correct it was better, parkour was decent definitely should’ve been better but in odyssey combat felt smooth, gear customization was the best it has still ever been, along with odyssey arguably having the most aesthetically pleasing world/art. Again it comes down to preference but anyone who says it’s the “worst” ac game or that “you were offended by it” clearly did not actually play it. Multiple people who started out hating it played it for 100+ hours and said it really wasn’t bad at all.

The rebellion is extra funny when you remember that Assassin's Creed's (you know, the FIRST game from 2007) final basically had you sieging the Masyaf Castle and it actually looked like an assault on a castle. It's impressive how they managed to make a game worse in 16 years lol.

Wdym awesome combat? It's just counter spam nothing special and the stealth in ac2 and acb sucks, can't even throw smoke bombs and it's the most basic stealth I've ever seen
I'm impressed Zanny was able to use his eagle to tag enemies instead of having it instantly rendered useless by a marksman on a faraway tower that would require working one's way through the whole fortress to get to, rendering the eagle obsolete in an attempt to regain the ability to use it
I personally liked this made me feel like I had to do more “risks” than a layed out plan. And I’d have to make the plan while in the middle of enemy lines. Especially in this game where it feels like there’s only 2 full new routes do for each place

combat is good you just werent playing on hardest difficulty. it says in the guide book you have to cover your controller in olive oil and invert the controls for a truly challenging and satisfying experience. hope this helps.

Jokes aside, when playing in the hardest difficulty the enemies no longer get "killable" after only one parry, it's WAY better and combat against several guys become more challenging. It's pretty sad to only get an interesting gameplay by switching up difficulty but it's also sad to see ppl talk shit about "combat too easy wtf" when there's a simple solution to it.

They complain about the combat not having combos, AC 2 and Brotherhood debatably had even LESS combos and had more of a one hit wonder combat system like Mirage. They complain about how many bugs there are, Black Flag also had a shit ton of bugs that Ubisoft didn’t fix but the fans ignored them. It gets to the point where AC fans might deadass be worse than Bethesda fans in terms of validating something they don’t want.

I got absolutely nerd raged at by a fan boy for pointing out that the explanation for basim's chain assassination being that he is a reincarnation of Loki wasn't only completely ungrounded and more sci-fi bs that doesn't fit well but also only makes old school fans (whom this game was marketed to) not want anything to do with it.
the sci-fi parts of these games has always been a little off-putting imo but the last 3, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage have all handled it so poorly I just cannot suspend my disbelief the majority of the time.

I think the Problem is that Basim's story is dealing with political espionage outside of an official military zone. It is a stealth setting with him trying to avoid damage. Accordingly we can say stealth and parkour. However, the Golden Age of Baghdad should have a lot of stories to tell, thus being able to implement a lot of them in the game. Marc-Alexis Côté said “It is a smaller Assassin's Creed project,” to celebrate the 15th anniversary. $50 for the standard edition reflects the scale of the project. It was already announced that is around 20 hours playtime. They have said that they will continue to develop the Ubisoft Anvil, but that has yet to be proven.

Wow, just finished the story and I have killed maybe 6 enemies in total in hand to hand combat because I always just go the stealth route and run away when i'm found and this guy is just slaughtering hordes of enemies.

@@bacon8686 I played unity. probably the most glitchy AC. Revelations was fine. AC3 took ages to start being fun. AC1 and AC2 were incredibly innovative and unique games when they came out. I'd just climb around and assassinate random guards for fun. Today AC games throws you an endless open world full of mind-numbing repetitive content. Main missions are full of boring trailing missions where NPCs move at the speed of turtles. Even the stories suck. Altair's and Ezio's stories were great so they kept doing the same thing over and over. Either your mentor turns insane and assassins start infighting or a templar kills your loved ones so you go full revenge. Same thing over and over again. The only thing I appreciated was when they tried to revamp the whole combat system but I was already burned out on AC games by then. Also the AC games are just WAY TOO EASY. You don't need to sneak or use all those fancy gadgets most of the time.
At this day and age if you actually wanna play a good AC-style game, just play Shadow of Mordor instead. They did AC better than AC and nobody managed to top them.
Unity is actually in my top 3 AC games. Granted I got it like 3 years after they fixed everything so it was a great experience the whole way through for me.
That was the ultimate assassin experience.

I saw clips people were posting and couldn’t understand how I hadn’t had a single one of those things happen. It seemed really polished to me despite my game’s performance dipping below 30- 35 now and then due to playing on a slightly older rig for the time.
Same here. Day 1. No glitches. Loved the co-op possibility. Parkouring was great. And Rogue made Unity tie in nicely with an indirect connection to Desmond’s story.
Honestly the first game, the second / anything with ezio, and the third game you just held down left trigger, got a counter, 1-shot the enemy and moved on to the next lmao. So they did bring it back to its original style lmao

Funnily enough, Altair had that exact line of thought when he modified the Hidden Blade so no one had to cut their finger anymore.
What's even funnier is realizing that the whole cutting off the finger deal could have been avoided entirely if the Assassins/Hidden Ones had just worn the Hidden Blades properly in the first place.

I got it just because I like being in an interactive world I can escape to, also it was on sale for New Years, probably wouldn’t have gotten it otherwise. Since I mainly play stealth mechanics anyway I’ve actually been enjoying it but it definitely has its issues 😂 loved the video review because it’s true and honest about it

I haven't laughed this much at a video game review, and I'm a fan of AC! Your humor made my day. I have played every single AC game, even the weird ones that don't even look like AC. This one gets a 3-1/2 star rating for me, although I'm still enjoying it. Valhalla, Blackflag, Odyssey too, and the original ACs with Ezio are all faves. Unity, eh...I agree Ubisoft needs innovation! I think this was just a quickie release with a repeat theme, and it's entertaining but not interesting and inspiring like the other story lines. Thanks for the review, really fun.

Regarding flamethrowers, the Byzantines/Eastern Romans had "Greek fire" ships that had large flamethrowers mounted on their bows that were used from as early as 672 AD and would secure them multiple key naval victories. But the compact hand-held flamethrower on that one guy definitely looks like pure fiction.

I'm so glad you made this video. It is near impossible to criticize on how shit the combat is in this game and how clunky the running/parkour looks without being ganged upon in socials. Everyone is so hyped on how it's going back to its roots.
People are now realizing the bullshit that the hardcore fans want Because when the hardcore AC fans say “AC should go back to its roots” and they listen, the fans are still unsatisfied. At this point It convinces me that no matter how good of an AC game Ubisoft makes, the fans will still find a way to hate on the game. It could literally be as good as Baldurs Gate 3 and they’ll still be dissatisfied.

Odyssey was such a great game all around. Had a huge map, all the exploration, the demand for leveling up, the choice of stealth or combat, loot galore, the demand for enhancing gear and armor, great story. Everything was so well put together but people hate on it.

Not easy at all. At my first attent I died immediately lol. It depends the way you play, if you want to have fun and not just be funny for youtube video, like using gadgets while in combat in open field when everyone attacks from all sides and different type of enemies especially with spear is suuuuuper challenging and satisfing

@@ThePloingusMan high difficult has enemys with mroe health so it's worst (how he played). Normal is okay, just have fun while combat. Do you only parry in other games? Combination with your tools, strong attacks ecc
On harder difficulties it is actually challenging, unless you spam smoke bombs which let you assassinate everyone in the smoke
If you play on easy, that is.

Hi Zanny this was meant to be a DLC for AC Vahalla and changed after 6 months of development so alot of the same mechanics are from that game UI etc and why there are less weapons as it was meant to be a dlc. Great video tho😁

In AC III a assassinate was always a one hit kill, the end mission boss was too tough for me so I just started parkouring around until I saw the "Assassinate" prompt.
This is spot-on. Can people enjoy the game? Sure. But objectively, the mechanics are way too simple. You can't seriously enjoy the combat when there literally just two attack animations.
It's time to put the franchise to rest

What more ya'll OG AC fans want. The story is now actually based on an assassin's story/journey, Much more parkour and traversal opportunities added, they've even bought back eavesdropping and the multiple ways to assassinate a target. You don't like the game because it hasn't gone back to the roots as much as you wanted? Okay. Finding petty reasons to hate on it? Just unnecessary. I'm tired of AC fans making the same comment on how they ruined the game because of the teleporting chain assassination, it's such a minor thing to point out and is canon to the storyline anyways since it's due to a glitch in the animus.
Even coming down to the combat, the AC fans complain about the combat being clunky, hard, unpredictable. What they fail to realise is thats the games way of ENCOURAGING you to use stealth, so that you avoid getting yourself into situations where you're outnumbered; Also did ya'll not want more options for stealth? It baffles me how hypocritical this community can get sometimes.
