"They have the foundations for something good here" is honestly how I would sum up most of Ubi's catalogue. Interesting ideas, thematic mechanics, and overall vibes are how they managed to sell Assassin's Creed, The Division, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry. Unfortunately, everything else is almost certainly half baked, which is how they managed to turn off people who've bought those same games.
I really liked the first Assassins Creed when it came out in 2007. Big open world to parkour around in, assassinate bad guys. The combat was very bad but if you avoided that, it was fun. And for 2007, the size of the map and the graphics were very good. Then AC2 came out and it was like; hey heres a guy with an annoying fake italian accent, and we added a crossbow, thatll be 60 bucks please. Like nah. And then they made the same game again but it was in Rome instead, which was pretty cool, but come on that shouldve been a 20-30 dollar expansion at most. I stopped playing after that. Same with Far Cry, Ive played 2 and 3, and Blood Dragon was really fun. But then they just started releasing the same game with a new island and a new villain but everything else is exactly the same.
@@adity-m2g yeah I don't play new games anymore since like 2012. Sc2, csgo, Skyrim. That's about when I tuned out. Been getting into dwarf fortress lately, great game. Watch Dogs 2 had that tonality problem as well. The characters act like they are jolly little hippie peaceful activist hipsters joking around and in the gameplay you go around shooting people in the head. Also the game doesn't take its own "totalitarian surveillance is bad and we should oppose it" message seriously. Main characters are supposedly fighting against an absolute evil totalitarian dystopia like they are going start some urban guerilla warfare shit, and they joke around and do childish stunts. Tbh the game could be so good. The reputation system is cool, and the fast talk feature is actually a good idea. If the combat was more interesting, the enemies AI was actually decent, and it was like half as expensive it could actually be a decent game. I think the biggest problem is probably the fact that it’s made by Ubisoft tho, so they of course they didn’t do any of that cause they just wanna make as much money as possible.
I wish this game took after Red Dead Redemption 2, like being able to antagonize people in bars then quick drawing on them would have been cool as hell in a Star Wars setting

If we want a great open world Star Wars game, we need to have a game built from the ground up to give players freedom to go where they want. Basically no matter what these game designers do, it always feels like you're only seeing a tiny fraction of the galaxy. Take a game like Elite Dangerous, put some actually good on-foot gameplay into it, and the Star Wars coat of paint with mission-giving factions, known planets, ships, and the like, and then turn players loose into it. It'll garner a devoted fanbase that will keep the game alive for years
Thanks for dropping that deep lore,I thought Nix was a bit random but seeing this it all makes sense,u like this character so much u went back in time to name ur dog this instead of what u originally wanted
You can only do that on Story mode. On normal or harder difficulties they will block every melee attempt. You also can’t do a takedown on heavies or droids until you get the shock prod in the game. Honestly the shock prod should be used on all enemies if they have a helmet on. All the animations in the game are there but for some reason Kay will punch someone through a helmet instead.

Funny you mentioned Andor, because that series (well worth watching, BTW) taught me the one thing I need to know about Star Wars: The only way to make Star Wars in any way enjoyable for an adult audience is by making it as little like the main-line Star Wars movies as possible.
Thing is, “good foundation and concept” us not something you’d want from a 70$ title
@@MintBunHunter Right. That's only half of what a whole game should be, would be more reasonable to sell it at 30\35.

Remember people, a game about DARTH MAUL was cancelled once, and now we have this. Remember that.
