The Assassin's Creed franchise started in 2007, so far giving us 13 main different Assassin's Creed games. Each AC game has their own pros and cons, and in todays video, I wanted to rank every AC game, all the way from the worst, until finishing on the best AC game.
I'm sure you'll disagree with me at some point, so let me know dows in the comments whats your favourite Assassin's Creed game and why?

Best thing about ranking lists is that everyone feels differently about each game. I'd personally put Mirage above Syndicate and Odyssey over Unity. Origins is my favorite though. To each their own.
I will put mirage above Odyssey, Valhalla
I would put Revelations higher, I personally love that its basically the sequel we all wanted, and even tho its short, it deserves to be higher

I'm going to keep saying this but a Tier list is the best way to rank anything. Makes things less black and white when they're not.
I played every AC sp far and for me Odyssey and Black Flage were the most fun and memorable for sure.

Man my favorite part of Odyssey was all the mythological fights like Medusa… that was so fun
Same! Some brilliant boss fights in that game, same with Origins & Valhalla too

@@IronsideGeorgeyeah I also loved odyssey, I really enjoyed walking through the map with the power of a literal demigod I was killing my opponent with one hit, I was able to assasinate opponent who were 20-30 levels higher than my own, it was awesome.
rogue has been called underrated so much that it’s now overrated

@@IronsideGeorge That's nonsense. Yes it's a slightly different Black Flag in another area. But Brotherhood is another 2 and good. Rogue has some good optional content. Only because the story is rushed it's not bad. It's still Black Flag in its core. Again, Brotherhood and Revelations are almost like 2. But with Rogue this is now a bad thing because its not ann obvious sequel.

@@Vayne_Solidor It's not just Black Flag that makes it bad. It's that the game is fun, but the story is dogshit. Like he said in the video, the game does the poorest attempt ever at giving us an outsider or templar perspective. The entire time ad Haytham is arguably much better. Shay has potential, but the entire story needs to remake. The one we got atrocious depicts the Brotherhood acting just like the Templars and they kill Adewale. Again, nice concept, fun game, but the story alone makes it almost crazy to just pay that much for it when it released. Brotherhood and Revelations probably should have been DLC so if there was an AC 2 remake, I'd make Brotherhood and Revelations DLC, but they are leagues and leagues better than Rogue.
Same goes for Unity or the SW prequels. Like damn we get it. Better than we remember for sure but they still have soooo many flaws
Generally agree but Odyssey once again mischaracterised as not being good for stealth. Apart from the boss fights and the arena, you can literally stealth the entire game with the assassin skill tree by far the strongest and most powerful. The only thing is missing regarding stealth is the blending.

Exactly. People just don't know how to play because the engraving system is confusing at first. Assassin is so much stronger than Hunter and Warrior. So much so that I stopped using Hero Strike because it made Warrior builds obsolete.
Fr. I pretty much stealth through whole forts, camps and hide outs in Odyssey no problem 😂
The most op stealth assassin item build is Pilgrim Set (near-permanent Invisibility since it removes the adrenaline consumption) and falx of Olympos (+100% damage in exchange for max 25% health).

Unity was about using the gadgets, you had to pick your gear carefully too (sprinting full on towards the target isn't going to work) when its also buffed with the PC mod to allow for more control (using the phantom blade when hanging off walls) its one of my favourite AC games.
I still play Unity on PC; looks absolutely incredible.
Odyssey is by far my favourite AC game. When you look at the game as a rpg instead of an ac game, Odyssey is pretty much fantastic
Based on reading tons of comments, I would say odyssey might be the best one as it is in the majority of everyone’s top 3 if not number 1.

Comment is not how you rate a game success lol. Ac odyssey barely had 10m copy sold and most ac fan would say ac black flag and brotherhood would be top 1. 3rd place is arguably between ac 2 and origins. The only people that loves odyssey are the one who loved the game for the settings in greece and all that.

Odyssey is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. Mostly due to the amazing Greek/Sparta setting and mythology. The combination of naval and foot combat, participating in land battle and exploring all the islands. An absolute masterpiece!

Also totally agree with Rogue at the bottom… I never got hooked despite it sharing so much with Black Flag.. and I never enjoyed playing Shae at all, found him totally forgettable; I forgot about the terrible accent though so may need to play a bit again to remind myself 🤣

You forgot a game from the list “assassins creed: nexus VR” a great get weird feeling assassins creed game, parkour entirely depends on if you, it can either be smooth if you’re used to VR or terrible of not, yet it’s a fun game overall, if you have VR you should totally check it out

Honestly one of the best lists I’ve seen. I would probably have the same top 5, however a few may be in a different order. Hard to find a perfect list but this one is close!

I’d say this list is pretty spot on. I haven’t played origins or mirage though so can’t comment on those. But the brotherhood, AC2 and black flag placements are right in my opinion. That’s number wang

You owe it to yourself to play both of those, origins especially. Egypt is insanely detailed and beautiful, also the most accurate depiction of ancient Egypt ever made. Bayek is a phenomenal character with a solid story and a top level voice actor.
One thing I wish the other games allowed just for the giggles was that in AC1 you could run into people with brooms and knock it out of there hands if you did so you could then pick it up and proceed to kill guards with it when I would get bored I would just grab that and see the string of death a man and a broom could bring

I think they should make a ww1-ww2 based ac where you take part in famous battles and focus on stealth alot more, you could kill generals and eventually world leaders
I think it would be easy and fun to tie in with the ac chronicles russia story with the russian revalution
The part before the title scree could be the guy who assassinated franz ferninand < - (who would be a templar) be an undercover assassin who was a ‘luckily at the cafe’ to asassinate him not knowing it would cause a world war
This would be risky but how in ac freedom cry you have plantations they could add that but make them concentration camps instead or just military camps instead
It would be good if you could also fight for rebels in guerilla warfare which would use stealth and be quite fun

Well they’ve already ventured from being an assassin to being a pirate,Templar,mercenary Demi-god and then a Viking so it’s only right that Ubisoft continues with these outlandish ideas.
I always think it is a good thing have fans with many different rankings because truthfully there isn’t a game offensively bad there are games I would rather play like odyssey and black flag for me there is a a quality in each of them which it does better than the rest.
But my ranking personally
Rouge: there is a lot imported and also you switch side I think in sequence 2 of 6 even then sequence 3 is a tutorial sequence as well but the game does have one of the most challenging mission the storm fortress but it is a side mission
1: fine for the time horrible to replay now. the flag collecting annoying, stealth is none existent and it is repetitive but it is a starting block and but movement still holds up and setting is still great and was something never seen before so can’t bash it too bad
Brotherhood: it did fix a lot from 2 but it just aggravates me in a lot of cases with the annoying 100% sync requirements which some are just unfair and the map is not that fun to traverse ezio and the time period is built for building parkour it is not a rpg game so the map being 2/3 fields doesn’t fit the ezio trilogy style I know 2 had horse riding and wide open space but you were mainly in the cities of Venice and Florence
Unity: Snipers just Snipers. Ok story tried to be more complicated it did alright but I just got annoyed at the assassin council and I think that is why In the games character you play are either leading or not affiliated with the brotherhood because no like being told what to do only mirage and 1 have you a part but unity find just jank and an alright story could’ve been longer
iii: unity and iii could be either place iii horrible pacing almost kills the game you get 3/4 or the sequences with Conner and one is a tutorial so 2/3 as an actual assassin I think it is also a game that relies on the setting too much for mission it every event oh look it is Conner which for some is fine but basically carried the revolution which is hilarious but does make Washington look weak but iii get a plus for just having haytham
Valhalla: I don’t really have a problem with this game yeah it is on the long side and i would’ve cut some of arcs and made them side quest the arc system I think was a direct fix for the problem odyssey had where people would play then have break come back and couldn’t remember what happened and Ubisoft wanted people to play an arc a day but that not how we work. But I do think it got combat numbers right for a rpg they were not easy but they weren’t damage sponge. Valhalla had good moments
Mirage: this is a game ranked with expectation I think we needed a simple stealth focus game and that what we got there wasn’t going to be massive character driven stuff because Basim was working for the hidden ones which I expected but there was some could’ve been more stuff for Basim maybe in more side quest it was just a nice quick game in the end and I enjoyed it I hope next time they will stuff with the masked group it give the villains nothing until the end
Revaluation: same as mirage a nice quick game with more emotional weight love seeing more Altair and him having a personality enjoy parkour with hook blade and it was nice seeing ezio happy do wish there was more to do but I think it simplicity work in it favour and one of the only game where you are not actively hunting the Templar they are more in ezio way
Origins: new era was a really good start to the rpg style good story some of the villains were stand out like the scarab but there gameplay issue like lack of mission variety mainly just kill this or place here but it is working out the kinks for the next game. Bayek is awesome and aya was someone who should’ve had more but a least we played as her for a bit
2: this had quite a chill tone to it with memorable mission like Grimaldi assassination with the flying machine ezio is a amazing protagonist and the cities of Florence and Venice are amazing. Rodrigo is a poster boy of ac villain even though his boss fight sucked and most people forget ezio isn’t even an assassin till sequence 10 I’m pretty sure it just a pretty setting and a rare setting to have in a game
Odyssey: has the best side quest ever there are stories to make you laugh, cry and think I will say people may say that assassins creed protagonist should be an assassin but it can lead for the same story being told again this is the first story about something different the revenge and killing it about getting family back together it did the choice and order better than Valhalla by having integrated into the story better and I can odyssey for hours
Black flag: this was the new era of ac after Desmond and it was the first to have a protagonist skirt around the assassin but did most of their work for them even though he messed there hold in the West Indies up it had great ship combat even though the cities were smaller they did well showing colonial architecture and the story being very character driven with great side characters and love Bartholomew Robert even though I’m iffy on sages in general
Syndicate: oh this bias it was my first ac but syndicate is mechanically unity if it was stable I like the tone of syndicate it making good on a bad situation like brits always do as well as the aloofness of Jacob mainly the story though his perspective and he is a very skill assassin so he doesn’t have to worry much it also has a simple story of breaking Starrick control over London taking out his lieutenants by finding who they are because they lead an industry starrick controls and Evie is looking for a piece of Eden against Lucy Thorne it just a good time that plays well for me
I will say this assassins creed hasn’t got better or worst it is just different some you’re gonna like some you’re not but don’t bash other people for liking what they like

I get where people come from about stealth in Odyssey but I’ve legit never had a stealth problem in that game. It lacks social stealth which is a bummer, but otherwise it’s a perfectly fine stealth game. You just gotta spec for assassin.
Origins is my favorite due to it being first assassins creed game and it's setting being beautiful.
I'm planning on getting most of these or well the old ones since I played Odyssey a lot and just beaten Valhalla I suppose, I haven't killed Aelfred yet but the whole prophecy story and wedding is done so I'm guessing I beat it. Anyway as I was saying I'm planning on trying out the old ones since I started on ac 3 and that was back when it first came out so I missed out. Idk if I should get them on pc though or keep them on ps5 I mean I'm playing ac4 now and it looks ok other than the weird brightness and insane motion blur but I started immediately after Valhalla so that could be it. I can't wait to play Mirage now because the whole ending with Valhalla is very confusing.
Hmmm - maybe depends on your PC specs? As long as you're playing with a controller thats all that matters!

As Ubisoft sticks with the RPG style, I feel that they need to strip some of it back and return to basics like Origins. That game had the best balance between classic AC and RPG AC
As far as Ive read theres nothing from Ubisoft or other officials saying they provided their Notre-Dame render to aid in restoration. The only confirmed things from ubisoft is that they donated €500,000 euros. Ubisoft did say they would provide other help if they could, and that would likely mean giving their render of the building, but a French monument organization had more recently laser mapped the building before the fire. So Unisofts render was not used at all. Still a good gesture by Ubisoft tho.
Rogue // very good arguments. I’d beg to differ on the story being awful though. I think it has some insanely good moments throughout the story. But I get your point, it did a really poor job on switching to a Templar view which also is my biggest complaint for Rogue. It was also a bit too short sadly, I didn’t feel it was that rushed however. Apart from the Templar/Assassin aspect which you said very well. The overall story could’ve been bigger tho imo.
AC1 // 100% agreed with your opinion. AC1 gave us this amazing franchise, but even looking through my good old nostalgia goggles I notice the flaws a lot now. I am praying for an AC1 remake, which would hopefully take most of its issues away, but the tedious mission design sadly is unable to be fixed.
Mirage // Didn’t watch because I have yet to finish it
Syndicate // Valid arguments. On one hand, I really liked Jacob, on another, he didn’t feel like an Assassin to me, as he wasn’t taking it serious at all. Imo they should’ve made him responsible for his actions, like how Arno was kicked from the brotherhood and Altaïr who lost everything when he failed the mission due to poor behavior.
Valhalla // Can’t say much about this one, you mainly covered my opinion for this game. I agree its combat is actually very enjoyable, probably my second favorite behind AC3’s.
Odyssey // I actually think Odyssey’s stealth is pretty good. It’s terribly oversimplified but it works really well actually. I must admit I had an insane stealth build though. However, the game really should’ve allowed instant assassinations.
Revelations // Valid points you make. This game really had its moments but it was too damn short for sure. Still those moments really made me fall in love with this game.
AC3 // I believe something popped up in my mind while watching the video but I really can’t remember what. Valid arguments.
Unity // Definitely agreed with the Shay point. It really makes no sense that he never tracked him down. I personally have always hoped that Ubisoft would ever make another Assassin’s Creed game in which we have to kill Shay (even though I really liked Shay a lot lol) which could also justify the reason that Arno never did. Maybe ever…
Origins // 100% agreed. Abubakar Salim IS the game. He made it the game the best experience ever no doubt. Same as you, only thing that is keeping me from giving it a 10 is the leveling scale. I wasn’t too bothered by it, but I agree that it doesn’t really make much sense.
AC2 // I guess almost everyone can agree that this game was so good lol. Valid points given, don’t have much to say about this one.
Black Flag // Sadly this game wasn’t for me. Still, you make some really valid points. Only thing I disagree with is the combat, it felt like a dumbed down version of AC3’s to me. What made AC3 truly shine was the double counter kills, which were heavily reduced in Black Flag sadly.
Brotherhood // As usual, really good points. I would argue the combat improved a LOT from AC2 but I really agree with the rest
Conclusions // overall really solid ranking mate! Mine is entirely different but I understand and agree with the points you made. Considering it’s 1am I didn’t add my own arguments regarding the AC games, just dove deeper into the ones you presented but maybe another time. Still, the arguments you have given are really strong and make sense imo. I do not agree but it is a valid ranking.

Although personally my favorite is still syndicate, but I also haven't played it in a long time but I had so much fun with that game.

Thanks Iain! If tailing missions were maybe 10% of the game it would be better but they just feel so over used. Love Black Flag though!
AC oddessey is my first Ac game and I’m loving it,I know the games “assassin” aspect is very rough but I love Ancient Greece and it will probably be one of my favorites
I still play on a PS4PRO and I find Odyssey to run the smoothest!

Odyssey Was def the best in my opinion. Notbing will beat the Greek mythology theme. No map is better looking and feeling. And just taking your time to feel the world

It's assassins creed 2 at number 1 for me, although I haven't played all the assassins creed games. I think the often overlooked aspect of the game is it was only the second in the series and such a massive improvement on the flawed first game.
Personally I'd have AC 3 lower on the list. It was quite a disippointment after the ezio trilogy. Odyssey is the one I'd raise much higher. Enjoyed it quite a bit!

ac black flag had some fun multiplayer
while i would agree that the story of mirage was quite weak, it was the first assassins creed game in awhile that i thoroughly enjoyed with and had a ton of fun with, something i hadn't experienced to the same degree since origins. There were moments of odyssey and valhalla that felt so dull, and five hours of odyssey felt like years as compared to the campaign of mirage flying by. It felt like assassins creed again, and the combat fulfilled the purpose it was meant to fulfill; motivation to use stealth and be an assassin. while simple, it was could still be quite satisfying, and you never had to use combat if you didn't have to. It felt like Ubisoft Bordeaux understood what we wanted, made the best of the situation, and output a product that sufficiently satisfied a group of fans that was crying out for an experience like this. I could keep going on like this, but overall i'm just very excited to see what ubisoft bordeaux might do in the future.
Does anyone wanna help me get the multiplayer lab technician trophy on AC4? The player base is dead so I can’t find a game. I’m stuck at 99% trophy completion. Or does anyone know where I can find help?
The tower defense game isn't really used outside of tge tutorial. It only happens if you don't assign master assassins to a section and not get max notoriety.
I'm confused why Mirage is so low. It's my favorite AC game. The combat is purposefully simple to discourage you from using it.

AC1 - GOAT ( The game that started it all , yes it becomes boring because it is very linear but the story, and the graphics from 2007 are amazing ! This is a 17 year old game)
AC2 - 9.5/10 ( No more to say about AC2 , one of the GOATS )
AC Brotherhood - 9.5/10 ( Another GOAT )
AC Revelations - 9.5/10 ( SOLID )
AC3 - 6/10 ( Boring as hell , no stealth , lot's of bugs )
AC Black Flag - 9/10 ( Amazing story, characters , gameplay and very fun while sailing )
AC Rogue - 4/10 ( The worst AC IMO )
AC Unity - 6.5/10 ( Not great, Not terrible )
AC Syndicate 7.5/10 ( Fun game, although doesn't seem like an AC game )
AC Origins - 9/10 ( This was a fresh start and a solid release from Ubisoft after a long time)
AC Odyssey - 9/10 ( Some might not agree but I have my own opinion, great scenery, ancient Greece is amazing, love the side quests that keeps you busy)
AC Valhalla - 8.5/10 ( Not bad but repetitive copy and paste from the last 2 AC games, love the scenery and Viking ambient)
AC Mirage - 8/10 ( This was suppose to be a DLC after Valhalla , again copy and paste from previous AC games, such as running and climbing all have the same animation)

Hopefully, when BF gets remastered, they will dial the follow missions back. Capcom did well with taking things out of the RE remakes that players hated so Ubisoft could if they wanted, and the game does deserve it. If they refined and remastered BF it could be a master piece and really elevate it among others games like RDR2 but they won't. They could, but they won't. Sad really with what it could be now. Looking at you S&B.
I mostly agree but I have seemed to really enjoy Mirage and that’s probably because the reason I started playing assasins creed was for a good stealth game. And I like the teleport feature.
Don’t get me wrong - I enjoyed Mirage, Baghdad was awesome and the stealth/tool aspects were great, but the combat is really poor and it’s lacking in content, hence why it is where it is!
The teleport feature is a direct lift from the assassin skill Rush Assassination in AC Odyssey.
For me Mirage is WAY better than Valhalla, Syndicate and AC 1

mirage is the best for sure, I played them all and I live in italy, you'd think my best was the ezio saga but my brother felt like a robot dawg it's way too old to be compared to mirage

I am glad you didn't put Valhalla and Odyssey at the bottom of this list and I think they are both really underrated. Like you I love vikings and if Valhalla was not an AC game, then it could have been one of the best Viking games of all time, same with Odyssey if it was not an AC game also and both of them should of been based more in mythology and not another Assassin's Creed game.

Black Flag, 100%. They're both great games, but to go from Odyssey to Brotherhood will feel like a real shock. I'd play Brotherhood after though :)

I think odyssey is one of my favorites behind black flag and brotherhood
My personal favorites are ac3, black flag, ezio trilogy and origins. the rest are kind of meh to me. those games also had the most interesting stories and time periods. I just wish Ubisoft would just stop dropping protagonists after one game. Ezio is the best of course, but Edward and Bayek had the potential for their own trilogies. Others didn’t deserve more than one game like Eivor, Kassandra/Alexios, the Shay twins and Arno. the 3 I mentioned first definitely deserved more content though (except ezio cause he actually got a whole saga and story completed).
19:35 if u paid closed attention to the story, its clear that Arno even tho suffering from the lost of his dad, knows that are greater and more important battles to figth then killing a pathethic "king wannabe"
I would like to know what is considered the best length of a game? Some people would complain about a game for being too short, while others would complain about it being too long. So where's the middle ground? I personally love when a game is long with a lot of content. I feel like you get more bang for your buck in that aspect.
I totally get what you mean. My issue with Valhalla is the length because some of it feels repetitive and bloaty. Perhaps if the content was overall more exciting I’d find more enjoyment. That being said, 20 / 30 hours main storyline and the same for side missions seems like a good basis. ✌️
@@IronsideGeorgeI can totally agree with you there. I love the Valhalla. The vast open world and the various content that is has to offer. However, the variety could seem a bit bland if they aren't very engaging or lack uniqueness to other missions. It's quantity over quality at that point.

For me it’s the first ever assassins creed game that came out. Being a kid and hearing there’s a game like this being released got everyone excited. You wouldn’t understand.

Okay I appreciate the one spoiler warning but why the heck didn’t you put a spoiler warning before saying Lucy was a Templar. I just started playing brotherhood for the first time and now I’m super disappointed that such a big plot point is spoiled for me now
Odyssey by far was the best...AC3, Rogue and Blackflag are all right there with it. Valhalla was a good Viking hack and slash but a horrible AC game...Unity was absolutely horrible
Mirage not being the last one when it's a buggy mess with shitty story and repeatable missions is truly marvelous
Buggy? Granted the story is poor and the combat is terrible but the world is great and the stealth is awesome. No bugs my end though!
Valhalla was better than odyssey by a long shot. Combat was better, dlc is better, graphics are better in Valhalla. The story is kinda meh for both but the rpg aspect is better in Valhalla. Odyssey was just a weird entry that failed and kinda succeeded cause it didn’t totally crash. All in all odyssey could have been the best entry with the setting of Ancient Greece but the devs just crashed their opportunity. And ngl mirage could be ranked higher for the original AC vibe. It wasn’t that bad. The combat was mid but so was the combat in the originals. Actually the originals had worse combat than mirage. Mirage did a good job reaching a happy medium between the originals and the newer editions in the franchise.
Im going to be honest pretty good list but I think that rogue needs to get a little more love even tho it came out when unity came out

I would put it right after black flag because it is essentially a copy and paste but you play as a Templar but I think of it as a long dlc for black flag. But what sets it apart is that it’s way more fast pace and introduces the tools and gadgets immediately. Shay can be annoying when he’s an assassin but I think he’s really really cool when he’s older and it brings back Haytham kenway and Achilles two very good characters on two sides of the war.

I genuinely don’t think there is a bad AC. Some are better than others, but bad? Aspects of Mirage are bad, the combat is garbage, but the stealth is great. Overall it’s mid.
@@IronsideGeorge It was marketed as an AC game that returns to the series' roots, but it doesn't deliver on the key aspects that made the original games stand out. So, even if it's subjectively "mid" or average, it feels like a letdown because it doesn't live up to the expectations set by its heritage. So yes, I would say that it's "bad" compared to the other ac games because of the difference threshold. Maybe not a bad game in general, but definitely a bad AC game if that makes any sense.

It's not self-indulgent to bring up what most people think about the game. I know each persons experience is subjective, but there is an overall collective consensus on Mirage being the worst in the series. Like I said, it is inherently a bad game compared to the other games in the series.

Ive played every AC game, even the handheld and side scroller title's. Odyssey was the only one i downright hated as soon as i started playing it. I played for about 5 mins before uninstalling and never touching again.
Brotherhood ranks near the bottom for me, though still above Odyssey and AC1. I just felt it was such a downgrade coming after AC2, the plot wasn't as interesting to me, there weren't as many actual assassination missions, and I really disliked the map when compared to the cities we got to see in the previous game. It also felt extremely unambitious by comparison, AC2 gives you a range of different maps and cities to explore all over Northern Italy while Brotherhood does away with that and traps you in the one boring and tedious to traverse city for the entire game.
I liked rouge not sure why but I really did enjoy its not like my top fav but I really enjoyed it I wish more people did
Well, if you dont treat Valhalla as an assassins creed and more as some kind of game of thrones, it's actually pretty good.
My favorite ac game definitely has to be Valhalla. I just like the story (people will flame me and I don’t care) and I just love how much there is to explore. (To be granted that’s basically all of the ac games I’ve played except for origins)

The bit about Odyssey enemies being damage sponges isn't entirely accurate. If you know how the progression system works and you actually build properly, they definitely aren't damage sponges. Albeit the progression system is a bit more complicated and not nearly as straightforward as Valhalla and Origins so it can be difficult to get a grasp on that if you're not familiar with that kind of progression system.
Also not accurate to suggest you aren't viable in combat while using a stealth build in Odyssey since the Assassin tree actually has the most overpowered combat ability in the game. Assassin builds are fundamentally the best builds in the game for both stealth and combat thanks to Hero Strike. They're quintessential glass cannon builds that delete stronger enemies. It's ironic that people argue stealth is discouraged in Odyssey when Assassin is so much stronger than Hunter and Warrior.
2 and brotherhood are my favorites. And the OG AC needs to be higher than 2nd from dead last. Is started the series for a reason.
I played AC in a weird order. I played the first one long ago. Then played Odyssey, Unity, Mirage, and Syndicate in that order. Random as hell yep.
- Odyssey: It was very fluid to me, no weird glitches, crashes, etc. The world was so richly created I was impressed at the layering of environments, characters, and the world building. Storyline was top notch imho. It's a huge world and the game makes u hop around everywhere. I played it slowly over months but it's a grind. Definitely not very "assassins creed- esque" but as a game it was great. And like someone mentioned below, you can stealth the whole game - which I did.
- Unity: won't repeat what others said here. Enjoyed it, despite the buggy-ness.
- MIrage: I loved the time period and setting. The return to simplicity was refreshing. I liked it downplayed the combat aspect and emphasized importance of stealth. The enemies in this game were rather sticky, at the max difficulty which I enjoyed. The combo of tools u get can lead to fun experiences and interesting ways to "solve" each mission. Parkour was fine, not Unity or earlier AC, but enjoyable enough.
- Syndicate: ok I might be an outlier but i found it rather tedious for some reason. Felt like a watered down Unity in many ways. The setting was interesting, but I think the massive scale of London vs. the type of missions you get were a bit off. With such a rich city and in the Victorian era, there were so many missions and storylines Ubisoft could've created. But the storyline was rather mediocre to me. The parkour was fine, similar to Unity. IMHO, Jacob was annoying as hell as a protagonist - just the way he was written. I would've preferred having to pick either Jacob or Evie at the start, rather than the game switching back and forth. In most cases, when I could I chose Evie. Also strange but the city felt rather empty. I'm not a game expert but perhaps having more NPCs would've made things too hardware intensive? Not sure. Unity's Paris felt so vibrant and alive in comparison. I get it's a diff time period, diff scale of the city, etc.
I started with Odyssey, and I’m glad I did. Because if the OGs ruined it for you, you didn’t want to like it. I love it

If it was just a DLC for Black Flag if probably would get a lot more love. I also really rate the RPG games too; I’ve got a soft spot for Valhalla 😛
The reason why you can choose stealth in odyssey is because in the story its set before the brotherhood thats a reason I think that argument is useless considering the hate is from people whe ‘care’ about the story

I think they should make a ww1-ww2 based ac where you take part in famous battles and focus on stealth alot more, you could kill generals and eventually world leaders
I think it would be easy and fun to tie in with the ac chronicles russia story with the russian revalution
The part before the title scree could be the guy who assassinated franz ferninand < - (who would be a templar) be an undercover assassin who was a ‘luckily at the cafe’ to asassinate him not knowing it would cause a world war
This would be risky but how in ac freedom cry you have plantations they could add that but make them concentration camps instead or just military camps instead
It would be good if you could also fight for rebels in guerilla warfare which would use stealth and be quite fun
From what I gathered, it comes down to Origins or Black flag. How you put it 4th in beyond me. Most hold Origins in very high regard.

Syndicate deseves alot higher in my opinion. Amazing world cool main characters who are memorable. Combat is the best it's ever been bar not having tonnes of weapon choice but there refined in how they work. Territory gang take overs are much cooler then collecting gold from random chests. Apart from black flag having a crazy open world and the ship stuff. Syndicate is pretty much the best assasins creed i have played. I played ac 1 ac 2 ac 3 ac sydicate ac blackflag ac rouge ac revelations ac in Egypt or something like that ac unity.
If assassins creed black flag had good combat it would probably be the perfect game. But tbh bar blackflag with the ship stuff and fleets. I'd say assassins creed syndicate gave me the most fun. Jacob and evie are a blast I'd say there more intresting and real feeling then pretty much all other ac charaters. Like i enjoyed all there cutscenes its like watching a little tv show. I actually knew what was going on and even if i got distracted i still knew where i was at. The story kept my ingaged
Assasins creed unity and origins being ahead of syndicate is mad. Do any of you lot even have a clue what the story was for black flag ?? Syndicate is one of the only ac games that actually makes you feel like you know what is going on.
Each to their own dude! There is no right answer, it’s all personal preference. Saying that, I like black flag combat! It’s like AC 3’s, which is also great!
I don't get the hate pple have for Origins and Odyssey. I think they actually saved the franchise. I've played AC from Altair to Ezio, skipped brotherhood, revelation, Unity and AC III and came back on Black Flag before playing Origins which was a breathe of fresh air for me. I generally avoid melee and will literally stealth kill at every opportunity I get. Ancient Egypt was beautiful and I prefer Origins environment over Odyssey. Haven't made up my mind if I wanna try Valhalla as I'm not a big fan of Norse mythology, but I don't think I'll give mirage a go. Would be dope if AC can develop an Eastern Asian theme title!
Honestly, if you like Origins and Odyssey you should definitely try Valhalla; it’s great. We do also have AC Red around the corner (set in Japan) so might be up your street!

Assassins Creed 3 is underrated by far my favorite other than all other Ezio and Altair games. And Valhalla is solid. What happened to story telling games?
