You know what Wonder Woman's role in this game reminds me of? Admiral Holdo from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. She was the one who got the spotlight and got to go out in a cool and noble way, whereas Admiral Ackbar, the fan favorite, was unceremoniously sucked out into the vacuum of space in a "blink and you'll miss it" scene, a lot like Batman.

I can't believe they made a game where the main people who are complaining about it are the ones who haven't even played it
Batman as the Squad's "Justice League insider" works so much better:
First off, he's Batman, the guy with a plan to neutralize every single ally he has, just in case, and sharing the plan would explain why the Squad doesn't get obliterated by the various heroes immediately.
Secondly, it makes no sense for Brainiac to be able to take over his mind right off the bat, a major part of his character is his mental fortitude, which is already demonstrated in the Arkham universe this is set in.
And lastly, he would be such a high priority target for Brainiac that he would be willing to rely upon the Squad to carry out his plans to save the world while he's forced to remain in hiding to avoid total catastrophe if he got caught.
Its not really like batman to hide tho and brianiac has a whole new level of tech which can play into him being the one to hide tho

the fact you think Brainiac shouldn't be able to mind control batman, which isnt even exactly what he did, that just goes to show you don't actually know much about either Brainiac or Batman.
Brainiac can go toe to toe with superman in terms of strength, and makes the IQ of both Bats and Lex COMBINED look embarrassingly small.
I don’t understand the combat…you have deathshot, who could be your sniper and has vertical mobility, you have king shark, who could be your tank and be primarily melee, you have Captain boomerang, who is given moments of super speed and medium range with his boomerangs, and Harley Quinn, who can switch between melee with her bat and farther range with her gun.
And yet…they give everyone guns…and practically the same fighting style for…some reason.
Like why does King Shark need a gun??? Why make captain BOOMERANG so reliant on guns????

If they wanted the "evil justice league vibe" - they literally could've done something involving the Crime Syndicate (Ultraman, Owlman, Superwoman, Grid, etc.) in Earth 3. Could've played as the counterparts to the villains we know. For those who have no clue what I'm talking about, Earth 3 is the titular good guys-bad guys reversal in that this universe's equivalent to the Justice League and other heroes are evil, with the same going for its equivalents to our villains (Joker=Jokester; Cheetah=Lion-Miss; Gentleman Ghost=Pinkerton Ghost). Heck, it would've been interesting to play the villains of that world - or at least give the option of playing one of the sides in the playthrough

Like, I was screaming with excitement during the part of Spiderman 2 where we got to play as Venom - and was saddened when I found out it was just for that part. But imagine a game where you get to play you're own symbiote - choose its aesthetic(s), gain abilities, and maybe have a feature where you can change hosts and take over npcs (similar to how in Watchdogs Legion allowed you to enlist anyone to your side, including grandmas and such)

If she isn't going to be the one to single handedly take the justice league down then it makes much more sense for batman, who's whole thing is contingency plans and randomly working with villains, as well as being the star of the Arkham games and LAST ROLE OF KEVIN, to be the justice league member to help the suicide squad. Okay, here's an idea, so that we can still have the cool Diana moments and batman boss fight. Using magic Diana, after one of the first two league members die, transfers brainiacs brainwashing from batman to herself.
Right imagine if this was almost the same game but instead it was Batman and Amanda Waller working together your missions and you could do combat sections with Batman that would actually break up the boring ass gameplay

@@JesusChrist-nb1zo that's very polite of you to say, but it would probably need to be a sacrifice switcharoo for two reasons. So that we can keep the initial encounter with batman, and so it can be confirmed that the only way to save the world is by killing the justice league. My main complaint with the story is that the ending is pessimistic and the actual death part of the justice league fights weren't handled well. The villains killing the heroes were pretty much having a blast, or just doing their job at best, not the most respectful way to handle such a tragic loss (especially since one was KEVIN). Compare this to god of war 2018 (spoiler alert)
When Kratos kills Baldur he's actually remorseful about it, as he knows the ramifications and how it will affect the people he is close to. The suicide squad don't care a bit about the justice League, imagine if boomerang had actually felt disappointed after flash's death, or Harley had apologised after shooting batman, or anything like that. They killed off these beloved characters and the pov characters aren't that bothered.

What this game is missing from the Arkham games is the weight of the world and variety of gameplay.
In Arkham City, when Protocol 10 begins, the helicopters are a big threat and you feel slightly small compared to them. When Batman hooks up to them, seizes the codes, then gets to the center of it all - you feel badass because the WEIGHT of the situation made you EARN those codes through the gameplay.
Here, you just shoot at stuff until it dies and that's literally it. There is no stealth, there is no being smart, there is no outmaneuvering the enemy, you just point and shoot at something until it dies.
I mean the Arkham games were kinda like that, the same type of fighting, punch, dodge, counter, counter attack, batarang ect over and over, tho yeah I do prefer it but this game just does what any normal live service game does… repetition
@@Squ3rry It had the same core gameplay, but you HAD to mix it up. There were large enemies you had to overwhelm with stuns, quick enemies to dodge, goons with guns who had to be stealthed, and bosses with a multitude of different methods to defeat them.

Yeah, the concept has lost all novelty. Invincible and the Boys, which Zanny mentioned, works really well but that's because Homelander and Nolan aren't heroes. It's also especially overdone with the Justice League at this point. Injustice is one big example, but there are a thousand different stories of evil Superman or evil Batman.

The idea of Batman being the one not brainwashed kinda slaps. You'd get him begrudgingly helping the Suicide Squad, like they were the Outsiders team. They'd take down the League, and Batman would be insisting on not killing them. It kinda sucks that in this universe they got only a couple of years of activity and they get taken down by their first major foe

I like how Batman, a character who is known for his resistance to mind control, between the Mad Hatter, Joker Blood and Fear Toxin, is unable to resist Brainiacs corruption. Hell, in other media too. In the Teen Titans Vs Justice League movie, when Trigon tries to take over his body, he injects a nerve toxin to temporarily paralyze himself and make him useless as a pawn. This guy can overcome multiple mind control and mind altering chemicals, yet he falls to this. It really would have made more sense if he was the one who resisted and not Wonder Woman.

I mean, Batman being the only survivor makes sense.
He's paranoid, doesn't trust anyone, and he's still new to the Justice League. If the in-game reasoning was any indication, he had misgivings about going on to Brainiac's ship. They could have easily done Batman not going with the Justice League, having him question if things would have been different if he was there to help while also making the power dynamic even more skewed in Brainiac's favor. Imagine Batman giving you missions, creating scenarios to fight the JL with their weaknesses while he tries to find a way to save them - maybe even give the player the choice to capture or kill the Justice League. Heck, they could let you play with Batman for a scripted mission or two to hit the nostalgia. So many questionable decisions and opportunities wasted.

I think it would have been much more satisfying to have had the Amazonian wishing to be like Artemis's hunters, and be forever prime age warriors. The cost of that was living on their island. Literally no piece of info from that panel is correct either.
1) They didn't fix lagging technology. Their technology is shit, and they only get away with it because they have magic, but also because they don't have 1/10th of the problems regular people have, a.k.a diseases, age, wounds, etc. Every little piece of advancement and technology they have comes from the "Magic Sphere" that they didn't even built. Without it, they would be lucky to be able to make a coffee machine.
2) They didn't fix broken democracy. They have a monarchy. A.k.a, one family line rules eternally, the "common folk" have no voice, and I will let you guess what happens if anyone badmouths the queen, or tries a rebellion.
3) Technically they fixed 'toxic masculinity', by simply having no males. But it's funny that Luthor a few lines below says that they have "no cruelty", when we know exactly *what* happens to the males who fall on the island. There is *NO* iteration where whatever happens to them *isn't* cruel.
Lex calls them a "golden society", when they *aren't* even self-sufficient. Without males from outside, they don't reproduce. If one of them falls in battle, they can't be replaced.
A decline of 1 in 1m million years is still a decline, and eventually Themyscira is going to be extinct solely on these basis.

Every single person that worked on SSKTJL never worked on any Arkham Game ever and were all new hires rated by their diversity points over knowledge and ability. That much is clear through the gameplay, story and overall feel, it's also why every prior member of Rocksteady left the company with the 2 Lead Developers.
Rocksteady isn't Rocksteady anymore, it's C tier frauds with 0 passion and knowledge of the past games or even origins and abilities of characters who steal the name and reputation of the company. It is what it is anyway. They'll probably bankrupt themselves and dissolve the Rocksteady company and take the game off in a couple years.
You think that’s bad? Read the descriptions of the other jl members there are completely bare bones. You get a whole essay on Wonder Woman but you get like 1 paragraph a green lantern and whoever writes these things is being super irritable about it too.
