Now we know what he meant. It'll take ten years before anyone finds anything exciting to do.
The biggest thing about the game is building your ship, but it's a ship you can't walk into or fly off the planet, down onto planets, or from planet to planet. It's just loading screens and fast travel. It'd be like Red Dead Redemption allowing you to fully design and maintain your horse, but you only get to ride it during certain missions and not in free-roam.

Everspace 2, Elite Dangerous, Star Citizen, and probably some other games all have what zanny was asking for in terms of space exploration. People who defend Starfield are people who don't play space games, so don't realize everything that Starfield does has already been done before, but better in several other games.
This is just what I need after playing through the crimson fleet questline and a few side quests, enjoying the game, then spending *the next two days of my life* trying to understand doors and ladders in the ship builder
You are forced to use bracers to block entry points. So if you want a compact ship, its gonna be painful. If you get clever, you can probably do it. I got clever with mine to add a few more utility habs to my ship.

The fact that it takes 60-something bullets to kill one enemy is absolutely insane
Depends on the gun and your level. You can level up attributes that let your weapons do more dmg. So when I was lvl 20 completing the main story final fight it was difficult and I was sweating but now after NG+3 for me at lvl 51, I shred through the starborn enemies and take very little dmg. What took me 20 medpacks to do now only takes me like 5, plus some fancy powers.
The big issue is that he was using an automatic weapon, which makes your per bullet damage absolutely terrible. Don't ask how that makes any sense, it's just a very silly balance decision.
And it looks like he dabbled a lot of points into different non-combat stuff (like persuasion, carry weight) and didn't really have mods on his guns (basically, his build wasn't very good for combat).
Also difficulty settings tend to make enemies tougher. It's not as absurd as with skyrim or fallout games in the past where legendary difficulty enemies take forever to kill unless you've minmaxed or exploited the game, but they tend to be pretty tanky.
9:52 Hey zanny to make the game more seamless just point your ship in the direction of the quest and press and hold x (on xbox). Just like how you rock with a ship. There are no menus this way and makes it more immersive. Your dude will just activate the grav drive without having to do anything

Dude, I'm so happy I clicked on zannys titanfall vid. He always makes me laugh
I had a lot of fun just doing the faction questlines and ignoring the main story and exploration stuff. I feel like they should have focused more on the smaller number of planets that have large hubs and had us travel between those, rather than putting a bunch of empty planets for the exploration side of the game that didn't get a lot of focus anyway. Like fully going in on the RPG side of things rather than trying to be both a decent RPG and a poor space sim

They didn't even have vehicles to explore the planets with. Planets are more barren than No Mans Sky, and there you can actually explore the entire planet.

My guess is that zanny keeps running out of ammo because he's using automatic weapons. Automatic weapons in this game completely tank your damage per shot which means you need to use far more ammo to kill the same enemy.
And you basically have to hold back from using weapons with rare ammo early on since you can't craft ammo in this game, so you either have to buy ammo or collect enough while using other weapons.
For me, I found that using a decent semi-auto maelstrom or grendel will get you through the early game with a net positive in ammo (since most common ammo types dropped by human enemies are 6.5 mm and 7.77mm ammo), then you can transition to beowulf (7.77) when those start spawning. Laser weapons can also be great for ammo efficiency since the ammo for them are so common especially when fighting robots/turrets, but they have maybe like 5 weapon types total.

Thought I was having a stroke when I heard the AC6 OST. Truly a Zan moment, subconsciously getting others to play the better futuristic space game.

Before the track really got going I was like "man did they really make the OST for Starfield this similar to AC6 that's wild" and then oh. I see. I was bamboozled.

What changed the game a lot for me is when i found out you can fast travel through the scanner and by pointing your ship towards a system and pushing e to select and then r to travel, it makes you allocate energy into the grav drive and really feels more immersive.

i am convinced that Todd asked someone what Anti Aliasing is and why you would make it go up to x16. the joke response was probably "its 16 times the detail" and Todd was thinkin "wooooow. we are insanely good at developing"
As someone who played through Armored Core VI and watched a couple streams of it, the Balteus joke is how I felt every time I watched a Starfield stream.
