16:04 The blue guards are the soldiers of the National Convention. The revolutionary French government. The red guards are Jacobin militants who were populist extremists. What this game fails to capture is that often times these two groups would be on the same side. During the Reign of Terror under Robespierre, the National Convention was controlled by Jacobin politicians. By the end of the Revolution, the monarchy would be restored over France. Both sides would lose. So Kev is right. No factions win.
I think the idea for the red faction was extremists in general. There were at least 32 different political ideologies/factions/parties going on throughout the entirety of the French Revolution. That way it could be applied universally no matter what the political context was at the time. Before Napoleon came to power the French went through like five different Constitutions and seven different formations of government between the years of 1789 to 1799. I like to view it as I mentioned. Blue guards represent the power of the government whoever is in charge or held majority sway, while the Red are the extremists of whatever party is at play.
@@dastemplar9681 That would make sense if the red enemies didn't always spout Jacobin rhetoric. Though it is true, they are used to represent more than the Jacobins. But only in a few places. To be honest I think the game would’ve been mocked to death if they had done French accents. I remember people clowning on Robert de Sable and Sibrand in AC1, imagine all of the characters being unable to pronounce words with ‘r’ in them.

To me this is one of the best ones because the combat was the best in the franchise they built on what 4 had while also allowing you to specialize in specific weaponry and on top of it all a multiplayer that let each assassin take on the mission in their own way my favorite memory of this game was taking on a mission to a big cathedral, heavily guarded, target deep in what was effectively a fortress the other 3 assassins I was teamed up with decided to take it a bit slow and scout out the place I ran in with a musket beating people over the head on a bright red assassin outfit taking every guard within a mile of the area to fight me while making my way up culminating in getting the target to flee into the waiting arms of my brother assassin's in arms Still one of my fave moments this game deserves so much more love than it gets

Both unity and rogue are incredibly underrated, the concepts and ideas for both are amazing I love how these games dived more into the templars and how everything wasn't so black and white, much like how AC3 did with haytham.
This game was so funny at launch for me. I built a brand new gaming PC right as this game launched, so this was the first game I played on it. The game ran perfectly, the only bug I got was a pitch fork shoveling hay without a person holding it. Then after I finished I went online to see how others enjoyed the game only to see people (understandably) hating on it.
Hey Kev! Love your videos especially on the Transformers series which brings me to say have you heard of "Transformers The Game" ? That's what it's called and I played it when I was a kid for the PS2. Could be the nostalgia talking but I love that game as a kid and I still love it now. I'd recommend giving a shot. I would love to see you play it. And if you do, let the intro screen play out gets you hyped.
I'm so lucky I only got to play the game 8 months later after it launched where most of the bugs already ironed out. I still fell below the map 3x throughout my entire gameplay
This game is definitly in the top 5 AC games for me... 2 will always be my favorite, with Syndicate and Black Flag tied for second, Unity 4 and Origins 5!
Rouge ended where unity started. Last assasination of rouge was to kill Arno's father. AND DAMN I LOVED HOW THEY USED TO BUILD A STORY AC3 had Haytam and Cornor And Adevalle as Cornor's teacher AC4 : Edward's son was Haytham and Edwards Shipmate was Adevalle AC Ruge : Hayham Accepted Shay as a templar and Shay kills Arno's father AC unity is the last game in series with a well thought plot
Bad launch and a shallow story. But besides that, definitely one of the franchises best in terms of gameplay and setting. Best parkour and stealth with a very colorful and alive open world. I never seen such crowded streets in the game and it ran so smoothly. It really felt like a Revolutionary Paris.
Also the first AC (and I think only) game where you can buy your own muskets.. Many indoor areas to explore and also the return of some real blood and violence lol
Customization was good, but i prefer the Odyssey system, where you can equip the gear with the best stats and choose the gear you want your character to wear. But unity was definetely a step in the right direction
Been playing since brotherhood, THIS is the greatest grounded AC game. It was missing a few things like fighting with the hidden blades/fists only, also body shields when you’re being shot at. Other than that Unity is KING 👑
"You've assassined your last creed" xD Have to admit this game is a masterclass compared to the new ones. Love the video thumbnail btw ! Can you share the artist name please ? 🤩
it had a bad launch, but after patches it turned into one of the best ac games. it's also the last real assassin Creed. after that game stopped caring about templars
Speaking of princess peach baking a cake during an actual war... I kind of didnt like how they changed peach's character in the mario movie because that example alone, that she baked a cake instead of commanding her army and moving resources, is why i think it was always important that she was an absolute fool and thats why mario had to save her. Shes literally the sole matriarch of an entire kingdom and has to outsource her entire military to eccentric plumbers who have absorbed mycotes to become more powerful
The skulls in the rove where because irl they hadn’t had place to burry the people, that’s why there so many dead body’s in the catacombs today, they just threw the dead buddy’s in there. That just shows the nice attention to detail

I subscribed when kev first started making ESO videos and I just came back across his channel and seein him average at least 100k views each video now hits different 😂
Honestly, i found assassins creed unity rather quite charming. Arno is fun, although hes basically french ezio. Elise was so beautiful, arno had seriously good taste in women. And the views from above are absolutely gorgeous. The only location in a previous game i can think of that rivals it would be havana, cuba from assassin's creed 4: black flag. That place looks so tropical and it looked absolutely gorgeous and its a place i would want to visit.
It’s co op mode made it one of the best ACs for me. Me and friends had so much fun playing together and it was different. Shame it had such awful servers and the launch made it take like 2 hours to join a friend sometime. Also being down for days at a time.
I will say this forever, AC Unity was the best by far up until the PS4 era and now. Problem was you would've needed to wait a few years to play it (like I did). The story, map and combat were exceptional and well done. I still remember getting from Point A to B throughout the Map just by walking on the roofs.
The parkour works fine, at least it's better than AC3 and AC4's holding the parkour button. it takes some time getting used to the context based parkour and you can make it way better with mods which you can get it for free. Also stealth gameplay peaked in this game, being able to hide behind every walls or objects is such a game changer, started made some of us realize that we haven't had any proper stealth in any of the Assassin's Creed games before this one.
The second AC game I've played. I loved it. The world, the detail, feeling, dude the music. I loved the music. One of my favorite entries of the series. It showed what an AC game could be. I wish Ubisoft stil made these kind of games.
I wouldn’t mind you doing a full playthrough of this and then Syndicate. The two assassin’s creed games from this brief era were actually pretty good. (Definitely play the Jack the Ripper dlc for Syndicate, that one’s so freaking good) The biggest problem I have with Unity is how buggy it can be. Thankfully the major gamebreaking stuff has mostly been patched out, but I still encountered a few annoying bugs (a mission failing to register I’d done the objective and forcing me to restart from checkpoint was the nastiest of the bugs I encountered). But overrall, while I’m glad Origins was made, I am disappointed it seemed to kill this brief era of ass cred. Also, I actually really like Odyssey. What can I say? It’s just really fun.
I first played it a year ago and thought it was actually pretty incredible. I was shocked by how MASSIVE the crowds in the streets could get without cratering the framerate, and the animations are better than anything current gen (now that they've been fixed). Only complaint was that to 100 percent the game solo is almost impossible without cheating, the multiplayer bits feel forced upon solo trolls like me. Also, Elyse is the hottest virtual character that Ubisoft has ever modeled, hands down.
Honestly though, the thing you didn’t get to show here is 4 assassins working together all around taking people out left and right the way the games should be. Multiplayer was honestly so cool

I love how these games dived more into the templars and how everything wasn't so black and white, much like how AC3 did with haytham.
Pretty sure at the beginning He said "draw swords men" not calling them old men lol.
I was a Leader of a Co Op group in Unity years back.
Best moments of my life as an AC Fan.
After replaying the game: “Perhaps I judged you too harshly.”
This game helped rebuild the Notre-Dame after the fire because of how detailed it was!
18:48 France gave us the Statue of Liberty so I mean it does make sense 😂
This game was so funny at launch for me. I built a brand new gaming PC right as this game launched, so this was the first game I played on it. The game ran perfectly, the only bug I got was a pitch fork shoveling hay without a person holding it. Then after I finished I went online to see how others enjoyed the game only to see people (understandably) hating on it.
The worst Assasins Creed happens to be the first one I played and my favorite (haven’t played many, though)
Try black flag
Thank you for random uploads. Gives my Saturday propose
I actually love the story of Unity. We had the nuance of Good and Evil Assassins and Good and Evil Templars.
I loved going back to this game last year the amount of customisation is amazing
Amazing vid🤞
I'm so lucky I only got to play the game 8 months later after it launched where most of the bugs already ironed out. I still fell below the map 3x throughout my entire gameplay
This game is definitly in the top 5 AC games for me... 2 will always be my favorite, with Syndicate and Black Flag tied for second, Unity 4 and Origins 5!
Rouge ended where unity started. Last assasination of rouge was to kill Arno's father. AND DAMN I LOVED HOW THEY USED TO BUILD A STORY
AC3 had Haytam and Cornor And Adevalle as Cornor's teacher
AC4 : Edward's son was Haytham and Edwards Shipmate was Adevalle
AC Ruge : Hayham Accepted Shay as a templar and Shay kills Arno's father
AC unity is the last game in series with a well thought plot
Man I love this channel
A part 2 is highly required good sir
Bad launch and a shallow story. But besides that, definitely one of the franchises best in terms of gameplay and setting. Best parkour and stealth with a very colorful and alive open world. I never seen such crowded streets in the game and it ran so smoothly. It really felt like a Revolutionary Paris.
Also the first AC (and I think only) game where you can buy your own muskets.. Many indoor areas to explore and also the return of some real blood and violence lol
The outfit customization was so gooooood
Customization was good, but i prefer the Odyssey system, where you can equip the gear with the best stats and choose the gear you want your character to wear. But unity was definetely a step in the right direction
It’s not that good there’s nothing to wear
Been playing since brotherhood, THIS is the greatest grounded AC game. It was missing a few things like fighting with the hidden blades/fists only, also body shields when you’re being shot at. Other than that Unity is KING 👑
"You've assassined your last creed" xD Have to admit this game is a masterclass compared to the new ones. Love the video thumbnail btw ! Can you share the artist name please ? 🤩
Kevin I've been waiting for your video on AC origins since the stone age
it had a bad launch, but after patches it turned into one of the best ac games. it's also the last real assassin Creed. after that game stopped caring about templars

The part is hilarious dude😂😂😂🤣
Unity is my 3rd fav AC title right after Odyssey and AC2.
The skulls in the rove where because irl they hadn’t had place to burry the people, that’s why there so many dead body’s in the catacombs today, they just threw the dead buddy’s in there. That just shows the nice attention to detail
This one was good, the animations and story were amazing and all the different weapons were *chefs kiss*
I actually loved this game.
I played AC Rogue as well. I thought it was cool to see this game begin where Rogue ended. Story was solid.
22:54 - I mean, quite a chunk of Unity's missions is about killing groups of enemies preemptively
1:14 I didn't quite catch that. What did you say that thing was called?
It SUCKS that the multiplayer for this game somehow had less connection after I got back from a real trip to Paris
I was gonna show my xbox friend the exact places and paths I took in Paris and explain how different the real thing is to the simulated 18th century Paris
I subscribed when kev first started making ESO videos and I just came back across his channel and seein him average at least 100k views each video now hits different 😂
Ok kev's uhhh the image you see before ylu watch the video hits hard
Yesterday i finished the platinum for AC Unity and now Kevduit does a Video about it 😂.
"You assassinate the last creed"
Say that again
the parkour and city levels is so good
they didn't used it again ever
Dude this is the funniest video you have posted i couldn't stop laughing. Ur videos are the most refreshing and funny 🤣
I finally got into a coop match for the Heads will roll mission
It’s co op mode made it one of the best ACs for me. Me and friends had so much fun playing together and it was different. Shame it had such awful servers and the launch made it take like 2 hours to join a friend sometime. Also being down for days at a time.
Dear kev, kevs Artist. When do we get an anime in your art style 😅❤
I will say this forever, AC Unity was the best by far up until the PS4 era and now. Problem was you would've needed to wait a few years to play it (like I did).
The story, map and combat were exceptional and well done. I still remember getting from Point A to B throughout the Map just by walking on the roofs.
Who made your thumbnail? The art is amazing, id like to follow them ;-;
The person who makes these thumbnails is very talented

Last chance to look at me Arno
For me, it was my first, and Rouge became my third. Fantastic game, honestly, and I'm only disappointed I never played the multi
just wanted to say this but the thumbnail art is really good who made it :)
Unity was definitely one of my favorite AC games, it's genuinely fantastic
I wouldn’t mind you doing a full playthrough of this and then Syndicate.
The two assassin’s creed games from this brief era were actually pretty good.
(Definitely play the Jack the Ripper dlc for Syndicate, that one’s so freaking good)
The biggest problem I have with Unity is how buggy it can be.
Dude I just finished my 3rd playthrough of the main storyline today. What are the odds!
I definitely liked Unity. Just sad we lost Elise by the end.
Also I felt like Shay should’ve been Arno’s final villain instead of Germain.
But that sword tho we get from germain
