      @@user-xi2gb1fb6i Honestly, it's gonna come down to driving each of these cars and seeing which one connects with you the most. I cant speak much for the Jag as I dont really look into them that much, but from what I've personally heard, they tend to have a lot of quality issues and spend a lot of time with the mechanic. As far as it goes between the Lexus and the porsche, they are dynamically different cars. The LC is a true GT car while the Cayman is a dedicated sports car. The Porsche will out perform the Lexus all day given its essentially a mid engine go kart and weighs over 1,000 lb less. However, it probably wont come close to the comfort and daily driveability that the lexus has. You gotta go get behind the wheel and see which one you like more. Hope this some what helps!

    and you are right. I own an '18 and bought it used during early pandemic for a song. People were panicking in the streets and dumping their toys. That being said this car is a keeper. If you’re looking at buying one, I’ve owned one and here is why I got rid of it. I paid cash for it and owned it for over a year and it is a nice car, but I decided to get rid of it. Maintenance on this car is very expensive. Brakes and tires costs around 4k dollars and both don’t last very long. You can expect, at the most 20k miles before you have to replace both. I did not find the fit and finish in this car to be that good. The doors close and rattle, the entire passenger door panel had to be replaced because the leather was not stuck and was bubbling. I never drove this car hard or tracked it. Now, this car was very reliable and you can expect that from a Lexus. You should not have any issues with the engine. Overall, it was a good experience with the car, I traded it in at a Lexus dealer at the peak of used car prices and got more than I paid for it. I bought a new Lexus rx 350 for my wife and walked out with 15k in cash. The engine is incredible, the car is fast and it’s a Lexus. Most people don’t drive them very much, so the wear items should last awhile. Will you like it , yes. Will you keep it long term, I’m not sure about that !

      Your feedback is valuable to me. $4K for tires and brakes every 20K miles is something to prepare mentally for. I have planned to get a used 2024 (most of the bugs and complaints since 2018 edition finally fixed by Lexus) after it has been depreciated for 2-3 years. Will see if I still want it in couple years or I will settle for the ES350 grandpa mobil. Although I make a 7 figure income but I am frugal like Warren Buffett.😅

    • @17forever64
      @17forever64 Місяць тому

      @@Rocket9944 do you have an LC? They have 21” tires and they are not cheap. My issue is how fast they wear out. It’s the way the car is designed and they wear out on the inside of the tires, that’s what the manager at the dealer told me. The tires are 500 bucks a piece and you get 20k miles out of a set.

    Spot on review. Presence. One could argue it's the best looking Japanese car period. Reliability. It's truly depressing to pay a pile for a car and be required to take it to the shop every couple of months. I bought a 2011 LX570 2 years ago and have only had to change the oil. Uniqueness. I'm a 911 nut but there's a ton of them. This car really stands out.

      This car has a Yamaha engine….i think it’s pretty reliable or else Toyota wouldnt keep….relying on it😂😂😂 they’re soooo worried bout their “reliability” rep that they can’t even bring themselves to R&D, let alone even manufacture, some of their most important vehicles. Forget about this LC500 having a Yamaha engine (same w/ LFA btw) their best selling sports cars- the GR86 & the Supra? They’re quite literally not even Toyotas, none of either car- ones a Subaru the others a BMW😂😂😂😂 so stop kissing their ass for being cowards.

It’s absolutely pathetic. Could you F’n imagine if Chevy had Porsche build them a corvette? Would never happen, yet moronic Toyota loyalists who still guzzle their koolaid don’t see how weak in terms of lack of R&D ability + marketing standpoint it is for Toyota to just have the likes of BMW build them a Supra from the ground up. I mean when you’re in the market for a $60,000 car and you want high performance especially from a big old V8 it makes sense people look at the 0-60 time of 4.6 and chose something else.
      Don’t get me wrong 4 and a half seconds to 60MPH is faster than anything you’ll ever need for “regular driving”. That being said for that same money every other offering from every other car manufacturer is a second plus faster which is enormous.
      Another way to put it is why would I spend 60k on a vehicle with identical performance to a 4 cylinder eco boost mustang I can buy for 30k?

      The LC500 handles very well for its size, and sounds much better and louder than you would expect from a Lexus. It's also going to be reliable, and turn heads. It's the best choice if it will be your daily driver, or close to it. Make sure and get a car with the variable ratio steering and rear wheel steering.
      Jags are not known for reliability.
      The Cayman S is also great, but will not turn as many heads. I would only consider a 981 with the 3.4L flat-six and a 6-speed manual.
      Drive both an LC500 and a Cayman S and get the one that you like the most.

      @stevemoraga8850 Thanks, appreciate your response, after having an Audi for many years maintained and repairs can add up. The cars I mentioned just seemed realistically affordable and sensible for the price range for what you get (something that looks like it costs way more) yeah I feel you that the porche won't stand out as much. The Jag looks like a lot of fun to drive but if it's going to be riddled with issues, not good.....I guess the only thing that dettered me is Lexus just doesn't seem as popular, If I'm going to spend that much I want it to be something flashy. I'm in Australia and where I live there are maybe 2 LC500s in the whole city so it would stand out....I've never been a sheep so this being something unique and not as common might be the go, yes next stage is to test drive and keep researching and hopefully in several months I can afford one.....would def be getting my mechanic to safely disconnect the valves for the exhaust so I get the V8 sound at lower revs

I have the gs-f just waiting for these to get in the 55k-48k range 2020-2022 I'm patient. I'm in California so i NEED to get my V8'$ now 2030 they will push for no sales of V8 here in CA. After the LC500 is in my garage no need for me to buy any other car's. I'll just daily my 1992 integra da9 unitl i can't drive a stick shift😂. Very one wants big power and have all these extra features. Cars in LC500 price range is indeed faster but i plan on putting miles on my vehicles Minimum 15k-20k a year this motor is already proven. So more Practical Dealer repairs makes more sense for MY SITUATION.

    I'm trying to decide between a 2023 IS500 (Lexus certified used) with 1,000 miles on it for $60k or a 2018 LC500 with 30k for about the same price. The Car Care Nut raves about the LC500 but he isn't a fan of the IS500.

    • @VersanGetryx
      @VersanGetryx 4 місяці тому +1

      A solution to consider: pick up a lightly used IS-F if you can find it for 30k less than the IS500, and have 30k to spend on another fun, less practical car :) I did this. The LC500 is far less practical than the IS500 so pretty different options depending on your needs.

      GTRs aren’t on the road much because up until 2018 all previous years the ride quality is extremely harsh! Like so harsh you fell like the vehicle is broken, a very raw and rough driving experience even when driving the speed limit. The new models are significantly better, more or less similar ride quality to driving on typical coil overs which is still to harsh for some people.

    Nobody buys them because they're too expensive for what they're offering. Sure you get a cool unique looking car with a v8, but it's a bit too slow for the price. This car is not about performance, but that's what people want when they're spending six figures

    LC500 was not designed for the older people who could afford to buy one. Roof line is too low which makes entry and exit difficult. Trunk cannot hold a set of golf clubs so country clubbing is not possible. Mercedes SL does not make these mistakes.
