  • A concept car gone production, the newest Lexus flagship coupe takes everything that we loved from the stunning LF-LC concept and brings it to reality. From its breathtaking design, screaming V8 engine, segment first 10-speed transmission, and all-new GA-L platform. The 2018 LC500 marks the first time you may catch yourself staring at a Lexus coupe in your driveway or out on the road.

Heads up it does have android auto and carplay plus it's voice activation once learned negates the use of the trackpad a lot. Imagine this car with supercharger and or turbo charger or even electric motors to put the power down quicker. They need to ditch the rear seats and make it a 2 seater with a bigger trunk/boot space.

Lexus is far superior to BMW/Mercedes, but people are badge whores like most Asians so they get the BMW/Mercedes. Having a BMW/Mercedes doesn't fix their bad teeth and bad breath.
German fanboys say their cars are the best, yet they break down within 25,000 miles and Lexus can go a 500,000 miles easy. The brainwashing is strong in Germany. You think a n F-Type Coupe or the Merc GT are made to last?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Yamaha makes the 5.0 V8's for Lexus which is why it's so good. Yamaha also made the V10 in the LFA and that is the pinnacle of eargasm.

    • @damonsta80

Moar Desu No ..Yamaha don't make v8 engines ,the v8 engines are from the blue print of the 1Uz v8 that came in the Lexus LS 400 and sc 400 ,the uz engine family was replace with the 5.0 v8 UR series all made and designed by the Toyota /Lexus same for the v10 in the LFA they only used the Yamaha department to tweak the sound alittle they did the same thing when they made the JZ series ,1 jz ,2 jz .what people don't know is that Toyota has a lot of departments under their company Yamaha is one ,Beams,Tom's performance ,the F series and TRD.Toyota has a lot of goodies man people just don't notice it because most of them are brain wash by the mainstream media to bash the company and see them as boring auto makers but they been making big engines ,and sporty cars they just don't come to North America they even have a v12 motor a lot of people don't even know that ,but Toyota made the v8 motor and only hand Yamaha tune the sound ,go watch the making of the LFA and they will show you how Yamaha tune the LFA .

5:10: You're comment on the seats were not fully thought through. No matter Lexus, Cadillac, Kia or Ford - Good seat design shouldn't require 14....16 way adjustments. At this car's luxury position, Lexus got the seat design right. Rule of thumb is the less tinkering they have to do with any one item means they got the design where it should be - especially at this price point.

    • @motorhead_jt21

    • @tropicalstorm339

When the seat is very comfortable to begin with, it doesn't need much adjustment or customization. The seat in the LC 500 is considered by most who have reviewed it as the most comfortable sports seat in the industry and yet still very supportive during spirited driving. They even went as far as saying "why can't the Germans make seats like it?". The competitors have more adjustments because they're not very comfortable to begin with.

@@ckneasel it makes a lot of sense, I have an Audi RS5 and the car is pretty slow in the 2nd gear when going 15-20 mph, in the 1st gear it flies. The S-Tronic gearbox does a downshift in the 1st gear on its own at lower speeds if instant acceleration is needed.

It's what happens when you learned to drive on a PS2. On a real manual car with a manual clutch, you never shift into 1st unless you are at a full stop, or rolling stop sign speed. And even then it will often grind if you are not sitting still. 2nd is the lowest safe rolling gear.

Toyota4Life a lot of people actually. The compact SUV segment is now the most popular in the automotive industry. The Toyota RAV4 has beaten the Toyota Camry in sales worldwide this year and it might have a chance of dethroning the sales king the Corolla. It's kinda unbelievable ik, but I guess that is where the automotive industry is shifting. 85% of the car buyers worldwide could care less about a Lexus LC, BMW M6, Audi A5, Corvette etc.

For the foreseeable future, Toyota/Lexus have no intention of installing either of these two features. Just thought you'd like to know. For me, that is not a deal-breaker since I've been driving Lexus vehicles for nearly 10 years. You just can't be the reliability.

I used to wonder why Lexus didn’t stick 600 hp engines, over the 470 hp, in its cars to compete with the Germans, but I recently drove a 495 hp car and now I understand. For most people, 470 hp is the perfect high end of the power spectrum. Once you get to 500+, it just becomes too much for daily driving for almost everyone. I went from thinking Lexus was being dumb sticking with “lower” powered performance cars, but now I think Lexus is genius for making a car that’s powerful/ manageable enough for anyone to have a great time driving

I do think it's a solid competitor with the Aston Martin BD11. It is so much fun to drive and it actually drives exceptionally well on the track. Ive driven it at the Indy Motor speedway road course and NCM. I also own a 911 S which is more of a sports car and built for the track, but the LC totally exceeds expectations.
