- I had to fill the holes and redrill them. I ordered a piece of black fiber veneer and glued it on and then trimmed it to the headstock. I didn't like the dull black color so I painted it with some black auto paint. Then I painted on a ivory colored binding. I also dyed the fretboard darker. Thanks for watching!
Nice shop by the way
Heavymatel Alive , Hey Thanks! Yeah, I love my little workshop
Great Job!!
Bryan Hemedinger, Thanks a lot! I appreciate it! Thanks again for watching!👍
how can i send you picks of my first build?
Bryan Hemedinger, I’m not sure cause I don’t do Twitter or instagram. Ya might try to copy and paste it into the comments, I know it works with video, but if I were you I would take a video of you reviewing and demo it and put it on your UA-cam channel. 👍
@@GuitarMan3YT Awe I do not have a youtube, I do have Instagram with some pics hemedinger_leatherwerks

Hey brother. I know it's been a while but, What color was your stain? Also, how did you bind the headstock? Looks really good, but a lot of wholes in the description. Wish you'd add more info. Thanks
The stain was chestnut brown for the back of the body and neck. I used a combination of yellow red and orange and black for the top. Somehow I ended up with purple in there. For the neck binding, it’s actually paint. I sanded a 1/8” inch around the headstock and used tape to keep it straight and used an ivory white spray paint and then clear coated.
Thanks bro. You're a rock star @@GuitarMan3YT 🙂
Thanks man! Still waiting on that rock star paycheck! 😂
How did you paint on the binding? Looks brilliant.
RustyR , first of all Thanks, I thought it turned out pretty good. I just sanded the edge of the headstock where I was going to paint and used the masking tape to make it even from the edge all the way around and then masked the whole neck using newspaper. I found some antique ivory spray paint at wal mart, sprayed three coats , let it dry then cleaned it up with a razor. Then sprayed several coats of clear. That's about it.
i don't think the binding turned out so good. as well as the rest of the guitar. you are obviously not a refinish/ painter
good thing it wasn't a real Les Paul
@@cain1160 and i geus you are?
What a bozzo
Nice song, did you make it?
Eric Sala, Thanks but no, it’s from the UA-cam library of un-copywrited music 🎶 specifically made for you tubers.
how did you trim the veneer
V T , I believe I used a combination of a fine toothed hacksaw blade and sharp razor knife and a few files and sandpaper.
How many millimeters of veneer thickness?
I don’t exactly remember, but it couldn’t of been more than 2mm, so maybe like 1.5mm
