How to Fake a Gibson | No One Will Ever Know!

- Is there a difference between a Gibson Guitar and an Epiphone? NO! So why not take your Epiphone and easily convert it into a Gibson with stuff around your house. Whether it be a Gibson Les Paul, SG, 335, Flying V, Explorer... It is so easy to take your Epiphone and make it look just like a Gibson.
These are the things you need to change...
1. Knobs
2. Bridge Screws
3. Truss Rod Cover
4. Neck Plate
5. Inlays
6. Headstock Shape
7. Headstock Logos
I did this conversion in less than 30 min and so can you.

Great, but to make it REALLY genuine you need to break the headstock off. Don't worry, you can use that red tape to put it back on again :-)
That sounds like a lot of work, I used a sharpie to colour in my 'repaired break', now I have a vintage Gibson :)

40 year Gibson owner. Never experienced a broken headstock. Headstocks break for one reason, ABUSE.
I never broke the headstock on my Gibson, and by the way, the epiphone will also break if you are stupid enough to theow it on the floor

Since people have recently taken to covering up their Gibson logo (for reasons), then simply take a Chibson and cover up the logo... people in the know will think it's a genuine Gibson, lol

For those of you thinking that the tape jobs on this Epiphone conversion to Gibson were sloppy, an expert luthier can complete the tape job with painstaking precision for a mere $1,500.

Ha ha....I had that idea with the knobs!! First gig on a hot day though, that tape starts to peel like a grape.
I actually was able to transform my cheap EPI to a real Gibson, I would have never though possible, man I love these videos that are so well thought out, the best part is I had all that tape available except my EPI was black, so instead of taping , I painted the metal cover black..Bam !!!!!!!!.it’s invisible ..
I think this could work on other guitars .changing fender squires, to USA custom shop...PRS SE to made in USA ..you could possibly turn this into a business, selling transformation kits...nice job....thanks ..

I wish I saw this before I bought my 2020 Les Paul Standard Slash signature in “Appetite-Burst”. Dammit! All I needed was tape & I could’ve saved $2,700 with the Epiphone version😩
