I spoke with the Rahway Police Department and told them it’s a shame that their department calls citizens that exercise their rights, LOSERS. Her response was what I felt genuine when she said, We all don’t feel the same way the Sergeant and other officers did during that encounter, and IA is investigating and will HANDLE that swiftly and justice will prevail
We all know IA is a fucking joke. The number of policeman that have gotten away with murder because IA found them “not guilty of any crime,” far outweighs the number they have held accountable for their actions.

A lot of policing is recreational not just the screwing with people but pretty much everything from ticketing to the use of violence, we'd have to be asleep to not recognise that putting men in a patrol car, giving them weapons and power over the community, and sending them out on patrol to see what they can find, would not result in it being turned into a sport, it's basically hunting, armed men looking for something to target, so yeah it will get turned into a game for a lot of cops.

It would be easy for police not to get reaction by simply putting gov employees and private security in place by saying that they are wrong and he can record in public place. But they choose not to and complain how they don't like it but have to deal with it , etc. If cops came in and said "He can record and this is his right like it or not, deal with it" the video would be over in 2 minutes instead of lengthy discussions about how they "don't like it and they they can arrest him but it is what it is...blah blah blah".

Unfortunately, in the police culture, these officers are considered the *gold standard*. I used to get harassed when I was young because I rode a sport bike. They would always write me BS tickets. Came to the point where I carried the statues book in my tail, and I learned all of them that pertained to a motorcycle. I would stand there and show the all mighty and knowing coppers that they were full of it, and would constantly either get out of BS tickets on the side of the road, or get them kicked out at the court level when I made them look stupid on the stand. I wish I would have known I would have been able to get copies of the call logs back in the day. I think any time you have to go to court for a ticket, the CAD/body cams/dash cams, should all be required to be released to the defendant immediately for evidence.
Not only that but the whole department is a disgrace.
They are not. They are following their own rules perfectly even if they disobey basic Amendment rights.

In the body cam, the officers explain to the staff that our rights are “the problem”, rather than educating them on how our rights work, which sets them up to fail, again. Piss-poor police work.

The female cop boxed her sergeant in when she immediately pointed out "hand in his pocket" the moment the sergeant got out of his car. She is trouble and will put other officers at risk with her ignorance. Still, the sergeant should have known better and shut her down.
