- Fellow Patriots, I was peacefully exercising my First Amendment Right at the Detention Center in Alexandria, Virginia. I was immediately approached by Deputy Neckles who insisted I show him ID, and if I didn’t it would be an “option” for him to have me fingerprinted and arrested for failure to ID. WRONG. As I informed Deputy Neckles, failure to ID is a secondary offense. In order to identify someone you need reasonable articulable suspicion that that a crime has been, is being or is going to be committed. He clearly admitted there was no crime. Other than “suspicious activity” which according to the Deputy is also a crime…Let me now what you think in the comment section! I just called and spoke with a sergeant with the Alexandria Sheriff's department and showed him how to find the video. He was very respectful and concerned and will be handling this. Great work LIA. We have to support the good cops by getting rid of the bad cops.

If this video embarrasses you then you should watch more auditing videos (since your response seems to heavily imply you hadn't seen many auditing videos prior to this)
Because these displays of police ignorance/lack of education in the law and police procedure/ethics is incredibly common. This ignorant behavior accounts for the vast majority of all interactions resulting in the police failing an audit.
If this embarrasses you then you are going to be permanently red-faced after seeing dozens more interactions just as bad as this and many where the police are even more ignorant and even ones where the police effectuate an arrest based on this lack of education.

It's an embarrassment in our country that we hire the least educated, least comprehensive and least qualified to serve in law enforcement.
it's about the same here in the UK, watch some of our audits. the most well behaved and informed tend to be the ministry of defence armed police, but even they have there share of tyrants. i will point this out though about countries like the UK:
in 2022 there were 18,000 plus armed response deployments in the UK, of those only 4 times were weapons discharged, while in the US in 2022 the police shot over 1,000 people.

I'm sure he's a good kid and just unknowingly a risk and not specifically a tyrant more because he has misunderstood some concepts and this is probably due to lack of critical thinking. In all of this, there was no light-bulb moment for him and he just wanted to repeat nonsense that he must have invented or learned incorrectly. Either way Sean was very patient because I found it hard to listen to after a while and though he would make a good interrogator. Suspicious activity means they're free to ask questions, and the person is free to choose not to answer or just walk away. What was scary was that this cop didn't appear to recognize that his questions had been answered.

This man was trained EXTREMELY well by his department. He literally does everything in his power to try to get you to admit some kind of fault. Trying to get you to admit that what you are doing is suspicious, trying to get any admission of being on private property, trying to get ANY admission of any kind so that he can potentially do something. All while trying to protect his own ass by not directly ordering anything, attempting to get you to hand over ID instead of requesting it, etc etc. His language 100% comes from departmental training.

All public employees and all law enforcement employees and all judges should be required to take continuing education classes on local and Constitutional law. Period
I'm a Microbiologist Clinical Laboratory Scientist and it's required to take 240 hrs per year of continuing education, nurses, doctors and so many occupations have a similar requirement. Cops must have this requirement pertaining to State and Federal laws including judicial rulings plus the Constitution and Associated Amendments including the Bill of Rights in order to maintain certification. But they aren't... continuing education is fire range accuracy, simulation of capturing suspects in a variety of public venues. Never are they required to learn the law. Their academy education should be over. One year in order to include the study of civics as it applies to their jobs. I took a DMV license exam and it included the latest laws including the time incurred if you try to evade the police. Law enforcement is not my occupation yet I'm expected to know laws that DO NOT PERTAIN TO DRIVING.

This pretty much sums up my point of view. If I start making up random shit and spitting absurd info in my job I get fired in 2 seconds. It's mind blowing how these officers can do their job with a gross misunderstanding of what the law is and what their duties allow them to do.

I've seen thousands of audits, and this one will stick in my memory. Have never listened to a more ignorant L.E.O. There were several points where he knowingly ignored sound logic. Probably out of sheer embarrassment. You can tell he didn't want to call a supervisor because he'd have been put in his place. It's remarkably dangerous to have a deputy like that patrolling the streets. If his supervisors don't fix his smug attitude, and educate him on the LAW, he's absolutely on the path to ruining that community. Let's just hope he's new to the force.
This Deputy is a jail deputy who came out of the jail. Not an excuse, but he has never been assigned to enforce laws, make detentions, etc. Alexandria has a separate police dept for that. His actions definitely need addressed, but just adding some context.
