Brian use 3 different guitars in a 3 mins song 😱
Jesus

Ok
Impressive!
Timestamps?
Freddie Mercury: Telecaster
Brian May: Acoustic
Telecaster
Red Special
John Deacon: Bass
Roger Taylor no. Bass is very vague unlike the original comment which listed the exact instruments (set aside from the acoustic guitar)
What John seemed to have been using though was a Fender Precision Bass
Acoustic is a STAGG 12 String Guitar.
Satisfaction Therapy I’m pretty sure both Freddie and Brian used Ovation acoustics in those days.
Brian May today: Uses Red Special for the whole song because he's to lazy / old for switching guitar two times in three minutes
35 years later, anyone watching this still feels the energy. RIP Freddie
RIP Freddie

Last winter my sister would listen to queen music during dinner, about a month after that I really got into their music.
And now I'm a fan.
RIP freddie
There were three reasons why this set by Queen was the most successful at Live Aid. First, they had rehearsed for weeks before, nailing down the songs and timing for the twenty minute set. Most other bands in the show didn't even bother to rehearse. Second, Queen was used to playing in massive stadiums and have been quoted as saying they felt more comfortable the bigger the crowd. Third, they had Freddie Mercury, the best front man in rock history, who loved to play with the crowd and make them feel part of the show.
it was also louder bc the sound guy made queens concert louder than the other performances
“Most other bands didn’t rehearse” it’s okay, you can say Led Zeppelin

He still made music even though he was dying of AIDS in 1991
He didnt know that he got AIDS until 1986, so........
0:21 - Brian looking at Freddie playing guitar, like a eagle who travelled 500 miles watching a pigeon flying for the first time. His face is so cute.
Exactly ☺
YESSSSS
MAY: "Freddie used to pick up guitar and he had a great, frenetic energy. It was kind of like a very nervy animal playing guitar. He was a very impatient person, and he was impatient with his own technique. He didn’t have a great technical ability on the guitar. But he had it all in his head. You could feel this stuff bursting to get out.”
Just like a proud mom.

Me too! I remember watching this live and hearing him say it.I was upset until he said "all of you"!! Miss him so much.
When I first saw that I thought "Ouch, that's controversial! That wouldn't go over well nowadays." and when you experience that for the first time, the pause before he said "That means all of you" seems infinitely longer than when you watch it again.

Roger's "Ready Freddie" was pure gold. No diamond.
Brian May, John Deacon, Roger taylor and Freddie Mercury made a really good music, it is a shame that Freddie passed away so young rest in peace Freddie we still miss you.

This song is just pure class. Its a shame it's not mentioned enough or given the credit it deserves these days
Indeed. It’s a great song. It’s my favorite from Queen.
36 years after this amazing performance and people are still watching and listening. Now that's music at its best.
is it just me or this live stage version is actually better than the studio one
LeonX not just u
nope, not jus you. I actually think this Live Aid version might be the best version of the song.
honestly almost every queen live version is so much better than the studio one, which is saying something because the studio versions are absolutely amazing on their own
Same for Hammer to Fall
This is so much better then the original I prefer the live aid versions of these songs to the original counterparts the only thing that’s missing is the second part of bohemian rhapsody
That piano guy can say to his children he played with Queen at Live Aid, that must be an honor.
Spike Edney. He was in the band from 1984
Daniel Kroc he worked with them
He was in the band for The Works and Magic tour and he still tours with Queen today.
