I agree, and I bet with the success of the film at some point we'll get a "director's cut" with the entire Live Aid segment at the end. I mean, they might as well, they filmed it, edited it, mixed it, and put it on the DVD!
For all those wondering why this wasn't in the film, the theatrical release was edited down but they DID in fact film the entire re-enactment of the entire Live Aid gig. It's on the extra features of the Blu Ray. When I watch the movie at home, at the end of the rehearsal scene when Freddie tells the band he has AIDS, I switch over to the special features and run the complete Live Aid gig, then when it's done, switch back to the end of the released film. If you know what you're doing on your bluray player it's actually pretty seamless.
The black guitar that Gwilym Lee plays is Brian May’s actual guitar that he played at Live Aid in 1985. Brian lent it to them for the movie for the Live Aid scene
''This next Song is only dedicated to beautiful people here tonight, It means all of you. Thank you for coming along and making this a great occasion''
I loved the way Lucy, Jim and David are looking at him. They are totally mesmerised and amazed. Especially Lucy with those eyes which are screaming "I'm proud of you Freddie." And those tears 😍
Can we just appreciate that all of the actors did amazingly? Not just the actor for Freddie or Brian? They all knew how to play their instruments and all knew how to act just like their person. Shy deaky sitting in the back trying not to be noticed but enjoying the show, Brian staring at his guitar the whole time
I give props to Joe mazzello, that guy had the role of John deacon ,with minimal footage he was able to portray John deacon perfectly! He also had the opportunity to talk to John Deacon’s son to have more insight on how to portray him ,
Can't stop seeing the real footage and comparing it to this. They did an amazing job!! While Rami Malek is a smaller guy than Freedy you forget all differences once you see him performing just like the man. This scene had great attention to little details, fans will see it once and again.
One of the best things about this movie is the little details like that, like mini conversations in the background between characters, just makes the movie more immersive and realistic. Such a fucking masterpiece.
@@orlandoaugustostock839 after I saw this comment, I went to IMDB and found that it was indeed Timmy from Jurassic Park! What a trip...from dinosaurs to rock god! I don't know if you've ever seen the TV show 7th Heaven, but in the last year it was on, the kid that played T-Bone was in one of the Jurassic Park movies too-the one where they ended up in San Diego. He was the kid that told his parents "There's a dinosaur in our backyard." Crazy!
Freddie is the epitome of what it means to be the best performer of all time. His Stage presence, ability, and control of crowd are things we will never see to that level ever again
Freddie really was only truly alive playing live. The world was literally his stage and no statement rang truer than on the 13th of July 1985 when Freddie and Queen became like a Phoenix and was rejuvenated and reborn is spectacular fashion.
Never noticed that Brian May used 3 guitars during this song... started with an acoustic, switched to his Black Telecaster, then switched to the one he built himself at the end.
Only Freddie could motivate an audience like this. His fans loved him. He has to be the best front man in the business. Great singer songwriter and fantastic to watch. I just can't take my eyes off him at all. Brilliant human being and much missed.
Pineapple Comedy Queen and Elvis are both so legendary, however it saddens me that yall don’t know this was not written by Freddie, Elvis sang it years prior
That was meant to be Jim Hutton, Freddie's partner who he grew very close to (they had just begun seeing each other at that time in real life). David is to Mary's right..

Because it is from live aid
