The more i see other singers trying to do Freddie Mercury the more i realize that he is still unreachable, its not the the range or the power but there is something on the delivery that no other singer can match

Yeah, they are all good singers, but none of them even gets close to what Freddie was able to deliver both as an excellent singer and performer. Even when he became as sick as he did, he kept on going strong till the very end!! The live aid concert truly shows this. Despite being deadly ill, Freddie kept on to the very end.

Jordan Smith hands-down the most formidable singer of the lot. Nobody else came close to his performance and singing ability. He doesn’t sound like Freddie, but cloning Freddie isn’t the point of paying tribute to him in song. He does however, sound freaking amazing. Undeniable chops and soul.

Can't compare to Freddie. He had stage presence and a unmistakable voice. These people can sing undeniably but there will never be another Freddie Mercury.

These people can sing but nothing like the only Freddie. Adam is the only person that comes close to Freddie, close vocally, technically energetically and artistically enough that he doesn’t ruin the songs and you can enjoy the performance in a way Freddie would command . Freddie was unbelievably special, I kick myself because I did not fully appreciate just how amazing Freddie and queen were in the 80’s compared to the way I do now.

I have never been impressed with any Freddie Mercury attempts, but I must say that the first gentleman actually gave me goosebumps! Wow, does he have a set of cords on him! Not all the way Freddie; face it, that's impossible but pretty darn close!
Jordan killed it. Knocked completely out of the park. What I loved about his performance is that he wasn't trying to be Freddy. He did his own version and in spite of not being the typical tall, slender, good-looking guy, he delivered a very soulful rendition of this great song. Wish him all the best. He deserves it.

Freddie had a “certain something” that only he with his physicality could have. Miss him like crazy. Thankfully there are so many great concert videos that help me to remember his greatness!

It is not only that Freddie and Queen could sing, it was the songs they wrote! So many songs and all of them wrote some and let’s not forget they all had college degrees. They were like a perfect storm.
They all have their own distinct voices and decent abilities, but they all do a good job of one thing, and that’s reminding us just how incredible Freddie’s voice was. Nobody else comes close

No matter how good these covers are, or any cover for that matter...Freddy Mercury had one of a kind voice and I doubt anyone could ever come close to his performances. The more covers you hear the more you can confirm this statement
My favorite performance was Jordan Smith. His voice control, riffs and runs, and perfect pitch makes him perfect for this very difficult song to sing.

George Michael was totally channeling Freddie when he performed “Somebody to Love” at Freddie’s memorial concert (The Mercury Phoenix Trust, in 1992) even down to drawing in the audience to sing it along with him. He hit every note perfectly too.
It didn’t hurt that Brian, Roger and John were doing the background vocals. Just them and Freddie could make it sound like a large chorus of singers, or as Freddie said, “It’s the Queen sound.”
The rest of the stars who sang didn’t do as well as George. He got the audience up on their feet and involved. Amazing performance.

The boy singing bohemian rhapsody was really good. He was really nervous you could tell. That is an incredibly difficult song. I couldn't imagine having to play that on the piano and sing with all that pressure. Once chairs turned around you notice how much better he got. It's relief. That's the thing about singing...it's incredibly hard to disguise your emotions. That will come with experience. Very gifted young man.
There’s only 1 FREDDIE . That man was AMAZING. His voice,moves, charisma and the way he owned the crowd will never be duplicated. Every time a Queen song comes on the radio you just have to move and sing with it. Freddie was magnificent and he is sadly missed.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's fascinating how Freddie Mercury is held to a higher standard than just a "cover." Whenever a Queen song is featured, the bar is raised to the stratosphere. A Queen song isn't a "song," it's a freakin' masterpiece.

There will never be anyone to come close to Freddie Mercury. How a man as talented as him never won a Grammy still baffles me. I am just beyond thankful that I'm old enough and lucky enough to have seen Queen in concert. I was 9 years old, and it was my first ever concert. WHAT a first concert it was! Nobody I've seen since has ever come close to what I witnessed that day in July of 1982!

@@Rainmaker65 I just listened to Mark Martel. The reason he sounds so much like Mercury is that he makes it a point to annunciate the lyrics. All his wording is very sharp & crisp the way Mercury delivered his songs. You wouldn't think a rock group would be so pristine about the delivery of their songs but Mercury was a perfectionist, evidenced by "Bohemian Rapsody". No one else could have pulled off that song, & Mercury actually sang all the parts (all the key changes). Freddie Mercury was an absolute genius.
