This is what I love about City Skylines. A relatively simple update, but it is completely game changing and will revolutionise people's city designs (especially for console users like myself who don't have access to mods or the workshop) and offer options for previous city revamps as well. I can't wait to see what people like Biffa & City Planner Plays does with these!
Verde Beach will be getting a remake with this dlc haha
Can't wait to see them use this dlc.
You are right when you say specially for console players, in the PC if you have traffic manager and pedestrian streets you already have what they give out in this update :)
This is going to be great for the sunken metro in downtown area! Cant wait myself
@@deblou7 Yeah that was one I thought about too. You could make a huge pedestrian area all around it, with bus connections too!
@@dmore Yes, buses, trams, metro and train can all work in the same area but people will walk straight to them without the need of building lots of raised walkways to get them away from that busy zone... its going to vastly improve the downtown traffic flow imo plus those local shopping precincts, the waterfront areas.. the possibilities are endless :)
Thank you so much for allowing me to make these tutorials! Really looking forward to what everyone is going to build with all the great new stuff! 😍
Egg!!! Congrats on the colab! :D
"Hello people"
You’re the best. This just makes it official. Enjoy your day!
Thank you for being so awesome!
noobs guide...
Wow. The bollards sinking to allow certain vehicles through and then rising back up is a really neat detail.
That’s 8GB of RAM and 10FPS right there.

Woop woop OE!!! Fantastic video - well done bud 🙂
Thank you, Biffa! 🥰
Great guide, Egg!! Looking forward to seeing the next videos!!
Cheers, Phil! ❤️
Yey!! You definitely chose the best creator to showcase this dlc, no better vanilla detailer out there! So excited to get playing with this new DLC, looks awesome!
Thank you so much, FewC! Thats really nice of you to say 🥰
Agreed! Great job Egg!
Imperatur is really good too I think :)
I Second thus
Oo, piece a candy 🍬
Seeing Cims walk around my cities has been a big factor in keeping me coming back to this game. It's so satisfying to watch. It's so nice to now have the ability to make FULLY WALKABLE cities without having to rely on car infrastructure too.
If you love the cims walking there is an awesome short on OE's channel of cims walking via connections from one transport stop to another, could watch them cims all day!!
@@guvnorcitiesshowcase yes, seeing sims, cars and trains moving is the best reward
OMG, this is more than a couple of assets. I loooooove the micromanagement of adding the service points for cargo and trash, pretty realistic. I'm really excited for this.
The service points are overkill. I don't want to place down a service point for every little pedestrian street. It's also not very logical
@@lewitm4591 Feel like it should be based around some details how many stores there are etc, not just needing it for the sake of it?
@@lewitm4591 Service points apply to the area, not for every street. If you want, make use of fragmented area trick.
@@lewitm4591 Since game engine is a relic, they have to make into a mold.
New stuff= need new zone= center point to regulate other feature. They make it like it's a whole seperate package and stick it into the game. And doesn't mix it well.
So pleased for you EGG, and pleased for paradox as they are starting to show the future of Cities: Skylines…. more flexible pedestrianisation and detailing! ( ie more EGG and Few ‘isms ). I just hope the new content has some new fences for you too !
Definitely going to mod out the need for pedestrian services if a building borders at least one normal road. That's just silly. Putting a pedestrian road down doesn't prevent trash being collected on a perpendicular street.
The ‘won’t function’ comment was a bit unclear. Was it the shop or the road he meant? Edit: icon seems to show building not working
I agree, it's absurd
That’s probably either unintentional(just to show off the function) or a dumb oversight. Fingers crossed it gets patched before release
That is probably a way to set backstreet access, so clients access from the front while services from the back
Yeah, I didn't get the shown example either.
The only road I miss is pedestrian road with tram (it could be available after Snowfall purchased). It's very common in European cities. One of the examples is main square in Katowice, PL.
Just pull a simple tram track between two pedestrian roads
Unfortunately, the dlcs aren’t intercompatable, which can severely limit their useability
There will be tram pedestrian road assets on the workshop soon I’d imagine.
I'm sure that someone will mod tram tracks into the new streets, but even then with mods you can enable zoning on the snowfall tram track (no garbage collection but this new DLC should fix that)
the usual tram tracks already come with sidewalks where people walk too, but it's not zonable
GET THAT VANILLA SPICE
I cannot overstate how big this expansion is for the community. One of the main criticisms of base-game Cities: Skylines is that it's car-centric, this mod helps with that. I personally have been scouring for mods and assets that simulate what this expansion seamlessly does like the bollards, services vehicles, shared streets, etc.
You guys defo made the right choice in creators to present the new content! And, thanks for continuing to provide new stuff for the game!
One thing I don't like is the service points, every building should still function with only personal vehicles banned, so still allow delivery vehicles (maybe not trucks). That's how these areas work in real life. The service point should be optional not mandatory.
Edit: Another option is backroads, that connect to backs of buildings.
They show a cop driving through the neighbourhood.
Why not include all service vehicles or roads that do/do not allow non-emergency service traffic.
Garbage truck is a truck. No, I don't think letting a police car or fire engine enter a pedestrian road on demand is the same as garbage truck entering a pedestrian road periodically.
But I agree, some sort of "side road" or "back road" or "walking distance from vehicle road" should be allowed to skip service point requirements.
So excited for this DLC. Pedestrian streets have always been my favourites in a city and seeing cims walk is always so satisfying. Going to be fun utilizing all these new assets. Also Overcharged Egg is the best person for this pack's tutorials. His cities are known for their walkability.
Egg doing a tutorial of the dlc? Yes please!
Shall we?
Couldn’t of picked a better content creator for this DLC. This has Overcharged Egg all over it. The Vanilla detailing master.
Have been waiting for this for so long. Finally we can make realistic modern shopping centers without mods. Love you guys chose O-Egg to do the presentation. He's great at vanilla detailing. Now we only need parking lots and garages. Maybe payed parking specialization, tow trucks? Anyway we are on the right track.
Oh wow this looks a lot better than I expected, nice
2:10 for a second I thought we'd get pedestrian tram roads too, you had me going there
I hope they fix the levitating citizens before release... But, the auto paint feature, are we finally going to have that feature built-in?! I'm really anal with the district painting and I just try to make perfect so this is a big plus for me...
He said it was a new feature, so yes, auto-painting is now a thing. I think it is only usable for painting pedestrian areas while building pedestrian streets, but it’s still great.
hahahaha! Called it! One of the best detailers around. Love that Egg is doing this!!!
You DID call it this morning, Sarah!!!! Amazing!!!!
Now we need Mixed Zoning and we'll have a perfect game.
If they could magically update their engine I would then say CS is easily a perfect game with more perfection to come. I am actually satisfied with the game, the DLCs were worth the money as my wife and I play this game for hours while talking. The Steam Workshop assets are amazing and the DLCs just keep getting better.
You should check out the Custom Zone Mixer mod if you play the game on pc
The Best Vanilla Cities Builder to show off these new assets/DLC etc... Did such a great job showing off how beautiful these new assets can be used!!!
Egg!!! You love to see it!
Love to see you too, Mouse
Love your tutorials, Mouse! You and Egg are just fantastic creators! Thank you both!!
I don't know why, but the animation of the retracting bollards is so satisfying! Like it wasn't just some aesthetic thrown in, no it's actually fully functional! I agree with FewCandy, you're the best creator to showcase this DLC!
Yes! This is perfect!
The King of detailing to showcase the new content!
Oh yes oh yes oh yes!
Very happy to see this content added to our favourite city builder game and thanks Overcharged for the good explanation. I wonder if 9 tiles are still enough to use all these new contents and the big airport too.
9 tiles were never enough for me. I've been using mods for this matter since before any of these dlcs even came out.
Dude, this looks so awesome! Great job OE! I'm so happy you got to do this! Well deserved 😀
So excited for this DLC - looks brilliant!! Perfect content creator to show it off too. Overcharged Egg is an incredible detailer!!
I honestly can’t wait to see what OE does with these packs.
Suuuch a dedicated player. I’ve learnt so much from him.
Very excited for this new content and even more excited to have one of my absolute favourite creators walking me through it. Win for everyone involved, especially me.
Long live Cities Skylines!
The real question is whether a pedestrian area can have direct rail cargo service. If not, I'll figure out a way to do it with mods.
Maybe some trickery with the building spawn point mod?
Their previews showed a rail line pulling up so I'm thinkin they will. We'll just have to wait for the next video, haha
Why would you need that? Do you want your cims to directly grab their groceries from the train..?
@@Nickayz2 I'm assuming that service points are locations for commercial buildings in the pedestrian zone to receive deliveries. Wondering if the deliveries have to be by truck/van or if railcars could be used.
They have said that it won’t be added in the DLC, so you’ll have to use the Steam Workshop for that. Essentially, vanilla cargo service points only accept trucks and vans.
2:45 "Functional bollards..."
2:46
:D
I cannot wait to see what you and FewCandy come up with using all these new pedestrian assets.
I feel like making every new expansion be just new districts is kind of a bummer
I'm excited for this update, don't get me wrong, but if a system for banning personal vehicles on pedestrian (like TM:PE) was in this expansion it would seem easier to implement in a city. You could still allow cargo and service vehicles to go on the streets to service buildings.
Or even better yet, add service roads or alley ways to allow cargo trucks to enter the back of commercial buildings
Anyway, definitely excited, hopefully there is a tram pedestrian road
This is awesome! Can't wait!
So much inspiration in my head already!
Tnx for the tutorial @Overcharged Egg
So pleased you are doing the tutorial for this new DLC, you taught me a massive amount about this game and this DLC is going to be huge fun, so many places that these zones would be so much better... Thanks Egg... look forward to the next instalment :)
Congrats on the collaboration Egg!!!! Been watching you for a while and this makes me proud 🥲
The DLC looks great! I’m really excited for it. Some questions;
1) can the new road types be raised/lowered?
2) how’s the mod compatibility situation? Will move-it, etc work with the new update?
Thanks!
I know that CO has been collaborating with major modders earlier to ensure that mods keep working, I assume that mods like Move it and other major mods will be updated on release, or shortly after. Many mods will most likely be working with no updates at all too.
3:20 a bit worrying the number of pedestrians ignoring / violating the crosswalks. Is there an option to force at least a large percentage of them to follow the stripes here? It looks a bit silly -- let alone dangerous -- with hoards of them walking straight across such a large high-traffic interseciton.
As a newbie player I'm excited for this new DLC :) Cannot wait! And Overcharged Egg just got a new subscriber lol :D
Thank you 😌
What an amazing new DLC! Definitely game-changing. And a Paradox/Overcharged Egg collab to demonstrate all of the new shineys to the fans of this game. YES PLEASE! What could be more perfect. 💖
Ohhh this is so exciting to see, can't wait for it to be released to everyone 💖 great video
This looks cool and oh yea NOVERIA is the best series ever in CS. Ready for CS 2 as well.
Sweet can’t wait for this Expansion…
Every time I watch this I get more excited!!!!
They just keep feeding my addiction for this game with these DLCs.
Bus only roads YES please!!! Will make bus terminals so much better
This is excellent! I will certainly use this in my cities!
Wow! What a great start to the tutorials! I look forward to more and the movable bollards.
The Sim City devs are punching air right now. This is amazing!
Its sad what EA did to Sim City. I miss Maxis.
For PC users, mods can already do all this and better. Not to mention it's not restricted by having YET ANOTHER zone type.
Thas why it's aiming for us console users. We all know pc users haves mods and nice as tools and assets we know this already... But dam can ya let us console owners have our little bit time. I mean y'all don't mind.
@@MrWhitesoxfalife Nah of course you can have it and i'm happy that console users are getting more content and whatnot that's why i specifically said PC users, because what i said does not apply to console users.
@@RossenX But note that some expansion packs, especially content creator packs, directly funds the workshop creators themselves. For example: Train Stations was developed by BadPeanut, creator of workshop roads and stations.
Yes! Our Egg is being featured by Paradox! Can't wait for this DLC and the CCPs!
I'd love to see some sort of planning tool added in the future. It would really help to start new cities when cash is tight to prevent having to go back and totally rework where you started
i am so excited that new content was created for this game. i hope this isn't the last one , but it gives me a great reason to start a whole new city.
Egg is the perfect choice for this
Loving this! keep up the good work, best game and dev team ever
Fantastic introduction to the new DLC! And by our OE! Best vanilla detailer in the business
I knew it would work with the area tools we’ve seen in Parklife, Industries, Campus and Airports! Also, I think I’ll use cobblestone streets in my first pedestrian area.
this is awesome, i've been waiting for something like this for my amsterdam build
Looks great and Egg is perfect for this series! I'm a little disappointed that these roads won't function properly without being a "pedestrian zone, as if commercial and trash vehicles aren't allowed to drive on these roads. I don't see why they can't just function as normal roads that only allow essential vehicles through.
I'm buying this one too as soon as it comes out! I was annoyed everything seemed to be a theme pack or music pack or creator asset pack all things they didn't even do any work for... So annoyed I thought up an idea which I'm polishing off to send to Paradox/CO. Hopefully we see another DLC that actually expands the gameplay! Great work Paradox/CO, you finally released another DLC and people are chomping at the bit to buy it :D
This is simply game changing
Nice. At last.. I can make a friendly pedestrian cities. Hype 🤗
Nice 1st video explaining.
On a side note, now with the new DLC's (the stuff and fixes) we get there is only one thing left to change/fix and that is "lock" the Airport DLC to the same "Unlock-Tier" as the vanilla Airport. ;)
It will be cool if the devs add parking lots in this DLC to be used in vanilla cities
This is something I've dreamed of for this game for so long. I can't wait to buy this DLC!
Whenever I see more of this, it makes me so much more excited to get it. :D And think of what the modding community can do with this...
Finally! I won't have to use mods to make my beachside boardwalks! This is a game-changer!

Are there any pedestrian roads with dedicated bicycle lanes on them? I know that cyclists can use pedestrian roads, but it would be nice to set aside some dedicated bicycle infrastructure for cyclists.
I love this, it is one of the main thing I thought was missing
Has anyone noticed that those wall to wall buildings make really good midrise buildings? They look good, and they fit the transition zone from towndown to neighborhood perfectly?
This looks even better than I thought
Look forward to seeing a return of Palevan in a new expansion add on!!.
Very nice, tx. About the last bit of the video: loads of pedestrians are jaywalking diagonally across the crossroads, carefully avoiding the zebras. I guess it is a tweak for cities of a larger size :)
The detail behind this DLC looks epic
Looks great, looking forward to the pedestrian roads specifically. Though I am missing a pedestrian road with bike lanes and a mixed pedestrian/tram road.
It's unfortunate that curb lips (i.e., slopes on sidewalk curbs at crosswalks) aren't modeled.
Thanks paradox for giving the love to consoles still
This updates gonna be awesome for How we’ll be able make our citys….but the only thing Im missing atm would be the ability to put Metro tracks on top of four lane roads like with the Monorail (sadly not a fan of the monorail at all)
I can't wait for this! Oh my word I am so excited
Can't wait to use it on my huge city, I want to apply the superblocks strategy from Barcelona. I am really curious how it will work out ❤️
Lets gooo overcharged egg! Love eggs content!
This is so cool, it will be great for my European old city, this is very nice
Now this does look good!
I always liked seeing pedestrians walk all over the place why I hardly every build bus stops. You would be surprised how far they will walk and some probably get to their destination faster than if they waited at that crowded bus stop. This will be interesting.
I am really looking foward to this DLC. I just cannot wait for people to create some large, nice and creative Plazas, roads, and Promenades :) I am definitly buying this DLC at launch
Terrific!
This expansion is gonna be a lot of fun!
🤩 I cannot wait for the spicy detail in your cities with this DLC, this had been made for you and your style of city building 🌶🌶🌶
This DLC will add so much to the game, especially for Vanilla players like me. I just love the designs of the new pedestrian roads. And the bollard feature is just amazing.
As soon as I heard Egg 😻😻😻
Si hype, thanks you for the great job, live your game 🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is so exciting. Can't wait.
Definitely a game changing dlc. The new assets look beautiful, and I can't wait to see no more traffic jams since everyone will be walking.
