    perhaps you can also clean out the window tracks with Q-Tips or a cloth rag to help remove any dirt before applying the lube ! also spray the top window seal - it will help keep the window from freezing shut during the winter !

I've greased the rollers and guides in the door but I can tell the felt is getting old in the track and I think the window is rubbing raw spots in the track that are more like rubber than felt now. Good video Mike.....in the late 80's up to the death of Tom Knapp I worked at developing various compounds for cleaning and lubricating firearms. I focused on solvent free, water soluble, non-flammable, non-toxic ingredients. Dry lube was not readily available then..in fact only one company in New Jersey made it. Tribology. I convinced the owner to sell me small batches in spray cans and put my label on them. The REAL trick was convincing shooters to abandon petroleum based products even after I demonstrated the superiority of the dry lube.......
    The choice to choose and video the use of the dry lube was BRILLIANT....
    All the best

    Interesting approach with the teflon spray. I had previously heard silicon spray recommended. CRC makes a spray can of food grade silicon which is safe for use in commercial kitchens and food processing facilities which I think might work as well as the water repellent spray; but the teflon dry lube looks like the cream on the top.

    Great video.
    Quick questions;
    Should you let the products dry between applications?
    Also, should you run the windows up and down with the products wet or let them dry?
    I’m thinking running the windows with the products wet would help get the products on the glass too.

    • @SweetProjectCars
      @SweetProjectCars  2 роки тому +5

    So I went to Walmart and bought the blue kiwi camp dry performance fabric protector waterproof and then I bought WD-40 gel lube but the windows don't seem to really be making a huge difference Do one of those ingredients not match up right? Is there a reason why this didn't work why do I need those exact ones? I just didn't want to have to order them off Amazon cuz I didn't want to wait anyway just curious if you guys know thank you
