    100% correct fix for this problem. The silicone spray lubricates the rubber window seal. I am in the autobody business and we use this all the time. Over time the rubber seal dries up and this restores it to like new condition.

      i have a issue with a 05 gmc sierra passenger window , it goes down and up fine but when going up it makes a squeeking noise from the window seal , not the side tracks but the rubber that your arm would rest on, i have tryed to clean it and put lube on it and it has helped but do you have any recommendations? Im wondering if you can replace them?

    When you sprayed at the bottom of the track in the door and said "let it flow down" - was truly a Eureka moment... I've taken door panels off, I ought to know this already but - only now do I realize THE TRACK GOES DOWN INSIDE THE DOOR and is the exact same material as the rest of the track... the light bulb finally went off for me - thanks for that.

    Yes, those felt runners and the guides get dry over time and weather. We use the CRC HD Silicone Spray on those and it keep them soft and supple so they give as the window goes through them vs. the stiff and hard felt that will bind. Sadly, the felt materials used today just don't last as long as they used to. The silicone spray works well with all weatherstriping and seals etc. Even around ignition wires and electrical connections, it helps keep moisture away while preserving the plastics and flexible materials. Vacuum hoses etc benefit from it just the same.

    • @robertmaybeth3434
      @robertmaybeth3434 2 роки тому +1

      I always sprayed the silicone on my own car doors, for decades, from the first time I read you ought to do it. My dad had an old Dodge Mirada though, he never bothered doing that. The result was predictable, after 20 years they crumble like crepe paper. Ever tried replacing weather-stripping/door seals?? UGH it's the worst job I can think of almost... just one try at that, and I never forgot to treat the seals ever again -

    The problem is the tint film on the windows. As an old technician and after hundreds of window motor, window regulator replacements I can assure you that 8 out of 10 of the vehicles with failed or poorly performing window mechanisms had tinted windows. This lube trick will only work for a few days. Get the tint off and clean off all of the glue and I would be willing to bet the slow movement of the glass will magically disappear.

    • @OneWildTurkey
      @OneWildTurkey 3 місяці тому

      That's why windows that were tinted properly don't have any film on the edge where the window slides up and down.

    • @ajseusa1488
      @ajseusa1488 2 місяці тому +1

      @@OneWildTurkey The problem is that the friction is increased for the bottom seal at the top edge of the door panel all the way across the glass as the glass goes up and is usually even worse when going down. The friction of the windows movement has increased because none of the tint films have a lower friction component than the bare window glass does by itself. Yes, you can cut the seal back so as not to rub, but then there is a problem of wind noise and drafts created. There is no way that I have ever found that completely gets rid of the increased friction when using a plastic window film liner. This is based on 40+ years of car experience. P.S. Take the inside door panel off first when testing a slow moving tinted window and it will usually move at normal speed. That has been true for me in about 8 out of 10 times.

    • @OneWildTurkey
      @OneWildTurkey 2 місяці тому

      @@ajseusa1488 I've been lucky then. I've got a '96 Chrysler minivan with aftermarket window tint. The film is everywhere except on the vertical side of the glass where it rides up the channel, and it hasn't ever given us any problems, so I figured that must have made a difference.

      Now I don't really care about the overspray though it doesn't hurt anything you just have to wipe it down when you're done

    Can you explain and discuss/demonstrate the F150 "frozen door" problem and recall/SB? My 2018 Raptor Super Cap freezes on cold days such that doors will open, but will not latch when closing. Dealer did a service for this which did not work, then the recall or service bulliten came out and they did that (or so they say), ut it did not help at all.
