My passanger side electric window on my car is noticably slower than the driver side I'm gonna try this even though my car is a 2015 Vauxhall Viva or known in Europe as a Opel Karl
So when it rains, wouldn't that gum up the dry lubricant? Silicone based lube doesn't run in the rain and is safe for rubber and paint. (Unlike a patroleum based lubricant)
Fluid film is great for rust protection and I use it on my truck. But it gets pretty thick and tacky quickly. It also leaves a waxy residue that yellows over time. I'm not sure it would be a good product for window channels. It too may be good for a short time. If you do find something that works and last, please let us know!
I agree that the lube will make the windows operate near-new again, but the problem is that it is a TEMPORARY fix. If you perform this on a weekly basis, you will have perfectly functioning windows!
I usually just do it at the beginning of summer and at the beginning of winter. Seems to be effective enough to keep them operating quickly and smoothly. It's just part of my normal maintenance now.
I'd recommend the silicone grease tube or tub that way it lays on there thicker and lasts longer than a thin film from a spray bottle
This video is a breath of fresh air. Thank you!
This worked on my Truck. I have manual windows and the driver side was very hard to roll up. Huge improvement.
You sound like an Announcer or radio personality! Thanks for the window tip!
I did this with the same can of lube as shown in the video, and it ate the finish off of the rubber on some of the trim around the window.
Been using it on an 01 Ford truck, a 99 towncar and a 2014 escape. No issues so far, but will keep a closer eye on it.

A dry lube stick you would use on the door latches is better as it lasts longer.
I heard PTFE (Teflon) lasts longer than silicon.
👍definitely save some money. Did quite a few of these in the past for people who thought motor was bad. Good tip.
Use a dry powder spray lubricant instead. And clean those tracks first!

Wd40 ptfe dry spray never clumps of gunks. Each particle is slippery so they repel one another. They also don't accumulate dirt like greases do
The bottom rubber is slowing mine down , I don’t have side tracks as it’s a convertible. The bottom rubber bends when the window is going up
That's still going up and down faster than mines 🙈🤣🤣🤣
This will work for the short term, but would a different product like "fluid film'" be better since it will last MUCH longer than silicone spray?

I used wd 40 silicone spray.
Yearly maintenance
I just learned this myself
Very cool. Thanks

Can i use wd40
Maybe, but keep in mind wd40 is a water displacement formula and not a very good long term lubricant. It probably would wash away pretty fast.
1. Smash the window. 2. Fixed.
Funny methods:
1. Buy a new car. 2. Fixed.
1. Just keep it down forever. 2. Fixed
why do you need power windows, haven't got arms?..
Bad shoulder.
Why do you need a car? Haven’t got feet? 🙄
