The plastic in your door is called a moisture barrier. It keeps moisture that drains down in the window Channel from seeping into your vehicle or to your door panel. It does very little if anything with sound reduction.

We call the plastic a moisture barrier at the factory where we build these. Regulators are prelubed by vendors when they come in before install. Regulators are sharp as razor blades use gloves..lol I get cut all the time.
Great vid! I sure miss the Slick50 tube grease, used it for my boat trailer wheel bearings for years, thousands of miles and never had a bearing failure. Wish i could still get it.

Great idea. Lithium grease is better for plastic on plastic and not great in the door mechanism. Long term silicone will be better especially when dusty.
@@SweetProjectCarsI'm confused which type of lube to use on windows... I've seen you recommend the Blaster Dry Silicone before. If you would please tell me the very best product for the window tracks, and ill be spraying the portion of the tracks that are accessible after rolling down the window (I will like *not* be removing the door panel). So you basically create one dedicated cap for the bent tubing and then you swap caps depending on other needs, is that right? When you snap the cap into place, do you just do it as quickly as possible to minimize the depression and spray out?

I found one of the best super glue is Permatex Ultrabond and its non toxic so you can use it on your cuts if you're bleeding 💪

Eddie, you probably could but the best lube to use for your window tracks is called Dry Lube. Works good 👍

I had no luck using WD40 Specialist Silicone to lube my window tracks. They are still very vague. Going to try the Slick 1 Lube.

The window channels run down the front and back of the door you need to lube the channel from top of door to the bottom rail ending
