You are an amazingly perceptive young man. I came across your channel while unable to sleep tonight and missing my husband of 32 years who has passed away. During those years we spent countless hours listening to Pink Floyd and this was his favorite song. And yes, I too hope that we get to see those that we’ve lost again.
We lost our daughter back in September, one week after her 49th birthday. She loved PF, went to many of their concerts, and was also a huge Grateful Dead fan. Her entire life was dominated by drug issues, and ever increasing health problems. She spent her last six years back home with my wife and me, after her fiancé died of an overdose from cocaine and fentanyl. Thankfully, she was clean and sober the entire time she lived with us. I'm dedicating ' Wish You Were here ' to Mary Ann, our youngest of only two daughters. We miss you very much honey, and hope that by some great design we will meet again in some other realm or dimension. Love, Dad and Mom
I am so so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine having to bury a child. I’m so glad she got to spend her last years with mom and dad and sober. Sending love and thoughts from my family in Canada to you are yours. Hang in there. Again I’m so Terri sorry , you got me weeping … and it’s ok. Love you guys.
Little brother, you are experiencing musics power to move us in a way nothing else does. Don't ever be afraid of tears, little brother. I'm 64 and still weep when I listen to a small number of particular songs, not just because it's a great song but because it takes me back to another place and time. Another life I left behind.

Are we not lucky to be alive in this time period. Pink Floyd are without doubt the greatest band of all time, I’m knocking on the door of 73 and been a fan for ever and was lucky enough to see them twice in the early 90’s . More PF please 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I Wish You Were Hear was released on Sept 12th 1975. This concert must of been 1994. Also: you can throw Pink Floyd on once a month for the next 3 years and nobody would complain.
My grandmother died in '87 when I was finishing my high school freshman year. This is the album I played at 1am when I got the call from my mom. Saw this live at Pulse in El Paso, TX. Special album and song. Listen to it every time life takes another one away. Like most of Floyd, it seems to mean more to me the more mileage I get behind me. Going on 53 and this song often makes me full on cry.
Even after 16 years I think of things I'd like to be able to show my mom. Restaurants I like, TV shows, music I listen to, or discussing politics and current events. Almost every day.
Even though original singer and guitarist, Syd Barrett was *technically* only on their first album, he cast a *HUGE* shadow over Pink Floyd. They wrote entire albums about him!
Wow 50k. I have been here since the beginning. I think you might have had 2-3k. Awesome bro! Super stoked for you This song is dedicated to my father. He was my best friend. He died 3 years ago. One of the best live shows I have ever seen. Saw this performed in Minneapolis in 1994, with my good buddy Steve. Unreal. Steve is gone now, died several years ago from a rare physical condition. Watching this, with you, and reading other comments really made him come back into my mind. Thanks.
@@James-lk2sgIt was released in ‘75, that doesn’t mean this person heard it then. There are plenty of albums that pre-date my lifetime, or that I simply wasn’t aware of on their release. Many people mistakenly think this is about Syd Barrett, but in an interview Roger Waters said quite emphatically that the only song on the WYWH album that was about Syd was "Shine on you crazy diamond". He went on to say that when he wrote the lyrics to "Wish You Were Here" he had in mind someone close who had refused to move on in life and had been left behind. He also said that at other times it meant something else, and that some days he didn't really know what it meant himself. He deliberately made the lyrics enigmatic so that the listener could make them mean whatever they wanted them to mean, and they have become an anthem for anyone who has lost someone close to them. David Gilmour has said that he often thinks of Syd when he's performing it, even though it wasn't written about him. The opening guitar chords were composed by David Gilmour who had in mind someone listening to a poor quality radio all alone in their bedroom late at night, and upon hearing the guitar joining in himself with the crisper sound of the second guitar. Overall, a stunningly beautiful composition, both instrumentally and lyrically, and a work of complete genius. I associate it with someone very close and special that I lost long ago and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye.
It's a sentiment that stands the test of time. It was already a couple decades old by this concert 30 years ago! The way it affected you is the way it affects everyone who actually listens to it. Glad to see you've come back around to a bit more diversity 😊
Yes yes YES more Pink Floyd. My top 2 favorite songs of all time are both Floyd. “Shine on You Crazy Diamond (all 9 parts) and “Echoes live at Pompei (part 1 & 2). They are both very long (26 minutes), but don’t feel like it. Great reaction. Keep up the good work buddy!!!

I HAD ALL THE PINK FLOYD " DARK SIDE THE MOON" ONE OF MOON AND THE WALL WERE MY FAVORITE!! BEAUTIFUL REACTION MOLLYBOY AND THANK YOU WHOMEVER REQUESTED THIS GEM!! 😊 💓 🤘 ✌️ IT DEFINITELY PUTS YOU IN A MOOD.
Dude. My father died in the hospital. I was with him then. When the family left the hospital, I got in my truck. Started it up, and the song that started playing, was Wish You Were Here. I cried so hard. It still gets to me every time. Pink Floyd is just different.
"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year. Running over the same old ground, what have we found, the same old fears"....these are majestic lyrics - and I think lyrics that hit a lot of people right in the feels (like a lot of Pink Floyd lyrics). They did for me from the first time I heard the song 😢💕
This is one of 'our' songs. Went to a pink Floyd concert shortly after we met. I've been telling how much I love Mollyboy. I just pushed this reaction in his hand and said "...and this is why"❤
We all love Pink Floyd but we understand the sheer enormous volume of great bands for you to react to from the classic rock era. You can probably do this until you're as old as I am and not run out of material. It's why the era from the late 50's til about the mid 90's is the greatest time for music in human history (special shout out to the 70's, the absolutely greatest decade of all).
If i had to pick only one decade for music, it would be the 70s. 80s would be my second pick. Third would probably be 90s. Then it might be a toss up between 00s and 60s. I was born in 1970 and I don't think my opinion is so much about my age but just the quality of music pumped out in the 70s, much of which I didn't discover until during the 80s and some of which (like deeper cuts by Judas Priest and Molly Hatchet) I'm still discovering in the last 5 or so years.
@paulsiebeneicher4536 Agree but I think I'd rate the 70's, 80's, then 60's. To me 90's was good but quality fell off after the first half. Plus I'm older than you and may have had more exposure to 60's.
@roadkill7314 , that was a ranking I also considered. We do agree on 70s first then 80s. I did hear a lot of 60s stuff especially in my college years however I won't assume i heard as much 60s as you did. It's a tough call in a way because I can agree that the 60s were critical in laying the foundation for what came after, but a lot of what came after might resonate more with me. A couple related notes, I respect The Beatles but never got heavily into them, plus I respect Jimi Hendrix but I'm more about great songs than great performers, and I'll take a lot of post-Hendrix songs over Hendrix songs, despite his musical talent. So like I agree that artists like Beatles and Hendrix paved the way for stuff that followed, however, I prefer the stuff that followed.
2005, live8, the last time the original line up( after Syd) of pink floyd played together, Roger Waters, original bass player, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and the late Richard Wright. They got back together to do the charity concert. Try one from that show and hear the difference.
Wondered when you were gonna loop back around to Pink Floyd. Never stray to far from these legends they are still so moving and relevant today. Reminds me of why I subscribed so many months ago. Thank you for your excitement and your respect with these Greats!
The album starts and finishes with Shine on you crazy diamond which is about Sid, He turned up during the recording of this but his head was completely fried and he never really functioned from 68 onwards (too much acid), Of this Roger Waters who wrote the lyrics said it's about whatever the listener wants it to be about, There is a really good series called classic albums and its basically the band talking about the recording of classic albums and both Wish you were here and DSOTM are on it. hearing thosei nvolved in the making, the band, the engineers give you a really insight. I saw them twice back in the 88 on the delicate sound of thunder tour and in 2 weeks I'm going to see Nick Masons Saucerful of Secrets (The drummer) This band changed my life. I had just turned 11 in November 79 when another brick was released and saved all my pocket money to buy the album and within a couple of weeks had 4 paper rounds so I could afford to buy more music and I haven't changed.
I don't watch just because you react to pink Floyd. I watch because of your reactions to all sorts of music. It's especially good to watch you find a new band you have never heard of, and actually get down with. Keep up the great work my man. Love your work!
Pink Floyd is one of my dad's favorite bands. As we both get older, I have been secretly recording him sing in his office. I will love listening to him sing this song when he is gone. I know that this song will forever be the song that brings a tear to my eye. It has a way of putting u in your feels like no other.
Nice reaction to a deep song. Had this played at my Dads funeral. He played Pink Floyd to me since i was zero. Dark side of the moon is maybe/probably the best album ever. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Been to one in the city in the 90’s. I have no idea if I was Queens. 😂. I was with friends from Long Island. But it was great. We partied and went everywhere that day. Great memory
I would really love for you to discover Porcupine Tree, Anesthetize Live...they are similar in taking you on a journey with their music. I think it'll be another rabbit hole for you! Anyway, love the reactions, more Pink Floyd can't hurt, either! lol
Most guitartists plug into an amp, David plugs into his soul! High Hopes, Hey you, Brain Damage/Eclipse are just a few you should check out. Great reaction!
You still have Pink Floyd fans on your channel. Pink Floyd is my favorite band, although for a time my favorite band was Dire Straits and for a time between then and now Queensryche was my favorite band. A lot of us are probably fans of a lot of bands, so we don't leave if you just stop covering one of many bands.

BEAUTIFUL REACTION MOLLYBOY AND THANK YOU WHOMEVER REQUESTED THIS GEM!! 😊 💓 🤘 ✌️ IT DEFINITELY PUTS YOU IN A MOOD.
Goodbye Blue Sky is my favorite of all time
Yes 1994 and I'm happy to say I went to this tour. Best concert I've been to and I have been to alot. 😊
Love Pink Floyd....my favorite song is Time.
Pink Floyd, "Another Brick in the Wall part 2" was the song of my youth
Yes , Please more of Pink Floyd , With that R.I.P. Sid Barrett and Richard Wright !
This is one of my all-time favorite songs. A lot of metal heads are Pink Floyd fans. Keep digging both veins.
@paulsiebeneicher4536 It's all good; a minor taste difference. Now if you hadn't had 70's first we might have come to blows!
@@roadkill7314 ha ha fair enough. Have a great weekend.
They r my #1 fav of all time, so I'm always in for some Floyd. Pulse is one of the best concerts ever. Brilliant. Thanx so much, Peace
The overwhelming feeling youve just had about showing your flat to your long gone loved ones is brilliant and soooo human.....beautiful
We used to have Laser-Light-shows at a planetarium in Queens, NY which were just SIIICK!!! Enjoy the journey 🫶🤘🏼🙌🏻❤️
Been to one in the city in the 90’s. I have no idea if I was Queens. 😂. I was with friends from Long Island. But it was great. We partied and went everywhere that day. Great memory
Our Youngest daughter was born in 1994 and she loved Pink Floyd. She took her life in 2016...this was played at her funeral.
The Great Gig in the Sky performance from this concert is one of my favorite live Floyd songs ever, defintely check it out.
I would really love for you to discover Porcupine Tree, Anesthetize Live...they are similar in taking you on a journey with their music. I think it'll be another rabbit hole for you! Anyway, love the reactions, more Pink Floyd can't hurt, either! lol
Pink Floyd = Meaningful Music with their special message. 🇦🇺
😭 CRYING..... IT REMIND'S ME OF MY FATHER AND 2 BROTHER'S PASSING👈♥️ 🎸🎶🎵
Pink Floyd fan still here. Stuck around as Ive enjoyed some of your other reactions to other songs 😊 glad you've come back to Floyd
Most guitartists plug into an amp, David plugs into his soul! High Hopes, Hey you, Brain Damage/Eclipse are just a few you should check out. Great reaction!
Yeah! I am a old man and this song makes me remember ones I have lost 20,30,40 years ago.
See the oldies shuffling down the street. This was their music.
