Jeez, Never mind the ultimate rock band, what you mean is the ultimate band, listen to their blues or folk stuff, Jimmy & Robert have said many time that "Our rock music is only a 3rd of what we do".
I was born in 1960. Im 63 and i absolutely love that your generation is discovering the music of my generation! What you all are seeing is that ",our" music is untouchable to anything out today or say the last 30 years. Keep on listening. Love your channel. My only advice to you is listen to more bands. Not songs from the same band over and over. There is sooooo much to see and hear. Just my opinion love.❤
I'm a Jan 63 born , but was into music early, and the mid to late 70 s was Rockin with all the late 60s stuff into the 70s and what a decade of music that was . ... 🤙🎸🇭🇲🎼
Molly Boy, your reactions are golden!!! When it comes to the 60’s and 70’s super groups like the Beatles, Stones, and Zeppelin, it’s probably best to do them in order of oldest to newest. That’s how us old guys heard them when they were new. What most reactors don’t realize, is we kids then, grew up with these bands as THEY got older with us. Their perspectives changed as did ours, though, some never grew up. Still, the music evolved as we all aged. Also, they were competing within themselves to be THE best rock band ever!!!
The band was comprised of guitarist Jimmy Page, who created the band and also produced all their albums, multi-instrumentalist (bass, keys, mandolin) John Paul Jones, drummer John Bonham, and vocalist/harmonica player Robert Plant. They started in 1968 and disbanded in 1980 after Bonham passed away. You had North and South represented in the band; Jimmy and John Paul were born in Heston and Sidcup, respectively, while John Bonham was born in Redditch and Plant was born in West Bromwich and grew up in the Haley Green area. Their music can be described as hard rock/heavy blues but they played other styles like folk, funk, rock and roll, rockabilly, ethereal, bits of prog-style, jazz-style - in other words, you'll find a bit of a lot of stuff in their music. If you *really* want to get to know them (and I think you should), start at the beginning and go in album/track order. Believe me - the Zep fans will be here for it.
Hey MollyBoy, I'm 70 now but in my younger years all the Venues had "live music" so it was normal to experience all the great artists and bands. Us 'oldies' were all educated in what I believe is still the best Music. Thanks for your interest and bringing back so many memories. 👀 Robert Plant had the best voice at that time that was so suitable for the time and music.
Have to see and hear Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love - Kashmir - D'yer Maker - Over the Hills and Far Away - All of My Love - Immigrant Song - Rock n Roll - Thank You - The Song Remains the Same - The Rain Song - The Ocean -
My absolute favorite Led Zeppelin song. Saw them in 1972 at the Long Beach Arena in Southern California and I never listened to music the same way. Led Zeppelin then, Led Zeppelin now, Led Zeppelin forever.
A perfect storm of rock musicians. One of the members of Led Zep, I forget which one, when asked when they knew they were going to be big said we knew the first song at the very first practice.
Born in 1952- I was 13 first seeing The Beatles- yep I’m so old- but by the seventies I’d graduated to Led Zeppelin- and here I am watching you Mollyboy- having the same remarkable experience- Robert Plant- Jimmy Page- John Bonham- John Paul Jones- the band stopped when The drummer John Bonham passed- Robert Plant lost his son when the lad was around 5-6. The child was his father- hair and all - so beautiful. Robert has pain- shows in his voice. Thank you for your outstanding and passionate reactions. You look into the camera and make this old woman smile- ❤
Also thank you to the UK for providing America with so many amazing musicians and bands in the '60s and '70s. They changed everything, Led Zeppelin as much as anyone. Four great musicians who played well together in legendary fashion.
It is amazing how many great great bands, musicians ,song writers and singers came out of the tiny country of the United Kingdom in the 60s, 70s and 80s.I do not think that we ever realised how lucky we all were to live in that time.
You should be proud of your English heritage, I'm half English half my grandparents were from Newcastle, other from Ukraine, England rocks. So many great bands musicians.
If you want your socks blown off again try: ‘Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (Live from Celebration Day) (Official Video)’ and ‘Led Zeppelin - Going To California (Live at Earls Court 1975) [Official Video]’. I have watch serval Robert Plant interviews where he has said Kashmir is his overall favourite. I consider Jimmy Page and David Gilmour the best guitar players in the world. In the late 60’s, 70’s and 80’s I think UK councils were putting stuff in the water - The amount of exceptional talent is incredible.
I remember seeing Led Zeppelin in the early to mid 70’s. What an incredible show. And it was only $5…still have the concert ticket along with many others. One of the few things that I kept from my childhood.😞
The guitarist is Jimmy Page, formerly of the Yardbirds. On bass and keyboards is John Paul Jones aka Jonesy or JPJ. On drums is John Bonham aka Bonzo. Here's a suggestion for another Led Zeppelin song, actually two that go together: 'The Song Remains the Same" and "The Rain Song." Play them together.
I was born in 1962. I'm 61 and I also absolutely love that your generation is discovering the music of my generation! However, bear in mind that the incredible, wonderful and iconic music of Pink Floyd, Yes, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, ELP and many others was the mainstream music of its day; lauded in the press, enjoying sold-out tours, media coverage and legendary status. Many 21st century bands have matched and exceeded the accomplishments of those from the 70s' heydays. Don't discount current rock and prog merely because it doesn't have that whiff of nostalgia that old blokes like me seem to flock to. As I enjoy my 7th decade on this planet I am blown away by the new and exciting music that is still being created by my peers, and by young and exciting new talent that goes largely unheralded.
I fell in love, with "the love of my life" listening to my Led Zeppelin record collection, and he blew my mind and rocked my world. while we listened to this song, I am sitting here in love all over again.
Jimmy Page top 5 guitarists, and mandolin. He was the founder, the producer, and wrote most of the music for the band. Robert Plant, vocalist, wrote the lyrics, and played harmonica, John Bonham “Bonzo”, best rock drummer, and John Paul Jones, bass, mandolin and keyboards, and did some arranging of their music, was the heart of the band.
Rock and Roll Live Video (Madison Square Garden 1973) Original Records. This is the opening number from the same concert, a high energy rocker that's just over 4 minutes.
Molly Molly Boyee! It seems the tastier the riff, the more i can see it in your soul. Thats exactly whats supposed to happen. If this song doesnt stir up something, check yer pulse.
🎸💯 Jimmy Page - a musical genius‼️🐐🔥 Led Zeppelin was an incredibly talented group‼️We're all extremely fortunate to have access to their remarkable catalog & should listen to as much of it as is humanly possible‼️☮️❤️🎶
You never have to be afraid of zepp not doing as good as the other video. This is the ultimate blues. One of the best blues live recording ever !!!! No shit . If you can’t feel this then there is something wrong ! Just close your eyes and enjoy !!!
Great reaction!! Nobody and I mean NOBODY can sing like Robert Plant!! Greatest!! And jimmy Paige is a child prodigy most ppl don't know that!! Wonderful!! So kid your in love too!! We all are!!!!
So good to see you enjoying Zep music so much MollyBoy. I saw them live 7 times , and they just got better and better every time. First time I saw them was in my local pub 23rd March 1969, and it was £1 a ticket. They had just released their first album two months prior, and the place was absolutely packed out. After the gig, me and my two mates were standing outside having a smoke, and Robert and Jimmy came out the side door ,and came over to us and asked if we'd enjoyed the music. We chatted for ages, and what a great set of lads they were. Needless to say I was hooked on their music for life. Can I recommend , if you haven't done it already react to ''Kashmir'' ,live at the o2 ,Celebration Day concert. They were in their 60's then, but it's the best I've ever heard them. Great reaction mate!
One of the best Zeppelin tunes IMO! I saw Page & Plant at Glastonbury '95. As a Zepp fan from another era, it was a total treat of a show sat under a tree close to the main stage on a sunny Sunday Afternoon watching those two perform. Man, it rarely gets better than that. I think that show is on UA-cam if you fancy it.
I just found your channel and love it! I would highly suggest the version of the "Rain Song" live at Madison Square Garden; it's just soo good; the vocals are great but the guitar phrasing Jimmy used on that version are just stunning IMO. Ten Years Gone is another great, and somewhat underrated, Zeppelin tune you should check out; as well as the Wanton Song, The Lemon Song, Communication Breakdown...ANY OF THEM. Thanks for the video. On a side note, have a listen to Rainbow, "Mistreated" live in Munich if you want a great intro to Ronnie James Dio, Ritchie Blackmore and Cozy Powell! Be well.
Start with Led Zeppelin, and go through the albums in order, finding live stuff from each period Actually, before the first album came out, they played on Danish TV, as the New Yardbirds. It's on UA-cam. 1969. Check it out. Also, the guitarist is Jimmy Page. Just look him up. Seminal
Kashmir(Studio and Live at Knebworth 1979), Black Dog(Studio and Live at MSG 1973), When The Levee Breaks(Studio version specifically), Dazed and Confused(Studio and Live are different songs but both great), Babe I'm Gonna Leave You (Studio or Live Denmark Radio 1969), and finally, the Studio Version of 'Since I've Been Loving You' are their strongest songs that you haven't reacted to yet IMO :)
Mollyboy don't stop going down the rabbit hole on Led Zeppelin or you will regret it , there are a lot of Zep heads out here and they are top tier band !!! Great reaction mollyboy , just fire !!! 🤘🔥🎸💯 ...
Yay! More Led Zeppelin! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 You have gotten a lot of songs recommended - I have to say, go with album number 1 (Led Zeppelin 1), first track (Good Times, Bad Times) and just go in order. Of the 9 songs on their first album, 8 are freakin’ awesome blues rock. All four band members are the best at what they do. As some have said before, the album version should be heard first because it is the pristine, mixed, song. The live versions are incredible because they take the album song and improvise the heck out of them. You get to see the passion, the magic, the almost telepathy between all four. They never do a song the same way in concert ever. Really. Not ever. Always a different improvised version. Their catalog is one of the very best in Rock history. I think you will really love going on this journey. I know all of us OG Led Heads want to experience it with you. Great channel!
Best way to discover Led Zeppelin = Start at the beginning and go all the way to the end. Song by song, track by track, album by album, from LED ZEPPELIN I all the way to CODA. Jimmy Page is not only a fantastic guitarist and legendary songwriter, but a genius producer in the studio. It's a helluva roller coaster, and Zep doesn't have one bad song!
A few suggestions... Dazed & Confused live from the 73 MSG concert. Whole lotta love also from the same concerts. Kashmir from Knebworth in 1979. Moby Dick from Royal Albert Hall 1970.
You have a very expressive face, and it's fun to watch you as you experience new things. I can see the energy hit you during the guitar solos. One of my best times was listening to The Allman Brothers live jam for 4 hours nonstop. Like holding on to a live electric wire. Many of the groups from the 60's and 70's were inventing & re-inventing themselves as they matured, and their musical interests expanded. That is why the varied styles over time. Consistent was the talent no matter what.
Definitively listen to "No Quarter", a later stage Led Zeppelin, with more dark athmosphere and influx of other music styles too, and with a guitar riff from Jimmy Page (that's his name) that is great.
IVE BEEN LISTENING TO LZ SINCE THEY STARTED 1969 … JUST LISTENED TO THIS HEADPHONES FULL BLAST CHILLS THEE INTIRE TIME 😬… N MAN THIS IS UR THIRD SONG… BOY DO YOU HAVE RIDE COMIN UP, YOUVE OPEN UP ONE HUMUNGOUS RABBIT HOLE PERSONALLY YOU SHOULD START FIRST SONG, FIRST ALBUM N GO THROUGH THIER ENTIRE COLLECTION.. GREAT REACTIONS… ROCK ON 👊🖖
“Who ever that guy was playin’ guitar.” “That guy,” is the legendary rock God, Jimmy Page. Your reactions are so beautifully visceral. Don’t change.
There's led zeppelin and then there's everybody else. 4 of the best musicians ever in the same band.
Just let it sink in, this music is still bangin after 50 years. Back in the 80s I guarantee you nobody was Jamin to songs from the 30s.

By FAR the best catalogue of rock songs ever!

Yes! I’m here for the journey, once again, down the rabbit hole of Led Zeppelin! 🔥
70's live versions of their songs are 3 times better than their studio versions, no lies.
THAT, my friend, is why they are the GOAT.

Kashmir, When The Levee Breaks, In My Time Of Dying (Live), Dazed and Confused..
The best!!
Definitively listen to "No Quarter", a later stage Led Zeppelin, with more dark athmosphere and influx of other music styles too, and with a guitar riff from Jimmy Page (that's his name) that is great.
I’ve reacted to that one
