another great vid, I agree the logos are "made to fit" the chain is a issue is there a reason one side black and the other side rusted ? but if you think the are pretty darn good they must be

As a late 70s Chessie modeler, the Chessie System logo on the side is definitely way too small, more or less feels like a slap the face, almost looks like they took stencils from GP unit and said “good enough”. I don’t terribly mind the 2/3 heritage unit, it’s better some stupid little stickers on the noses like they did a few years back. I’m like you, maybe if they reversed it they would be better. I’m probably going to regret not getting the Chessie or B&O units, but want to focus on my layout right now. Thanks for sharing these models and they look great together on your layout!

The CSX heritage engines got better as they went on, the first couple kinda look weird. Logos are too big or too small. Excellent models though.

It's a nice CSX layout. More clips would be nice and timed a little longer.

My locomotive jumped off the tracks the wheels fell out and then it puffed out some smoke.

The handle thing on the nose door is a locking bar. Not all locomotives had those, and it may even be a later post UP addition. (I need to look at some photos) All UP locomotives are supposed to have these locks now, they use old SP switch locks.

Anyone ever notice that when one comany releases a loco, the other companies release the same type? Almost like theyre all from the same chinese plant. Weird huh? Love the video!

So I’m not a professional like you I’m just a newbie but I had to recently rip up and redo a ladder track yard that I had made because of track geometry problems and I’ve fought the same to tight turning radius issues you have had and I’ve made corrections and reworked areas so don’t worry it happens. Trust me it happens and it happened to Conrail in real life to .

Good to be particular about these models but just a slight bend in the hand rails. Too much, lighten up. This is a fine craft model.

Don’t feel bad I’m not a professional like you and I have problems too, but I work through them and make changes same as you. After seeing your layout I should take a sledgehammer to mine.

I'd forgotten about Erie Lackawanna & Lehigh Valley that came into Conrail. Awesome show & historical railroad. Always like the locomotives & Freight Trains. (🔵🔴⚪🟤🟡) 👍

I missed the reason for cutting the coal hoppers in half? Are the models just longer than the actual prototype? Sorry if there was a discussion or a video about cutting hoppers in half. I can’t find it.

Some nice looking projects coming up. Still amazed by the level of detail and attention to CR's little differences with their equipment you capture. See, in the end video you focused on the derail, but what I noticed was a completely fresh painted CR loco. I saw that and was like, WTH - it's still bright blue?! Looking forward to following along for '25!

The solvent is basically MEK. Softens the plastic to "weld" the parts together.

Up here in New Jersey, the commuter railroad NJ Transit released another heritage unit. GP40PH-2B #4208 was repainted into CONRAIL. They even changed the horn. It's like a blast from the past.

Everything is looking great Steve! Love the chopped CR hoppers. You mentioned the decals running on the Walthers hoppers. Back many moons ago I use to use Testors dullcoat and it made the Walthers ink-paint print float. Messed up the whole car. So I know exactly what you mean. Again everything is looking great!
