For some reason, I like that the Cab is shorter than the Hood of the Locomotive.
Its really a neat oddball look that these GE’s had at the time!
Man that is freakin awesome!! Conrail Rules!!!
Thank you!
Great project Steve. again you just make it look so easy =p
Thank you!
Great video Steve!
Thank You!
This is the first video I've seen from your channel and I have come away impressed.
You do a fine job a model building, much more than I ever could hope to be.
Just subscribed to! Keep it up!
Thank you!!
This just came up in my recommenced. Quite the kit build with attention to detail. My HO train set and locomotives are all boxed up collecting dust. Don't have the room to set up these days. Nice ink, too.
Thank you! Glad to see the videos getting recommended from time to time to new viewers. Hope you can get your trains back out again and enjoy them in time!
Outstanding work!
Thank you!
Nice model . I think it's funny when I was a member of the Marion model railroad club in the 70s and 80s Conrail was hated. Now it's a beloved fallen flag.🤔
Thank you!! Everything goes in cycles and I can understand how those that railfanned any of the railroads that went into Conrail wouldn’t like it much. For me growing up in the 90’s and early 2000’s I watched the Conrail I enjoyed get swallowed up into NS and CSX so I can fully relate to that.
Wow ! Cool kit bash.
Thank you!!
Absolutely remarkable work!👍👍
Thank you!!
Great Build and a Beautiful Loco.
Lovin that Conrail Blue!
Thank you!!
Hi CR STEVE & it's Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks CR STEVE & Friends Randy
Thank you Randy!!
Hey CRSTEVE, I’m building a Conrail train with all conrail equipment
Thats awesome!!
Another Awesome Build! Do you happen to have part numbers, and resources, for the parts used in the build?
Thank you! I do not have a complete list for this one put together as of right now. I will have to try to put one together for it this week and add it to the video description.
Thank You Sir! It would be much appreciated. I have ordered the parts for the BH1C Ballast cars. These will be my first attempt at building like this. Keep up the Great work!
Just finished adding as much of a parts list as I could to the video description. Alot of parts from this build I used up from my scrap drawer but did my best to at least name them on the list so they can be found for a build. I am sure I forgot a few things but have 99% of it there. If you have any questions on the parts let me know!
Very cool Locomotive Steve, great build!!! What paint are you using for your Conrail Blue,
I stashed a couple bottles away of the Floquil when they
folded but I'm looking for a
good substitute!!!
Floquil was bought by tester corporation...they discontinued the railway colors but until recently was using some of the recipes
@user-lq4mo8dw1p Yeah that's a
Shame, I used it to paint quite a few
Locomotives and Cabooses over
the years, I managed to stash a
couple of bottles of the Conrail
Blue and a bottle of Boxcar red!!
I looked online after watching
Steve's video and scalecoat
still has Conrail Blue but I've
never used it before!!! I painted
2 CSX coilcars with the Testers
Blue, they came out decent!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
I am still using Scalecoat II paint for now as I stocked up a few years ago before they went under. I heard recently that they are coming back but now sure how soon that will be.
I was looking at the images looked like it got a dash 8 cab instead of something else but how do you model open doors on a factory cab model that’s already put together ? I have a few locos in my fleet I want to model open doors
To do cab doors on a factory painted and finished model you have to cut the door out of the cab with a hobby knife and replace it with an etched metal door. Generally to cutt the door out the cab has to be removed from the rest of the shell so you can have better access to cut out the door. The SD38 video I posted last week shows this process so check that out for a little better explanation.
