Great update Steve!! I love that Slug, that will be a cool unit when finished!! I have a Trains Magazine floating around in our upstairs storage room with the start of Conrail and the deplorable condition the Railroad was in including Pitcairn yard and its " colorful" Locomotives, the Big 4 mainline near my house had gone for years from NYC thru PC without much upgrade and ties pumping mud on thru freights!! Happy Birthday Big Blue, gone but not forgotten!!!!
Good to see the trains running again Steve! Your CSX train looks great. As for Conrail day, I remember watching Conrail from day one. Those were really exciting times in the months afterward trackside. Great update!
Layout looking great Steve…scenery upgrades 👍🏽…you take on some interesting kitbash/upgrades…gonna try some stuff like that when I grow up in model RR’ing 😊
Thank You! I always try to take on kitbash projects that are slightly out of my comfort zone to challenge myself. So far it has worked out well and helped me grow as a modeler but can be frustrating at times as well.
Already have the KV etched hand rail parts at the ready for when I get to that point of the build. Will defiantly test out the Athearn SD38 trucks as well and may go that route if I like how they fit better.
Your layout looks great Steve. That MT6 looks great as well. Please give me a shout when it's done. Can't wait to see it running with your SD38.I watch your videos all the time.Keep up the great work.Happy Model Railroading😊.And have a Happy CONRAIL day on Monday.Thankuou.😊
hi steve !!! great update... your slug project is a real whopper, huh ? a friend did the same as you, a six wheeled unit and he had tons of problems with trucks hitting/slightly touching both the step and gas tank areas. he had already put hours into cutting down the full body shell from a "regular" engine so he was fully committed to the slug project, which is still ongoing !!! i believe he is coming close to totally shit-canning the project as he/we have seen the rapido slug that is available and he discusses it quite often !!! we have remembered him in our evening prayers, hoping that the "toughness" ( is there such a word ?) of this project does not totally drive him bonkers !!! i have noticed your guitar licks when you shoot your videos... being an old fart, i enjoy it when angus, uncle teddy, kk downing et al improv between songs, where we hear some nice stuff !!! keep the rock-n-roll going, my friend !! ... ps, steve, can you please turn up your recording volume so we can hear the description of your video better ? even with the volume up totally, your comments are on the low end a bit. ice cold beers, a little older ( i.e, bon scott) ac/dc tunes and sibi with 3 ex-conrail engines will be run in your honor later today, steve !!! keep up the good work, steve !!!
Thank You! This slug build is proving to be a challenge for sure but ill find a way to make it work! The guitar music at the beginning and end is actually some stock music I found on UA-cam that is licensed by UA-cam for making videos. I do play guitar though and hope to eventually get some of my own music recorded to used for video intos and background fill when needed. Just need the time to be able to get it all together.

Thank You! I only caught the last few years of Conrail but it made a big impression on me.
Hi Steve. Great video. Really looking forward to seeing that layout tour. That slug will be a cool addition once you get it done. Have an awesome day!
Thank you! Layout Tour will be up tomorrow at noon!

I used a set of Athearn SD38 trucks and KV Models etched handrails for my build. The trucks fit well and the frame road at the correct height.
Already have the KV etched hand rail parts at the ready for when I get to that point of the build. Will defiantly test out the Athearn SD38 trucks as well and may go that route if I like how they fit better.
Really nice layout and nice track plan!
Thank you very much!

The road looks great. To me! It was odd that you changed angles and could see specs. But that's nice!
Thank You!
Good lord! You know how to make me sweat 😅😂😂😂
