Interesting video idea Ashley, I went through the list as you were doing it yourself. I've only managed to read 39 of the 339 books listed (12%).

A SALES MAN' - I said that at the same time with Riley :P Also, can't really imagine what Rory would have thought of Gender Trouble or if that influenced her in any way haha Read Master and Margarita twice in my 20s, really loved it, but that cover is horrifying. (There's a really great cat character in that book tho! Although I can't say for sure, cause I have changed so much as a reader since) On the Road unfortunately yes - so relatable!! My score is 52! I did it in parallel with you. Have to say I'm not much into Rory's reading!

I really liked Murder Road too! And the evernight edition really added to it with all the little tie ins, loved it!

Loong video, I ended up watching it in three installments. Big squee about your crafted Dalek! Is it knitted or crocheted? I couldn't really see clearly? Did you make it yourself? So happy to hear Long Live Evil is fun, my friend Des won a signed copy of it during a panel at WorldCon this previous weekend (along with a bunch of other signed books, I'm totally not jealous).

I think that edition of The Night Ends in Fire is gorgeous (but I am always more drawn to blues and greens than red with a lot of orange). I also like that your knife has a theme song now (there is never a bad time for The Safety Dance). That cover of Jade City is very blah, but the edges look very cool.

Nice choices! I got Hera from BOTM, because I’ve read Atalanta and Elektra and liked them, but they’re not Madeline Miller quality. And I have The Pairing out from the library right now, so I didn’t feel the need for that one.

Do you like Lev Grossman's work? I just read the first book in The Magicians trilogy, I really didn't enjoy it. It started off pretty well, but it got to be more of a struggle the further I got into the book. I think I was spoiled by seeing the tv series first.

The first edition of The Night Ends With Fire is so gorgeous! You don’t even need a special edition. I’m also looking forward to Bury Your Gays. I still need to read his previous horror though

That edition of Jade City is so strange, why does no element match any other element?? The dust jacket, the cover, the endpapers, the edge, and the map all are different styles that clash

I've heard a lot of youtubers talking about The eyes are the best part and I'm gonna add it to my TBR list. That edition is gorgeous!

Just finished Chuck Tingles Trans Wizard Harriet Porber and the Bad Boy Parasaurolophus and loved every minute of it. It was really funny and just weird at times. Had spicy stuff in it but not too much, and it was well written I found. I can highly recommend, it, it's really funny. I found out he wrote loads and loads of books. So I might look into some of his other books as well.

So excited to hear that about The Stardust Grail, I got it as an add on with Bury Your Gays from Aardvark. And I’ve been curious about The God and the Gumiho so I’m gonna give it a try. AND and now I’m very curious about Long Live Evil, that’s going on my library request/holds immediately!

I read Silver Nitrate earlier this year. Maybe I liked it better than you did because I've been to Mexico City several times and I was an adult in the early 90's when it takes place. The magic system was a little fuzzy, but I thought it was clear enough for plot purposes. I just started one of her other books, The Daughter of Doctor Moreau. It's the first one of hers I've read with a non-adult protagonist, so we'll see how that goes.

I’m impressed with how many you got through! Still chugging through HMRC over here because life reasons. I’m impressed you got through the Honey Witch. I DNF-ed a third of the way through. I couldn’t take the writing style. It was so clearly a first novel that was overwritten, but also didn’t share enough. It wasn’t like those books where you know they’re withholding the information for a purpose, it was the author understood her world so well she didn’t feel the need to explain it, but you needed to appreciate how clever she was at every turn of phrase.

wow, that was intense! well done on reading so many of those subscription box books! I love crossing-things-off-list energy <3 watched till the end, but forgot what emoji you wanted and too lazy to turn back now and look :P
