I'm currently binging My Lady Jane on Prime and it's SO much fun! I think, based on what I remember from the book, that it might even be better than the book? I certainly like Guildford a lot more here than I remember doing in the book, and they've added more queerness than I remember from the book. I have two episodes left, but I'm really enjoying it, so I hope it sticks the landing. I also need to read Calamity Jane's book (the Jane Eyre one was not as good as I had hoped) and the Mary ones they've written so far.
Hmm, if you are liking it then I will probably have to give it a shot. I still haven't read Calamity Jane. Something about it just doesn't appeal to me. But My Imaginary Mary was fun, and My Contrary Mary was just as good as My Lady Jane, if I'm remembering correctly.
Just found your channel, and I am also ace! But I read a lot of gay romances and BL manga, so 69 always makes me giggle, too. I read a lot queer books, and I have read some of these!
I'm so glad I'm not alone in finding Last Night at the Telegraph Club just meh. It's sitting on my nightstand with maybe 100 pages to go for TWO YEARS. I should just concede defeat and shelve as DNF.
Oh wow, over 500 books. I only read 4 I think, and all of them were Sarah Waters novels. I'm currently reading the biography of Mercedes de Acosta (That Furious Lesbian). She was once described as a 'professional lesbian'. It's a pity that she is now predominantly known for her relationships with famous women (the most famous two being Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich). She tried to be a writer, but she didn't have much success at that. This biography has one review on Goodreads, and that's not a positive one. But I don't think it's all that bad. It isn't the best biography I ever read, but not really terrible as well.
69! The only acceptable number! Although, I’m sad no TJ Klune came up on your list, but I 100% agree with 2 out of 3 of your perfect books. PERFECT. So now I have on my list for the bookstore today Think of England, because our taste aligns on so many things.
I was honestly surprised I didn't hit any Klunes because there are a lot of them in there! I will be impressed if you find a copy of Think of England in the wild. You will probably have to order it online from somewhere because it's not popular. I even have a hard time finding her three trad pubbed books in bookstores.
@@theanswerisbooks no Think of England in the wild - I could tell by the cover it would be a long shot, but the local Barnes did have all 3 of her traditionally published books! So that’s cool. I may visit my local indie tomorrow and see if they’ll order it for me (my middle is Minecraft obsessed so we spend our weekends hunting down Minecraft tips and tricks books he doesn’t have yet 🤷♀️)
@@bethstiles4303 I know you can get it on Bookshop.org so I bet they will do it for you! Might I also suggest her books A Seditious Affair and Band Sinister while you're at it?
This makes me wish I shelved my books with additional tags. So fun.
It's very satisfying.

Welcome, fellow asexual. I hope you stick around!
I loved My Lady Jane and can’t wait to watch the show. I will have to check out My Contrary Mary.
It's really fun!

DNF! DNF! DNF! Free yourself.
For "One of us is lying", one of the male main characters is gay (closeted for most of the book, but comes out later on) 👽🌹
I figured it was something like that! Thanks :)
Didn’t see the 69 coming 😅

But maybe just do the ebook for A Seditious Affair bc the cover is heinously embarrassing.
OMG a little life popped in here for you 😂
It follows us everywhere.
This was a journey! 👽
I just don't get the love for Boyfriend Material. So many people live it. I found
it clunky.
Alexis Hall might not be for you! You might try 10 Things That Never Happened before writing him off, though.
