Idk, my ear isn't tuned for this stuff...I'm a guitarist. It sounds like a precision thing to me. It's subtle, and could be a perfect thing in a modern day mix.

Drummer from the UK here, and Zyns haven’t really gone away (Kruts no longer exist thankfully), my first ever kit had a 60s Zyn 16” crash and the music school I teach at has a couple of 18” super zyns as well. You still find a lot of the old super zyns lying around small music shops and while they certainly sound better than the nickel silver ones, they still don’t hold a candle to the A or K Zildjian from the time. As of now though it seems Zyn is back as a smaller boutique company that exclusively use B20 bronze and actually make some cool stuff.
