no but for real though that krut was awful. as a producer i can deal with a cymbal being kinda trashy sounding, theres a lot u can do to tighten the sound of a cheap cymbal up. but the krut being out of tune *with itself* absolutely killed me. theres no fix for that. one of the few times i would probably just ask the drummer to please use a different cymbal hahaha

I'm a sousaphone player and sometimes we'll hit our bells for effects. You should find an old abused sousaphone and hammer the bell together in the middle to make a super thick crash. It'd probably suck but it'd be funny.

That pitcher at the top left of the shelf is the same pattern as the pitcher that my parents had when I was growing up, I believe we stopped using it after we found out that there is a mild chance of the metal being injurious, and relegated it to duties of watering plants and filling the birdbath, but it was the source of much confusion to me as a child when I learned the expression "Whether the stone hits the pitcher, or the pitcher hits the stone, it's going to be bad for the pitcher", which of course assumes a pitcher made of pretty much anything other than thick metal.
I'm not a professional musician or anything, but I don't think i ever expected a CYMBAL, of all things, to be a semitone apart. And with so much reverb???? The Krut is definitely the cymbal of all time
I really enjoy the convenience of picking up a trash can lid right outside the gig and using it for the whole set. Going all the way out to the music store to buy one really removes all the convenience for me.

Yes yes yes! I have one of these at home, a guy 'threw it in' with another cymbal and stand I was buying, it has three (3!) huge cracks in it and that means huuuuge low end crushy tones. I love it, use it as a second real low crash, would love for you to hear (don't think you'd like it hahaha). Was only thinking, I wonder would he have a Krut? Lo and behold.

I have this weird cymbal that is 14'' and kinda is a greenish-silver colour. it is really thin and trashy. I use it all the time when I play but i'm not sure if its a Krut as it doesn't have a stamp or anything. Do all kruts (or zyns) have stamps pressed into them or is just some random crappy cymbal. Anyways I bought that cymbal at an antique store for $20 along with a zilco hi-hat top

Nickel silver is actually a sort of brass with significant nickel content, which makes it harder than regular brass, and some alloys of nickel silver are very silver looking in appearance, especially when untarnished. So, contains nickel and looks like silver, we’ll call it nickel silver. Although I’ll admit the Krut isn’t showing off the “silver” appearance very well.
I really dig the sound of both the zing and the krut, i have a soft spot for cheap vintage cymbals, i have a 70s Camber II crash ride, and its been a preety versatile cymbal you just gotta learn to get the sound out of the cymbal.
My first cymbals were Kruts and Zyns. I remember I used to think they sounded pretty okay when I was a beginner, but when I picked up a used Zildjian A Sweet Ride I immediately realized how far behind they really were. Still play them every now and then when I need a laugh.
the 20" krut was too funny especially in the softer jazzy stuff. the K sits so wonderfully in the mix and then the krut's just like WOOHMMMMMMM
