Wade, I know you're doing what you're doing because you love drums and their history, but I wanted to say I can't understate how valuable what you're doing actually is for the preservation of musical history. Having an audio library of all of these drums and cymbals from throughout history is truly incredible.
I feel so bad for my guy Wade. He barely has functional internet where he works. Here in Romania it's basically standard at least 500 mb/s internet. I hope that one day you'll be able to get adorable fiberoptic. Love from Romania👏
@@pabala8946 500mb/s?? I'm exceptionally jealous. I recently changed providers here in Australia and they want an extra $30 per month for their "high speed" package, that option gives me 50mb/s for $80 instead of 25mb/s for $50 💔
It's not that he doesn't have good internet at all, it's just this warehouse type place that houses his drum kits and drum stream set up doesn't. Places like that don't have fiber run to them by default because they aren't residential, and they would only have it if there were very nearby businesses that have paid out of pocket for a drop.
This channel was always more of a "just more wade" for me, so I didn't realize it was gone. But this restructuring made me so excited, you won't even believe it. I'm so hyped about this new setup, and even without the history aspect, the stage is so awesome that it directly competes with PunkeyDoodles (mate's content is great, so go watch him NOW). I'm literally more hyped than when you and James uploaded at the same time a couple days ago, which is incredible.
I know it’s a longshot but would love to see like a podcast situation where you invite some drummers to play their dream kits or maybe the kits their heroes would have played, and talk about their influences and techniques or what not
I'll be honest and before this channel I didn't know/care about drums all that much, but now it's an instrument I pay special attention to in the music I listen to. Whenever I see a gig or music video, I want to know what they're using. I went to a Melanie Martinez concert a few weeks ago and felt really proud of myself for recognizing the Zildjian K ride cymbal the drummer was using. (Used my phone to zoom in on them haha.) So cool to hear it in action.
Ay man I wanted to say: I work in the live music industry (currently doing my last year of apprenticeship) and I've recently been going more towards the backline side of the company I work for (i.e. servicing the instruments and stuff) now guitars I know a lot about and I'm okay with keyboards but up until last week I had never assembled a drum kit. The thing is while my instructor was telling me all about it I noticed, I like actually knew what he was talking about just from watching your videos. Keep it up wade You're awesome With regards from the very north of Germany Edit: Yes I know about the Dunning-Kruger effect and I still know very little about drums on the grand scheme of things
oh this is so cool! I do synth stuff, and have just been dipping my toes into sampling, but I don't like using stock samples. I feel like I want to use samples that I recorded myself, or ones that have some significance to me. I love the idea of playing around with some of your sounds in my jams! Thanks so much!
So glad you're back to grace my youtube page with some culture, it's been barren of australia man yells at drums and cymbals for too long. Honestly I assumed it was internet problems, entirely understandable. Hope that one day there will be a better option and you can return to your streaming throne but for now I'll thoroughly enjoy any offline centric things you toss our way
Ngl That stage might be an Amazing place for drum streams eventually, the natural reverb from it is probably unmatched, and would be a real neat vibe on streams
You're a legend Wade. The library of drum sounds you have created and the preservation of these weird and wonderful kits is absolutely bloody awesome. Love your work mate.
love the mike portnoy video on the backgrounddd Looks like its the dance of eternity video? or atleast some track from metropolist part 2!! ACTUALLY the beat on 4:20 is the beat he uses in home and metropolis part 1 so its got to be him performing home!! Anyhow i fucking love all you are doing here mate its so unbelievably cool
It makes me so happy to see a more recent true passion project UA-cam channel come to fruition. I love seeing wade just be a goofball on video for a little bit and being genuine with his content and not having all of the corporate feeling energy.
I, for one, am super hype for a bunch of silly drum stuff that I never wanted to learn, never needed to learn, but will happily learn from energetic dingus man.
Literally yesterday I was showin ye off to some ol mates, specifically the drum museum, and it got me thinking “when’s that website going live” and what should pop into my feed..! Cheers mate, your the reason Im way into drum history!! Gettin my full set of 60s A cymbals rounded out today
Wade, your an INSPIRATION FOR ME. Your danky channels helped build my love for lower end games (as all triple A games suck), really improve my love for cars, and especially my heart for audio. Dankpods is what helped grow my inspiration of going to college for Audio Engineering Technology. I've watch Dankpods sense 2020, and the other channels (becides Dankmus) sense you created them (EVEN WAS SUBBED TO JAMES CHANNEL WHEN HE HAD 100 SUBS). Thank you for my inspiration in life and love the content. and tell Frank i said hi.
Really into music, not drums in particular, love this channel. Actually, I think this bloke would make entertaining, and informative, gardening content.
That room is like a dream. I don't think I'd ever leave. I would be testing every drum set with break beats. I will pay extra attention to hi-hats, my favorite part of the kit.
You're just a treasure, thanks for everything you do man, love the content and your drum project is huge for preservation. Some archeologist is gonna thank you 500 years from now.
oh my GOD WELCOME BACK! and genuinely, thank you for all that you do amidst the horrors of Australian Internet. absolutely heroic effort, and i'm so extremely excited TDT is coming back. also: someone mentioned it already but i want to reiterate it... it's absolutely incredible that you want to build that library of sounds, and have plans to do so. the idea of having musical history preserved like that, and easily accessible so that it can be heard and used so far beyond its inception, for music they never knew would exist just... makes me get all misty-eyed. edit: a comma

Hell yeah, drum thing is back. I started to learn drums when I was younger but dropped them when my drum teacher moved. This channel makes me want to pick it back up.
Glad to have the drums back in bussiness and to have you back :3 Im really thinking on going back to floatplane m8 but need to figure out my finances first, as you know making a bussiness is hard work and takes time!

There’s so much potential to make sample packs that people could import into their e-drum modules!
