      This is optimal in one genre: Steampunk. I've always loved how in Jazz there's cymbals and brass. But then like the twice removed half-sister who has her own business selling art is just like street signs, rusted hinges, an old broken bike wheel, a manky old can taped to a plank of wood.

      Holy shit I completely forgot until now but I went to a Stomp live performance as a kid, I remember one of them swinging in a climbing harness side to side across a wall of bin lids playing them with drumsticks, it was genuinely one of the best things I've ever seen. Thanks for bringing back that memory!

    You ever see those videos of street performers using pots and pans to play music? You just remade that using whats likely a several thousand dollar drum setup and hundreds of dollars of recording equipment. Well done! Wish I had the money for the floatplane stream (yes 1 dollar is too much, I'm working on it), wish you luck with these boys

      if those are still the Jin bao's, the most expensive parts of the setup are the stands and mics. you know what? I bet the heads alone cost more than the shells and cymbals.

      @@supernewbie694 The stands for the drums are likely a lot, he swapped the Jin Bao's to use those fancy style mounting arms, and this is seemingly the same set he used to use for gig work with those really nice professional drums he showed off in the Jin Bao comparison

    Love the content, dude. All channels of it too. I don't know crap about cars, but Garbage Time is awesome. It's great to hear somebody who is really passionate about something I don't particularly know talk and teach. And when you made an all drum channel, as a drummer, I got really pumped! I love talking about drums and it's really great to hear about your passion and see your knowledge. If I ever make it to Australia, I'd love to come to your drum museum when it's up and going!

    I like how... tonal, the street signs are. Dunno exactly what notes, but they're the right interval between each other than they actually sound quite nice, like a pots and pans set up.
    The hubcap hi-hat was a stroke of genius though. It's genuinely impressive how good it sounds even if it doesn't sound like a traditional hi-hat. Really interesting stuff!

    in frankfurt germany theres a local "celebrity" street musician who plays the drums on mostly pots and other junk while wearing one of those rubber horse masks. an absolute legend and the reason i KNEW its possible to make this sound good 8D

    Surprisingly, hitting random metal junk with drumsticks has been part of music for a while. When I was in high school, I was an all-state orchestra and we played Gypsy Chorus, which is from the 1850s, and involves the percussionists banging on random metal junk to sound like anvils. Definitely give it a listen
