I wish more religious people had the same outlook that you do. Especially in regards to how you explain how you took the time to and came to the conclusion how the bible are human made accounts of the word of God. I feel there are far too many people who use the bible, which was written by humans, to be the literal interpretation of the God's words and just twist it into something it was never meant to be because so many people had a hand in what was written and what wasn't.

God is the judge and God gave the judgement to the Son. Let me introduce him to you : The Lord God (my shepherd) A great sign appeared in the sky; a woman, clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant and cried out in labor and birth pains. She gave birth to a son, a male child; it is he who must shepherd all nations, with a rod of iron, and his child was caught up to God and his throne. The iron rod is the symbol of a law that never fails, it is the law of reciprocity of effects. This law includes the law of gravity as well as the law of affinities. What emanates from you returns to you after having traveled the universe, rubbing shoulders with those who are in affinity with you and returns amplified by all these beings who resemble you. In return, you receive retribution for your acts and actions. My Father and I generated a being (A-O) that we named Lord. The person (A) Lord was reunited with the soul (michel), which the woman gave birth to. The Lord is a person/angel (A) with a spirit (A-O) Lord, on which we placed our universal angel (O) God. He became the Lord God. --------------- In him dwells Christ-Michel The Shepherd

Don, I believe I am beginning to understand your mindset. For you there needs to be a rational argument to explain things. There is no rational arguement for the Christian faith. It must be taken on faith because spending your resources on those who are unproductive in society is irrational. Loving your enemies makes no humanly rational sense. That Jesus was God, died for our sins, and rose from the dead for our salvation is not humanly, rationally provable. In 1 Corinthians Paul said that he came preaching Christ crucified an anathema to Jews and foolishness to gentiles. That is the faith that I base my life on by the power of the Holy Spirit in my heart. No I cannot prove it with rational arguments but it is still the foundation of the last 55 years of my life.

True it canr be proven. But even if you could prove to me jesus resurrected (take me back in time and let me see him resurrect) that still wouldn't help. Deuteronomy 13 specifically tells us false prophets can do signs and wonders. Resurrecting wouldn't make jesus G-d or the messiah or a prophet or not a false proohet.

A little back story for your giggles. I moved out to Louisiana to take care of my mother as she is 74. Oh she is still running strong with her faith and church as we are Pentecostal. With that said, I don't attend church with her too often as the speaking in tongues and running around like a chicken with their heads cut off makes me laugh so hard I embarrass myself. My mother is one of those hypocrites that thinks she can go to church on Sunday then come home and swing at the dog with a shovel and still think she's going to heaven as long as she repents. So I usually play this song when she walks in from church every wed and Sunday.

The point is, if God is all powerful and all loving as Christians tell us he is then there would be no suffering. So that alone it proves that the Christion God does not exist.

    • @user-ld4xx1el6q

Part of God's love is to give us the free choice to choose Him or not. We chose to go our own way and in the process created suffering. It is the only thing we have created. In the process we destroyed the symmetry and balance of the universe and all the evil has followed from that. In His love He came and suffered with us and lived the perfect life we chose not to live and paid the ultimate price for OUR failure and the suffering WE created. That is Love.

@@user-ld4xx1el6q None of that addresses my point. If God is all loving and all powerful at the same time then obviously there would be no suffering. It really is that simple. And why is God so inept that the only way he could fix things is to have his own son tortured to death. What kind of father is he!

There is a story of a little boy who built a sail boat but the first time he sailed it the string broke and it floated away. Years later he saw his boat in the toy store in town. Per the store owners price the little boy worked hard and earned the money to buy the boat. As he left the store the merchant heard him say, "Little boat you are really mine now, I not only built you, I bought you." God made us for himself to love and be love by us and when we broke the string and floated away into sin He bought us with His blood on the cross. Our suffering is a result of our rebellion and sin. His compensation package is eternal life paid for with His own Blood on the cross. I am much more than satisfied.

I like Dr, Graham's statement that he believed in the divine inspiration of Scripture but not in the divine inspiration of any given English translation of Scripture. Unless you are fluent in Greek for the New Testament and Hebrew for the Old Testament you need to compare at least four different English translations, preferably from different theological traditions, to arrive at a reasonable idea of what the original languages said. I would like to add caveat. I have come to believe that Moses wrote the first five books in Egyptian hieroglyphics, which explains a lot of the pictorial language which was retained three of four hundred years later when Samual or some of David's scribes translated it into written Hebrew which had been invented in the meantime.

Much of these writings as read in the Bible, like those of Paul. For the time it is real. BUT My opinion comes in here!! Any writings have to be looked at on a number of sides to take some extras into account. (a) the writer, and his or her background etc. For example Paul came from a strict background and went from persecutingthe christians to being on the forefront. I believe that at times he wrote like he had some of this in him while writing on a topic. Thus he was possibly influenced by his own teachings before conversion. (b) The social and political issues of the region or area where the writer was at the time of writing. To my understanding some areas he was in had different situations that influenced his writings in order to reach those in that area. Therefore I do not believe that such text can apply today, if it were from a persons ability to teach a message or to reach a person it cannot be limited today to one gender. Besides I have heard it in the past from both genders and sometimes better received from one above the other. and I left out which on purpose. LoL.. This is a very tight and difficult topic to discuss at times.. Thank you for thi sone for thought.

Perhaps this person does not know the definition of the word. Empty sack---still nothing to show for your beliefs. There is active listening and then there is selective listening. This creator needs to do more of the former than the latter. Tough to put the words thinking and theology together and keep a straight face. Dogma despite the facts. I will never understand why a person does not just say, "I have faith in what I believe." Cannot have a serious discussion with someone who says they can prove religion, whichever manifestation of divine favor they may conjure.

@christofferlindberg6423 Your interpretation is clouded, as I agreed with Hitchens. I have been surprised on the channel that I originally thought that Christians would take more exception to the things I say, which are non-dogmatic and contemplative. Those who claim the name of atheist have been far more vocal and prejudicial, hearing things that aren't said and intolerant of anything short of complete agreement. Even the word "theology" has been triggering, which is ironic given that Hitchens and Dawkins and others repeatedly discuss theological topics. C'est le vie!

  • @DreamJeanne1111
    @DreamJeanne1111 Місяць тому

I believe this to be a song of seduction. It is the Devil putting you on notice. That you have free will and choice. He will try to seduce you with wealth, with taste, with lust, vengeance, murder, chaos, drugs. The devil will come in disguise of all the things that you desire most, especially power. Now you know. Be careful what you wish for. Such as in the verse where he talks of laying traps for troubadours before they reach Bombay. Like in the 27 club, and all the greats we lost through overdoses. He's introducing himself to you, he wants to shake your hand. He wants to tempt you mpt you with all the things he can give to you if you will only sell your soul to him. So if you're wondering who it is that is putting these destructive, selfish, greedy or lazy thoughts in your head and you decide to reach out and take them, it's because he's offering them. Just as every cop is a criminal, and all the sinners Saints, we all have the potential to do Good or Evil in this world. Even Jesus was tempted by Satan. So no matter who you are, no matter how good you are, no matter how bad you've been, You are not immune to Satan 's temptations, whether it be bloodlust in war, murder for vengeance, dumping chemical waste into City culverts, because it's easier and cheaper than disposing of it properly, these are choices that will tempt you, or turn your head around. Satan is right behind you egging you on. He is not Grand. He is vile. But you may not know until it's too late the hate that he has wrought in you. I also think it's become rather a haunted song. At the Altamonte Free concert in 1969, the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club were hired as security. It's rumored that the grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane recommended them to the Stones for this job, as they had used them before. There were several incidences of violence during the concert. Rumor, legend or truth, someone actually got stabbed and killed while the Stones were singing this song. Chilling. So yes, temptation and Satan's seduction will show up in many forms and in many ways. He will introduce himself to you. He will ask you to shake his hand. Don't do it. Also, he is acting blameless. Don't ask me who did all of those awful things, after all, I only asked. It was you that accepted. Don't blame me, blame yourself for the deal that you made with me. There is good and evil in this world. There is an eternal battle raging. Everything you do, everything you think, everything you choose, the smallest of things, makes a difference in this battle. The tiniest kindness, the tiniest cruelty, It is man that chooses who to ally himself with. The devil is also blame shifting, claiming innocence because it was not him that acted, but the soul that he made a deal with who did the deed. Just like serial killers and murderers often look completely normal and sometimes even attractive, The Devil will come in disguise of all the things that you desire most, especially power. Now you know. Be careful what you wish for. So when someone with wealth and taste introduces himself to you with promises of wealth, power, success, know that it comes with a price. Be aware of what is on offer and the consequences of your choices. Nothing comes free or easy in this life. And if you think that it does, if you want to win at any cost, there will be a price to pay. And not only for you, for the world and for the Universe. Because your actions and your thoughts have a ripple effect throughout all of eternity. What you decide matters, for your eternal soul, and for the very nature of the Universe and the battle between Good and Evil.

Around 4:00 It doesn't matter if God created men (and other beings) only to do good / his will. The free will is still as illusion because of God's omniscience. By Christian teaching. literally everything happens only because God wills it or allows it; aka, God's plan.

I think an oft overlooked issue with the "free will" defense against the problem of evil is that freewill is typically talked about as a black & white sort of dichotomy. "Either you have free will or you don't." But that's clearly and demonstrably false and I think most theologians would even concede that, upon refection, no one, not even God has _unlimited_ free will. For example, most theologians would agree that God can't lie, because it isn't in his nature to lie. I can agree with that conception, but this shows us that limiting one's nature, doesn't seem to ultimately prevent them from having free will, rather it prevents them from having _unlimited_ free will. As any mother if they think they even have the capacity to destroy their child without cause or provocation. Most will affirm that the are incapable, because it's not in their nature to do so. So not only does it appear that limiting one's free will via their very nature, it seems that specifically limiting one's free will to make them incapable of at least some types of sin is also something God is allowing. So the real question becomes why even make man capable of sin in the first place? It seems that limiting him in such a way is perfectly compatible with most theological concepts of free will, so would a world with inhabitants that are still free to make whatever choices that want, apart from sin, a preferable world to one where they can and do choose sin? I could even grant that a person could still freely reject God (which is a sin) but otherwise is incapable of any other sin, which should (at least from within the Christian worldview) get you to a world, absent pretty much any _perceivable_ sin but free will is still intact and God isn't forcing his subjects to choose him.

If you are Christian you have to accept that god does lie, as he does so in genesis when he says to Adam and Eve that if they eat the forbidden fruit they will die that day. And then comes along Satan and tells them the truth. Also you asserted that having free will is a false dichotomy without demonstrating it. I can’t see how it would not be.

@@AlexeiX1 _"If you are Christian you have to accept that god does lie"_ No, you don't. There are plenty of apologetics to explain that and various other apparent lies in the Bible. Yes, I agree that the claim that God can't lie seems dubious, but I'm happy to grant that to the Christian. But if you don't like that specific trait that is attributed to "God's nature" pick any other trait. It doesn't really matter for the point of the argument. Having _any_ specific "nature" is going to inherently limit one's free will. _That_ is the point. _"Also you asserted that having free will is a false dichotomy without demonstrating it."_ Already explained. Free will (as conceptualized by Christians) is not a binary, black & white phenomenon. On one end of the spectrum you have limitless free will (the ability to do anything) in the middle you have limited free will (free will, bound by one's own nature) and an absence of free will (determinism) Christians typically try to defend against things like the argument from evil, by relying on free will, specifically that "limiting" free will is somehow bad, but they totally ignore that the free will the seem to be experiencing (and the free will the attribute to their own God) is already very much limited, so the idea that limiting free will is bad simply doesn't hold water.

Again you failed to explain how it’s not a dichotomy. You just said that it’s a spectrum, saying there are two ends but not demonstrating what would be in the middle. There is no spectrum, there is no grading amount of free will. And also, If god is omniscient, there is no free will, just the illusion of one.

The first query to answer is does god actually exist as an independent agent?? There’s no evidence for that proposition. So the question why did god make Lucifer? Is actually irrelevant until the existence of god has been demonstrated with empirical evidence within a CAUSAL relationship. Since it’s already difficult as it is to draw empirical conclusions using just empirical evidence, I suspect it would be impossible to draw any cause < effect relationship between the physical universe and a Supernatural deity. That entity would need to be proven to have an “intellect”, what exactly would that intellect be held in Or bound to, one would need to show there is consciousness without any physical structure (something I don’t believe is physically possible). So it’s generally pointless to ask questions about a god without having demonstrated that entity’s actual existence.

I tried watching this and gave up before three minutes. The first speaker in the video being reviewed is disingenuous. He says God knows everything, including our "free will decisions." If God knows our decisions, then we are not free to choose. This was a word trick to assume we have free will. If God knows the future, then we have no free will. Then he says God knows the future but created Satan because some other being might have turned out to be worse. But again, if God knows the future, then he would understand about the being worse than Stan being created and not create him.
