I like your position on belief. I don’t believe there is NO god, I’m just NOT convinced that there IS one.

I don't know if there is a god...
But I'm very certain that none of the major religions interpretation of god is correct...
In that sense... I often say there is no god.

Thanks for this. I believe in God and don't get offended at what others do or say (as long as it isn't a full blown lie). Like you said, I don't get why people defend individuals or ways of thinking,, when these people or groups would not defend you. Like I said before, listening to others beliefs or thoughts can strengthen your belief because it may raise questions that causes you to do more studying.

Would you follow troth claims even if it made you deconvert? Or only studying to hammer home dogma and apologetics? Because I thought that way and when I really allowed myself to question my religion and read the book fully I left the faith

Comedy is stealth philosophy imo. LCK is a master.
Plato and a Platypus Walk into a Bar is one of my favorite books, an easy intro to philosophy. I was never that interested in philosophy per se but wrap a some in a joke or story I can grasp it.

You state that you have no problem with someone not believing in god, but do with someone saying that there is no god. I completely agree and have no belief in god. But how do I convince your theological brothers and sisters that they should not have one either? Because some of them REALLY don't like us.

@alexthomas9255 I wish I had an answer for trying to help people be more reasonable in their approaches to thinking (about anything, not just theology), but I've given up trying to convince people of anything. My overarching disposition is that I may be wrong on anything I believe, so trying to get others to believe what I do is a fool's mission to begin with. All I can do is say what makes sense to me, while leaving the door open for discussion. If atheists or theists take a pompous stance in discussions with me, I disregard them. And for the record, I don't have theological brothers or sisters, as I have no hard and fast views on the larger topics that are outside my grasp. I have arguments that make sense to me, but those are only the product of the premises I am supplying, and I may also be wrong about those. That's why I like folks who are kind and thoughtful regardless of their beliefs. Atheists tend to embrace me more than hardcore Christians, who want nothing to do with me. C'est la vie!
