Hi Don, very good topic. Another way to teach or explain this verse for people that don't understand the bible, is good competition. When playing games or sports, even with jobs, you don't get better unless you are challenged by someone more experienced. You'll never improve at any of these things unless you're challenged by someone with more experience. Thanks Don.
Good stuff right here. Disagreements are a good learning tool. I feel that is what is so wrong with society as a whole now. People don't listen to others objections or reasoning. In society opposing groups havee conditioned peoples thinking to where they believe that you're all in or all out. I have seen so many friendships and relationships broken and thrown away over differences in politics and religion. If everyone thought and acted the same, this world would be a pretty boring place. What do they say, variety is the spice of life. What are disagreements but just a variety of thinking? And doesn't our constitution address this as one our rights because the framers of the constitution knew opposing thoughts strengthen us and envoks new thinking and new ideas. So people should be open to hearing disagreements because it may spark ideas or questions that you may not of thought of.
@jcat__ Well put, Jeff!! Hanging in there with people is sometimes a test of personal endurance, and then one day we find out it was they who were enduring us. Humbling, and beautiful at the same time.
People do not understand that in a debate you should be able to support either side of the arguement. The only thing that I am dogmatic about is that we are saved by the blood of Jesus shed on the cross, received by grace alone, through faith alone supplied by the Holy Spirit alone, for the Glory of God alone.
