Great informative video. Very well thought out.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking to time to watch it.
Eso no es prueba de estabilidad...... Eso lo hago en cualquier tabla..... Prueba de estabilidad es pararse en los costados para ver si no se voltea esa madre..........
I don’t believe people will be standing on the sides while out fishing. Any boat or kayak that is misused from what the manufacturer standards are will turn over.
If you don't mind, where did you get the 2x2" square steel beam and how are the 12" beam pieces attached to the trailer frame? I have a 12' 1997 steel jet ski trailer that looks similar to yours and came from TN too. I have been using wooden bunks to carry my kayak, but I need to mount a rack like yours to carry an extra yak and/or a gear/rod box. These are great trailers too. Thanks
I get my 2x2 tube from a local shop called H&E steel. So any local metal shop near you should have some. And I bolted my 2x2 tube onto the frame just drill a 1/4” hole on each end and bolt it straight down it holds really well.
Hi mate if you have a ,,,,gas blow torch ,,,,heat up a box cutter blade red hot works better than drilling the hole in plastic it's a bit risky might crack and bugger up the job and make you feel a bit pooped of😊😊😊
Yea it is, but there’s a lot of 10-12 year olds that watch UA-cam to learn and I’m not comfortable showing that to them. I try to make it more people friendly especially for young adults. That does work better though and thanks for sharing it.
It is a good thing for fishing. But a bit heavy.
Yes it’s definitely heavy, but most fishing kayaks being made today is heavy.
Exactly what I was looking for
Hope it helps you out.
@@334tacticaloutdoors heck yea man, you made it simple, preciate it, got a 10 foot jon boat, use for crappie fishn, gona put a stick steer on it, actually it was a 1436, I cut it down to 1036, got me a couple 8 foot garden stakes for it, it’s gona be good, especially being able to stick steer and have me a little dial for my speed and foward and reverse, All the sloughs I fish with it is in the woods, in the bottoms, no big wind can get to em, so it’s perfect for stuff like that, got a bigger boat for bigger water
@clayton203 that was the reason I made the video just to show the straight forward hookup. Glad it helps. I appreciate you watching.
Awesome video can’t wait to get mine setup. Getting the new wilderness tactical pro 128 in April.
Thank you!! That’s a very nice kayak to get.
How much
Today’s price of the Acsend 133X is $1099.99 each location can have special sales or discounts. Contact your local Basspro shop or Cabela’s store to check store price.
What wire did you use for that length of a run inside the hull. The only 8 I can find locally is THHN wire. Not really wanting to damage my kayak or trolling motor
I used 8awg marine wire.
@@334tacticaloutdoors thank you for getting back to me!
You’re welcome!! If you ever need any help just ask.
@@334tacticaloutdoors why did you choose to run your release rope through the hull, rather than a short rope and and pulley system on top of the hull up to the beginning of the walking area? I’m concerned those holes would allow water in. Not saying what you did is wrong, just wondering.
@jamiebell5809 I like everything to be out my way and off my deck. If you seal everything correctly it doesn’t allow water into the hull.
More videos, please! 🎥
I try to.
I did the same connection and my motor wont do reverse…. What am I doing wrong???
My pwm is 100 amps
Check all your wiring something is crossed or you have a bad PWM.
@@334tacticaloutdoors this is my second pwm, and my other motor (36 lbs) works perfectly
My small motor (36 lbs) works perfectly with all pwm’s i have
What size motor are you hooking up to it? If the PWM is good and working fine with another motor then you need to check the trolling motor.
How do you steer the trolling motor from the seat? Is the drain plug workable since it is so high above the bottom??
Yes the drain plug does work when the hull is taking on water. I control the trolling motor with cables run thru the hull to the foot pedals.
@@334tacticaloutdoors how about a video with trolling motor and rod holders and fish finder setup?😁🐟🎣
I don’t have one on the Acsend, but I have one on my lifetime Yukon kayak. ua-cam.com/video/JcMLp3NHjjk/v-deo.htmlsi=ruKsB_uYTeMgl4HA
Do you change gauge before installing to the PWM?
If you have to add any wire to the trolling motor to reach the battery yes use 8 awg. Anytime you use a PWM use at least 8awg wire.

I read all comments and think it's poorly made because of weakness of floor, that it cracks so easily. Now I would like to see this boat and judge others like the OT 106 and imagine how easily it would crack or handle wear and tear
Well comparing this kayak to an Old Town 106 is like night and day difference. The old town is 10’ 6” and the Ascend 133x is 13’. Now you’re right it’s a thinner plastic to keep price down, but any kayaks wear and tear depends on the owner and how they’re taken care of I’ve reviewed both of these kayaks and they both have there ups and downs.
How hard was it to tread the cables through? Any advice before I dive in and do it to mine?
It is not hard once you drill the holes in the rear it’s just access to the entire inside of the hull. That’s the same as opening that front hatch.
@@334tacticaloutdoors got ya, ya I’m installing a 6 inch hatch in the back for access so I’ll just go there and the front! Thanks!
You’re welcome!!
Great explanation
Thank you.
Great explanation
Thank you.
Any stability test done from inside isn’t useful, get some big waves coming at it see how it handles.
Kayak stability is the same in big waves, or in a pond. It all comes down to the person and if they know how to approach waves.
How did you run the quick connect through the kayak
Remove the flush mount rod holders use a clothes hanger and tie some string on the end insert it in the flush mount rod holder hole then lift the kayak the clothes hanger will slide all the way to the front hatch tie the quick connect wire to the string and pull it thru.
Can you drill holes into the floor of your kayak for accessories
Yes in the floor you can just never drill in the bottom of the kayak.
@@334tacticaloutdoors Thank you so much that is so cool, didnt get the notification, I have a secret Im doing Ill tell you I hope not everybody reads this. great video my speed arm extender came off ? and now my reverse does not work it should be 5 forward & 3 reverse but it not turning ? only allowing me to turn 8 x one way Hope this makes sense cam=n you advise please.
Sounds like the speed control that the extender attaches to has either broke or gone bad. You could probably replace it or just hook a PWM up to it and remove the head all together.
@@334tacticaloutdoors Sorry what is a PWM ? New to this lol 😂
@FishingWithJay04 here’s my video on a PWM. How to hook up a PWM (pulse width modulator) to control a trolling motor. ua-cam.com/video/NdA61Oh1OiM/v-deo.html
Is there a reason for the axle to be more towards the front than being in the rear? Trailer looks great.
You wanna make sure to keep as much weight equal on a trailer. My axle is in the center of the trailer frame which makes it where it doesn’t bounce and ride rough. If the axle was more to the rear it would put all the weight to the tounge and make the trailer seem heavier than it should.
@@334tacticaloutdoors might have to try and do the same thing on mine. Thanks for the info.
@melvinrubio2278 you’re welcome!!
125lbs is rediculous!
Yea it’s heavy, but the Hobie PA14 is over 150lbs. Kayaks for fishing are getting heavier due to size and features.
I just got the blue one for 200 bucks at walmart im so pumped right now😂😂 it was a one day sale and a friend thankfully seen them putting out the signs and called me i went atraight there they also had every other kayak on sale for 100 bucks whixh is crqzy deals for tamarack tahoma ozark pelican all of them
That’s awesome.
Good video. You answered every question I had about this kayak. Walmart has the blue one for $440 at the moment. That is a good deal for what you are getting with it.
Yes that is a very good deal. You will definitely enjoy this kayak.
How wide is the seat will it fit a wide ass?
update the 100amp is still available
The PWM is no longer available on Amazon
Yea they change sellers after so long. Glad you found one.
How come kayakers don't attach outriggers to them? That would make it nearly impossible to flip them over
Some kayakers do, but they interfere with the Maneuverability of the kayak.
@@334tacticaloutdoors If you are in a kayak race, I understand. But if you are fishing, stability should be more desirable.
A kayak already has great stability as long as you’re buying the right fishing kayak. But most of us get a kayak to fish the areas boats can’t go. Like I said some people add the outriggers but, myself I have no desire or reason to add them.
Now thats a nice set up right there
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
How much does it weigh
It weighs 125lbs.
I have a prowler 30lb thrust that looks identical to yours. My question is how do you fix the extended handle. Mine just comes out on its own. I would like for you to do a video on it. May sound elementary but I may be missing parts that makes it just slide out. Also is the switch a universal switch for all of the minn kota motors?
The silver piece of the handle that connects to the switch should have a small screw in it. And yes that switch is almost the same in all 30lb motors.
@@334tacticaloutdoors I was given this trolling motor off the boat and the guy took it apart when we got back to his house and tore it apart and that is where the piece(s) started missing. The switch quit working so that is why i started asking questions. I want to fix this and mount it on the back of my boat. Where do you order your switches at?
You would come out cheaper hooking it up to a PWM and connecting a handle for steering. ua-cam.com/video/NdA61Oh1OiM/v-deo.htmlsi=vT9w83HdFnLyIFTq
@@334tacticaloutdoors watched that but are you putting the handle back on the pipe for steering? Or do you have something else to put in it’s pkace
@rickwilson2848 you can make any handle. You can attach it by drilling a hole and putting a bolt through it.
Great idea
Thank you.
Will this work on a home built ebike with 24volt dc motor 2600rpm? 350 watt razor scooter motor. The OEM controllers will shutdown below about 21 volts.
You would need to know the amp draw that motor has to see if the 100 amp PWM would work, but yes with the correct amps it would work.
I lost what would have been my pb right next to the yak. I held her on the first 2 jumps the she spit it on the 3rd
Yea it hurts to see there size then loose them.
Haha yeah it’s so annoying when it happens 😂
Yes it is.
You have impeccable balance.
Thank you.
Hey man. So why do we need to cut the shafts down to 36" i have the 54" salt water xi3 it was on sale for 1/2 off so decided couldnt pass that up. So i got it all mounted to my ss127 and i dont really see why i should cut it down. Its not in the way so was curious if there was any reasoning behind it or guys just like it shorter to cast off the front. Any input helps. Thanks again for your videos. I used your bungee cord idea and the 2 handle ideas. Works perfectly.
That’s the main reason to keep it short and out the way when casting, and when u stow It it’s not all the way back into your deck space hitting your drypod. 36” is the normal length for a kayak. Thanks for watching my videos it’s good to hear they are helping out.
Is it a big difference from putting the motor in the front versus the back?
Yes it is, to me it’s a lot better.
What size bolts did you use to mount it?
@@AlleyCatPro24 it was 2” x 1/4” Allen head bolts to mount the bow plate down.
Can you do a video on how you rigged it
Everything I did to rig this is uploaded on my channel here and I covered how it was done.
@@334tacticaloutdoors ty for responding your the goat dope vid
You’re welcome
How did you feed your cord through the flex tubing?
@@4bhuggins821 I fed wire through the flex tube and taped it to the cord then pulled the cord back through.
Quick reply! This is the best Xi3 deploy video I’ve seen and I’ve watched many!
Did you install the tubing first into the hull and then feed the cord through using the wire?
@4bhuggins821 yes the flex pipe was installed first cause I had to flare the ends of the flex pipe.
Thank you!! I really appreciate to hear great feedback.
Love the video man. Excellent ideas. I am installing an Xi3 on my kayak and will be using the bungee cord and dual handle ideas for sure. My question is why did you go with the bonafide plate vs the one objective? I keep going back and forth and which one to get. Would love your opinion.
One objective has a really great trolling motor mount, but where it comes back it screws into the screw inserts which to me just isn’t enough. The Bonafide plate you actually do drill a hole and insert a small backing spacer that adds security to me. They are both great options.
Well, that genius set up just got ya a new subscriber. I am going to oick one of those yukons up today so I may need to hit you up for some help on the troller deal. Great job brother!
I appreciate the kind feedback. That is what my channel is for helping guys achieve the setup they want.
What size wire for the battery to pwm
8awg is best from the battery to the PWM and also from the PWM to the trolling motor.
I want to install a different bow mount to run my Autoboat GPS system. How did you visualize the bolts on the install of your mounting plate? It seems like the deck plate is a bit far back and not in line of sight to install the bolts. Did you do it by feel? I’m nervous about that… thanks for the video, subscribed!
All you can do is measure the inside of the hull from where u install the deck plate to the very front of the bow. Then you can get the measurement on top of the bow the biggest thing don’t get to close to the very front of the bow, make sure you have room to get bolts through and the washer and nuts on. Just get close as you can it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Can you elaborate on your like and dislikes between the Outlaw 11.5 and the SS127. I have narrowed it down to those two Kayaks. Thank you.
The difference is night and day being honest. I absolutely love my outlaw, but the dislikes was no storage unless I added it harder to add my Motorguide xi3 bow mount trolling motor and it was only 11’ 5” long. The SS127 has plenty of storage much easier to rig easier to mount a bow mount trolling motor it’s 12’ 7” long. Now likes both are super stable, both look incredible when rigged out. The perception is cheaper and is a really great kayak, but the ss127 is a lot better kayak in my opinion.
You sir would make a great teacher, great explanation with no excess bull -well done
Thank you for the very kind feedback. It means a lot knowing my video helps and is easy to follow.
