    Thanks for the straightforward review! I've had my eye on one of these for a couple months and I'll go ahead and order one after seeing this. If you can make it down to south florida, I've got a helluva lake full of peacock bass and largemouth with almost no boat traffic

      Thank you for wonderful feedback. It’s really a great kayak. Thanks for the invite I wish I could make some time to come to Florida, I live in Alabama, but between work UA-cam and fishing I stay booked. Thank you for watching the video and giving great feedback l.

    Thanks for the fantastic unbiased review, i have watched a lot in the past week, i am looking for a very stable kayak, did you find a significant difference in stability and performance between the 106 and outlaw 11.5. Thanks Steve

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  Рік тому

      Thank you, Stability there both about the same. The 106 does come with storage, it’s easier to paddle and has a better seat. Overall it really comes down to looks and how your wanting to modify.

    I have a 106 & 120 and they are the most stable kayaks I’ve ever been on! I’ve went down rapids backwards standing up and never felt unsafe.

    • @334tacticaloutdoors

      Yes it is stable I have this 106 and the Perception Outlaw both of these are incredible for standing and fishing.

      Is there a major difference as far as stability between the 106 and 120? I'm looking to get one or the other. The 106 would be much easier for me to transport, but I'm 6'2 about 245 and I also want to be able to stand and fish so I want the most stable option. Thanks

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  Рік тому +2

      Stability wise there’s no difference for your size I would suggest the 120. It has a lot more room and can handle more weight. If you’re not wanting to take a lot of gear the 106 would be just fine.

    • @jefffrey5794
      @jefffrey5794 Рік тому +2

      @@devindpotts I can stand up on either of them easy. The 106 is slightly more stable being a inch wider but the 120 is more spacious. Both are incredibly stable in my opinion but you can feel a slight difference if you have both of them on the water. I’ve had a lot of weight 300+ on each one with no issues. Pick whichever one suits your needs space wise, me and friends have floated with a kid between our legs, in the back or sitting up front on each kayak so they both have room, just how much room do you need? Sit in both of them before you buy them and invest in a nice cart for either one you choose. Hard to say which one I prefer better. I can spin around faster in the 106 but I do like the extra space in the 120.

      @jefffrey5794 Рік тому +2

      @@devindpotts if I could go back and do it again I would have got a PDL version. I didn’t want to get it because of all the shallow river fishing I do but I regret not having the option to put pedals on if I took it elsewhere.

    Awesome review! The only thing is, I’ve watched you do several kayak review videos and you’re pretty thorough. I just want something that is comfortable, reliable, and can handle a 200 lb guy? There’s days I’d like to hit small bodies of water and don’t want to take the boat. So it wouldn’t be my primary source for fishing. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

      Be careful cause once you get started kayak fishing you’ll be hooked lol. The Oldtown sportsman 106 or the Oldtown sportsman 120 would be great for your size the only difference between the 2 is the 106 is 10’6” and the 120 is 12’.

    good review, i found the kayak too short for 220 pound guy . coming down a short stretch of fast flowing turbulent water the front got submerged a bit too quickly. i upgraded to the 120.

    How hard is the 106 to get moving? Heard its a little bit of a barge, which has stopped me from grabbing one. What is an average cruising speed and is it tough to maintain? Thanks

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  Рік тому +1

      The 106 is very easy to paddle you just need to make sure to get a 230cm or 240cm paddle. Everyone paddles differently, but it does track very well and it holds great speed.

    Can you please help me to know what will be better in Pescador vs 106 ?

    • @334tacticaloutdoors
      @334tacticaloutdoors  Місяць тому +1

      Oh goodness this is a tough one. I will start off by saying the Oldtown is 10’ 6” long and the pescador pro is 12’ long so it’s a little longer. The Oldtown does have a storage hatch where the pescador doesn’t have one. Now when it comes to stability the old town is a tad better in my opinion so I would say it’s gonna come down to the style, look and length that you want. Either kayak will be a great kayak to buy and you want regret it. I hope this helps, but these 2 are hard to choose from.
