I was thinking using the smaller ammo box and battery behind the seat for a Garmin striker 4 and scruber hole transducer. Lifetime Tamarack Pro. Just got it, working on my crate and anchor trolley
Hello very informative video I just recently purchased the same kayak and am looking to upgrade it like yours. I have the same minkotta 30 motor and a Garmin fish finder and the ammo boxes all I need now is the battery's which I will be copying your set up but I had a question in ur video as u show where ur wire go to from ur motor battery to the pwm ( what is that)?
The PWM controls the forward and reverse and the speed of the trolling motor once you take the head off a trolling motor. How to hook up a PWM (pulse width modulator) to control a trolling motor. ua-cam.com/video/NdA61Oh1OiM/v-deo.html
Remove the flush mount rod holders use a clothes hanger and tie some string on the end insert it in the flush mount rod holder hole then lift the kayak the clothes hanger will slide all the way to the front hatch tie the quick connect wire to the string and pull it thru.
The weather has been bad today, I will get you a updated video of the trolling motor mount up as soon as I can. I will comment here when I get it posted thanks for your patience.
When and why did you change from the hook2 fish finder to the Garmin? Was it just a straight upgrade or were you having issues with the hook 2? Wanted to say thanks for posting all of these videos, I plan on mimicing you exaxt build here in Southern California and as someone whose never lifted a power tool or worked with electricals a day in my life you have made this project seem doable for a guy like me. Really enjoy your content and hope to see some more videos from you soon. You have yourself a new subscriber friend. 👍
There was absolutely no issue with the hook 2 I just wanted the garmin to get side scan and down image. I’m truly grateful my videos help you and others. I really appreciate all the support on my channel. If you ever need any help just ask I’ll do what I can. Thanks again
Oh okay, I am very new to on water fishing, been a bank fisherman my whole life didn't realize there was different scanning and imaging. Do you think you could point me in the right direction to some type of guide or video on how you chopped those quick connections and rewired them to your battery and pwm and stuff? I'm sure you left that out because of how simple it is but I've never done anything with wiring or electronics so I'm a bit nervous to just go hacking away at wires. Wouldn't want to mess anything up.
@@matthewweber4621 them SAE wire connections come with a male and female end so u just cut them in half then just like my video on PWM shows the red wire goes to positive and the black wire goes to negative for the battery and same for the trolling motor.
@@334tacticaloutdoors and the SAE connections you linked in that video, is that the same one you mounted near the back of your yak that your trolling motor plugged into? The connection just looked slightly different from the other ones you linked. Is it just a different brand of SAE connection but same concept? Sorry for all the questions
Very informative. Thank you for explaining and showing everything in Detail. I Enjoy you channel.
Thanks

@@matthewweber4621 yes it sure is
Is that 6 hours on max amp used or stopping and going from lower speeds to higher speeds
No the 6-6.5 hours is intermittent from high to low speeds. The battery is right at 40ah.
Can you link the quick connects that you used?
Them quick connections for the battery charger come with the charger. Is it them your asking about?
Yes sir. Thank you
@@mikeperez6512 you’re welcome.
