I appreciate the “How To” videos from those that are handy with their hands. It gives me confidence that I can follow your video and do the exact same thing to my Perception Outlaw kayak. I’m very interested in putting a trolling motor on the front of my POK.
Great step by step video, concise and plenty of good info, Thank you. So what can you store in that hatch now, is it just for running wiring and bolting in gear mounts or can you put Tackle and gear in there? Can the gear go all the up through to the bow making it hard to retrieve? Is it water tight in there so you can store a jacket, etc? I just bought an Outlaw so I'm curious. Thanks again!
Thank you!! I installed my hatches for wiring and I installed a bow mount trolling motor also. The inside is wide open in the middle now I put a front hatch in also that area is more enclosed. The rear is open also. I have a video of more storage options for this kayak if you’re interested in seeing it.
Just ordered two bro. Nice vid btw. I had a friend to cut out the third one out for me out of 16 gauge metal which will be used for part of the steering mechanism on the rear.
@@334tacticaloutdoors Yea bro, excellent hatch install, very clean and also you took the time to sand the edges with your Dremel tool to look pro, I want to do same to my kayak, learning from you but videos need to be funny too. Every video i saw from others they don't do the water test like you did and is very important because that's the final question... if it leak.
@@edgarvilmanyi3948 well I don’t believe in showing how to do projects like that without it being the proper way. I appreciate you noticing the small things. Like I said before thank you for your feedback.
Did putting a hatch on the deck of the outlaw make the deck more flimsy? I’m worried that if I put a hatch in the deck location for dry storage, I’ll lose some structural stability.
@@ryanclayton5085 yeah it does have a little more flex than I was expecting but doesn’t lack any stability while out on the water. I don’t even notice the flex until it’s on land
No it’s a 5” deck plate. www.amazon.com/H2o-Inch-Deck-Plate-Black/dp/B00AQFDA88/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=7IFJU2CSH5RQ&keywords=5%22+deck+plate&qid=1688315039&sprefix=5+deck+plate%2Caps%2C218&sr=8-4
@@334tacticaloutdoors yes sir..I finally found the right size.. I've purchased a 1" polygranite cutting board ..2 quick connects.. the deck plates and the mount system.. wish me luck.. and thank you for all your videos... they help allot

Thank you!! I put a bow mount trolling motor on my outlaw in a different video if you wanna watch it. I really appreciate the kind feedback.
Could not see the screws he used but it seems they were pointed self-tappers. So now there is sharp points to cut your hand when you put your hand in
I used #8 x 1/2” stainless steel screws and no they don’t cut you when you put your hand in they barely go through.
saved a lot of money going with those over the harmony too!
Yes you can save a lot of money with them

Great job. Would you install this hatch on the Lifetime Yukon. I’m just to gain access to run wiring to the trolling motor and lights.
I have a Yukon I ran all my wiring without a hatch, but yea u can install a hatch.

No It didn’t loose any structural stability. Once you get one installed you’ll notice how that area was made to have a hatch.
I just got mine a couple days ago, no hatch yet, but I have quite a bit of flex in my deck while standing on it.... anyone have the same?
@@ryanclayton5085 there’s some flex to it cause of how big of a area it is. Now it shouldn’t be a lot of flex.

The flex is more when not in the water just keep a eye on it, but I believe it’s normal flex
I am starting the process of this..I can't find 5" plates.. it's only 4, 6, or 8".. did you mean 6"?
No it’s a 5” deck plate.
