i wanted to thank you sir for this extremely in depth video, wich determined whether or not i was going to buy one of these. that said , i pick up my new kayak tomorrow morning. thanks 334. I'm in SW Florida and plan on many FL keys trips for spear fishing and some shallow flats fishing. Done very well on an inflatable 13 ft paddle board, during lobster season, as well as tooling around the backwater for snapper and redfish. This helped me take the leap and upgrade. Thanks amigo

These kayaks are awesome! Couple things that I mentioned on Untamed Outdoors channel, is that this boat is long and heavy. If you’re planning on buying one, make sure you have the means to transport it. It isn’t gonna be fun to throw it on top of a sedan. Another thing is that a few people have complained of the deck cracking at the feet position. The foam blocks that are inside aren’t fixed into place and will work themselves out of position over time. If you reach inside, you can move them back into place to help support your weight.

    • @334tacticaloutdoors

Mine is great at the feet position now in front of the box is weak. My next couple videos on this kayak will detail all the flaws I find.

@@334tacticaloutdoors I realized those foam blocks needed repositioned as well, after I stepped up front to adjust the trolling motor. I’m sure I speak for quite a few, can’t wait to see the 133X content!

My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

Forget paddling, I put a 24 v , 80lbs thrust Ulterra trolling motor on mine. I was able to do that because the trolling motor mounts are so sturdy on this thing. Even though its 13' I throw it in the back of my pick up.

@@hanburgundy4317 Hey bro, how are you. Yeah this kayak is I think 125 or 135 lbs dry and empty. If you were gonna put it in the back of a pick I would say go for it because thats what I do but to put it on the roof of an SUV? Its not that you cant physically do it but there is no room for era.
Its not gonna be easy to keep it centered and if it accidently shifts off to either side it may damage paint, glass or the side mirrors plus it think its a bit heavy haul on top of a vehicle. Check out the youtube harbor freight trailers they customize for kayaks. I would definitely get a trailer.

Excellent job on the review, just subscribed today and I'm interested in the Asend 133X, very affordable and available locally. I do wish it had a peddle drive like the Native Kayak, It would be much better than the storage box in the middle of the kayak. It also does not have a rudder which I prefer, it seems as though it is best off with dual trolling motors. Aside from that, I like it! I'm also considering the Milha Lite Skiff 13 foot which canbe fitted with an outboard motor up to 15 hp. Thanks again for the excellent review!

I read all comments and think it's poorly made because of weakness of floor, that it cracks so easily. Now I would like to see this boat and judge others like the OT 106 and imagine how easily it would crack or handle wear and tear

Well comparing this kayak to an Old Town 106 is like night and day difference. The old town is 10’ 6” and the Ascend 133x is 13’. Now you’re right it’s a thinner plastic to keep price down, but any kayaks wear and tear depends on the owner and how they’re taken care of I’ve reviewed both of these kayaks and they both have there ups and downs.

So I've had this same kayak (Acend 133x) for 13 months now. I store it out in the yard with a cover on it, and it is just fine. No extra support needed for the trolling motor. I've had it out in the bay, brackish, and fresh water. It's held up to 1 to 2 foot waves and high winds. I'm 6'4...230 lbs, plus the battery, trolling motor, battery for my navigation/fishfinder, 52 QT cooler ice and fish, 3 fishing poles, back up paddle, 7.5 lbs anchor, net, rags, wallet and keys oh and a separate smaller cooler for food and a 1/2 Gallon water jug. I haven't had any problems what so ever. Top speed with all that is 4 mph. Even had a drag a capped size kayak full of water once after a kid fell in the water for almost two miles and still didn't have any problems with the kayak or the trolling motor and mount. It's a well made kayak. Does it have flaws yes, but nothing major. It has pros and cons, just like EVERY kayak out their. I love mine wouldn't give it up for anything.
