    Not a big fan of the canned chicken either but I've made a gravy, added the chicken water and all maybe add your potatoes and a can of carrots - you have chicken stew. For the corned beef I'd add the potatoes and top it with an egg if possible. Hope this helps make these more palatable. 👍

    I. Totally disagree on food prepping it’s a lot of crap it’s all in your head just buy as u need if. U good prep it’s being greedy and then. Theirs not much for the rest of. Us in Australia. We don’t food prep we buy what we need

    • @ForeverHomemaker

      We all think differently on this, and that is totally fine you don't agree. Everyone's circumstances are different. If you just buy a couple extra items a week it doesn't put any strain on the food supply system. There is always extremists I agree that is not what I am saying at all. Just to have a little cushion in case of hard times doesn't hurt what so ever. But this is just my opinion.

    I have seen a lot of prepping , where people buy a lot of food. But out of all this , there's only one person who spends a lot of money $$$$$$$$ . Who has a huge garage that has solar panels on the roof , to supply 10 freezers, 10 refrigerators , and so much more and well Organized, including the home. Unbelievable. Buy per years 2 sides of beef ( cows ) for slaughter and it's packed to stay in the freezers . 2 Pigs slaughter house and meat packed . they have a huge garden , a bunch of chickens , etcc. Enough food to last 30 plus years. Not counting the huge groceries $$$$$$$ . It reminds me of a Food distributer.

      Those "extremists" didn't do it overnight and either had a bad situation wake them up to the reality that they need to be as ready as possible for next time, or they simply see the writing on the wall and want to be as ready as they can be. You never know exactly what or when things will happen nor how long you'll need to dip into what you've got stocked up. Better to have it and not need it than need I and not have it. Of course, you don't have to do that if you don't want to. It may behoove you, however, to do it anyway. Start small. Grab 5 extra cans or spend 5 extra bucks each shopping trip. Extra pack of socks, extra pack of batteries, extra this, extra that. It adds up. If single parents can do it, if seniors on SS can do it, so can you.

      Sorry i guess I should of explained that a little better. The Ninja is a 9 in 1 machine. It does pressure cook, steams, sears, dehydrates, slow cooks, makes yogurt, air fry, broils and bakes. You use the pressure lid for 4 of these settings, but with the yogurt setting you keep the seal on vent so not to build pressure.

    Yes, but Greek yoghurt (and "yoghurt" DOES have an H in it) has single cream in it too. It's not just milk⚠️

    • @ForeverHomemaker
      @ForeverHomemaker 29 днів тому

      Here where I live in Canada there is no H in yogurt. I read the directions straight from the Ninja cooking book and all over Google -straining the whey creates Greek Yogurt no need to add anything else unless you want to. I just add honey and its really good and good for you.

    • @ForeverHomemaker
      @ForeverHomemaker 29 днів тому

      And I forgot there is the plain yogurt with active bacteria you add after the boil process which is in the video as well. Hope that clarifies a little better for you. I'm sure there are other ways to make yogurt but this is our way and my family does enjoy it. And the simpler the process the better in my opinion anyway.

    Soggy rags do nothing except increase drying time. Soaps already contain glycerin, a byproduct of saponification. You’re rinsing it out then adding it back. Vinegar isn’t a fabric softener. More wishful thinking…

    • @ForeverHomemaker
      @ForeverHomemaker 2 місяці тому

      You can replace fabric softener with vinegar. It can soften fabrics without using chemicals, and it helps prevent static. That is the purpose of the cloths for the dryer, and you ring them out pretty good before putting in the dryer, I thought I explained that in the video. Saponification is simply the process of making soap which does produce glycerol aka glycerin. Vegetable glycerin (which is what I used) is not just used for homemade soap making but is great for fabric softeners along with essential oils. Many many many websites explain this. I am sad to say I'm thinking my channel is not the right fit for you.

    • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
      @FrankGutowski-ls8jt 2 місяці тому

      @@ForeverHomemaker You’re confused. Glycerol is a product of saponification, right. It’s carried along with the soap, and I guess in that sense is “used for” soap making, homemade and commercial. Maybe you mean added to soap. It’s not a fabric softener. Nor is vinegar. These are clueless housewife myths. Never proven, just repeated. So little vinegar is used that it makes no difference. Only 5% of vinegar is acetic acid, which is then diluted by over 5 gal of water. Logical fallacy: many websites concur about something or other, so, therefore, it must be right! It’s hard to believe mature adults think like this… The video is just another roundup of tips that already have been beaten to death.

    • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
      @FrankGutowski-ls8jt 2 місяці тому

      @@ForeverHomemaker I just glanced through a Google search of DIY softener-related links. A cheapskate site talks about using vinegar, which supposedly eliminates traces of soap; it then suggests adding EOs to Epsom salt and dumping that in! Problem: ES contains magnesium. Do you know why that’s bad? Acidifying a soap solution with vinegar reduces its solubility by shifting the equilibrium from soluble sodium or potassium salts of fatty acids (ie, soaps) to insoluble fatty acids. It does the opposite of what’s needed! Good luck finding technically competent proof of the vinegar-as-a-softener theory. If you have never come across confirmation bias, look it up. You epitomize it.

  • @FrankGutowski-ls8jt
    @FrankGutowski-ls8jt 2 місяці тому

    Why two water softeners? WS will suffice. You think Borax produces suds? Really? 1.5 cups of soap is enough for only 3-5 loads. She’s washing 160 with that amount! (Consult Bronners Dilution Cheat Sheet for correct amount.) EOs are washed away and wasted. They emit toxic VOCS. Avoid inhalation!!! Nothing in the dishwasher tabs dissolves grease and oil. More wishful thinking. Avoid this nonsense.

    • @ForeverHomemaker
      @ForeverHomemaker 2 місяці тому

      Wow Thank you Frank for your feedback. You are correct I rewatched and i did miss speak about the borax and suds. The dishwasher tabs work fabulous, no grease or oil left on any of the dishes, and I've done many loads. Not wishful thinking at all. Give it a try before putting it down. Essential oil scents may not always come through very strong in the wash but feel free to have a look at this article pranatherapy.nz/blogs/news/the-truth-about-vocs-and-essential-oils . And if you want to use a different amount of soup in the laundry detergent feel free, your house your rules, my house my rules. You have a fabulous day.
