Its EASY to install a saw blade on the WEN Scroll Saw Model 3920
Scroll sawing has been on my list since my grandpa let me *help* him as a little kid. I'm finally at the point where I have the time and attention span. 😂 I'm currently suffering from analysis paralysis regarding my first purchase. 😂(I'm not new to power tools just this one) So I can appreciate the fine line between "gets the job done for less" and "get what you paid for". I think the learning curve of scroll sawing lends itself benefits from less bells and whistles and creature convenient features kinda like a good sewing machine. I'm heavily leaning towards the Wen, as all the reviews I see are mostly positive and the price point is a sweet spot. I appreciate you showing your set up on dealing with the vibration. That was quite helpful as were your other videos on blade changes. I'm not sure when I will finally make the decision(probably 1 am on a random Saturday) 😂 you know.. after everyone has gone home from the viewing party. 😂😂😂. Thanks for the content. It's very helpful.
Is there a blade holder attachment holder for multiple blade holders. I mean, just to keep them organized.
That's slick! Thanks! I am looking to purchase a scroll saw on a budget!
Thanks for another informative video. I just bought the Wen 3921 model and it came with all three types of blade holders included. I also bought another set of the new style pinless blade holders in case the ones it came with ever wear out and stop clamping properly. I also am using a nut driver handle with a hex socket to tighten the cap screws. I find it easier then using a little allen wrench. Especially when tightening the bottom holder. Thanks again for another great video.
Great idea
Thank you! 😁
Thx for sharing
You're welcome!
The blade is installed to keep the upper arm from flopping around in shipping. The warning about not lifting by the upper arm (a natural handle) is because the only thing that keeps the limit of how high it goes is the back cover and you can break it and the arms under the cover are rather delicate and can be bent/broke. The double parallel arm saws have much less vibration than parallel arm and C frame saws. Securing your saw will reduce the vibration a lot.
Thanks for the information!
Helpful video. Thx!
I am glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Do you have to have the dremel hanging above the flex shaft when using it.
I have heard that, but not tested it. I have found that hanging the dremel makes the flex shaft easier to handle.
Awesome, thanks for that!
You are welcome! I am glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!
Super helpful video. Thank you!!! I was going mad trying to fix my issue
I am glad it was helpful!
Thank youuuuuu!!!

Q-tips are a good resource for cleaning up clue on these type of joints.
Thats a great..well.. uh.. tip! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this! Bought a new saw last week and the cuts were curving weird at the front of the cut. I’ll have to check all this tonight.
Good luck!
Will the shaft still cut through metal with say a seperating disk to silver, really need your help here x
I haven't tried that. I would check the owners manual if you have it or the dremelwebsite. They might have a chat feature for customer support.
I love my Christmas tree ornament! Thank you. It’s hanging on my Christmas tree now.🎄♥️
I am so glad you enjoy it!
I'm interested in the Pegas saw and I see users being thrilled with the Pegas coming from using a cheaper saw but wonder if you ever used an rbi hawk saw to compare it to. I have a 20" Hawk and dont wanna buy the Pagas if it's not exceptionaly better.
You are correct in that my comparison is a much less expensive scroll saw. I am afraid that I am not familiar with the Hawk scroll saw and don't have any information to add to your question. Good luck!
Thanks for the review, Ill be watching for more content. I bought a 20" rbi Hawk way back in 1990 and still have it today. Just took the motor apart and cleaned everything plus did some tweeks and now runs better than ever... Very smooth running and nice cutting saw. Have you used a Hawk saw and how does it compare to the new Pegas?
No, I don't have any experience with a Hawk scroll saw.
Wow! You can dance!❤
Thank you, its my fall back plan in case woodworking doesn't work out. :-)
Genius
Why thank you!😁
So cool!! ❤
:-)
My plain end clamps quit holding my plain end blades. I had a Central Machinery from HF. Dont bother wasting the $100 . I got a 22" Bauer from HF for a Christmas gift. I absolutely love it. No more fidgeting with those hokey clamps trying to figure out exactly where to put the blade. Loving it. Frett work is soooo much faster🎉
Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your experience with the Bauer.
Love your presentation style, thanks a lot. Do scroll sawyers use jigs say for cutting straight lines?
Thank you! :-) I have never used a jig to cut straight lines or seen one used on a scroll saw. Not to say it hasn't been done, I just haven't seen it.
What a huge difference in quality. Congratulations - I bet you are a very happy camper :) Also, kudos for not being one of those idiot UA-camrs who think it is cool to make a show of throwing the manual over their shoulder saying that they never read instructions. Drives me nuts!! 🤬🤬🤪😂😂 These are the same people who make a big show of telling you to wear masks, glasses, ear protection etc but then don't think it's a good idea to recommend reading the instructions on a new power tool so as to protect yourself and your investment... Sorry for the rant :) But it was just so nice to see someone be reasonable for once. It must be an age thing as I must be at least twice as old than most of the people I follow hahaha Enjoy your new scroll saw 👏👏👏👏
Thank you for the nice compliment. I happen to think that there is a lot of great information in the owners manual. I keep them all for future reference. Thanks for watching!
exactly what I was looking for this information about calibrating the miter SAVED my of worries thx so much
So glad it was helpful!
Thanks guys! You just saved my marriage!
Glad to hear it. Our work is done here! 😉
This video gave me the final push to pull the trigger on the WEN 3921...a family friend requested a couple nested nativity sets, so that's sufficient reason to get a new tool! Your video on the scroll saw nativity set was my intro to your channel - so you've really helped me out this morning! Now to get some chocolate covered almonds and schedule that watch party...
Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your introduction to using a scrolls saw. And thanks for watching the channel. :-)
Needed this 👍! And after all these years, just noticed the little wrench screwdriver doohickey.
I am glad it was helpful!
Super appreciate this video. Idk here’s five bucks lol
Wow! That is so kind. I am glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your support of Homeatyle Wood Crafts.
other than amazon, where do you get the router bits for the dremel?
I know you can get them at Home Depot and I imagine at similar stores like Lowes.
Ok, now show us for inside cuts
The original hardware on my WEN scroll saw made it virtually impossible to loosen the top end of the blade to do interior cuts. I came up with an adaptation to accomplish interior cuts. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/R-IyvGjKkuU/v-deo.html Still a bit clunky but an improvement. WEN also sells adaptors that are an even better improvement. Good luck.
Anyone else go straight to Amazon and order painter pyramids after watching this? lol
Lol!
@@HomestyleWoodCrafts Not because the video was bad just to clarify, I was just too lazy lol =D
How many hours of cutting do you think you cut before you had to change the blade?
Besides telling you that I work at a hobbyist level and that it probably wasn't a lot, I couldn't say because I didn't keep track.
My saw only came with one as aw connector and the other sanding tools they cheated me
Sorry to hear it. I bought mine at Costco and sometimes their stuff comes with a lot of accessories.
Thank you! As a single mom having to be my own handywoman around my house, your video was very helpful 🙂 I needed to replace a rusty garbage disposal and this tool cut them screws quick! Happy Friday ya'll from Corpus Christi, TX 😊
Awesome! I am glad it was helpful.
Hello. I watch your video many times and I have learned a lot I have a question for you. I have a Dewalt 713 miter saw (10 inch ). I got it brand new. I square the blade to the fence and I also make sure the blade is perpendicular to the surface of the saw. I have also joined and planed my piece and it is square on all four sides. I put my piece against the fence of miter saw and I do my cut. Two sides of the cut are as square as it comes but the other two sides are totally out of square. Do you have any suggestions? I appreciate your input.
Hard to say without seeing the process in action. If it were me, I would reexamine my steps from end to beginning to ensure I was doing everything correctly. I had a similar issue with my table saw once. I was sure everything was square, but reexamined my set up and found a small problem. Good luck!
Absolutely love my Pegas Scroller. I use it a few times a week and I have had a lot of fun with it and made some money as well. I bought an aftermarket light for it--must have. My blower has weakened after a couple of years and does not stay in place very well so that is annoying. I even cut metals with it and I have been very pleased with the ease of blade change and smoothness of the machine. Im sure you will enjoy yours.
on the end of the flex shaft is a black collar you can remove. would you know what thread that is?
Sorry. I don't know.
I got this to mostly cut & shape thin Brass sheeting [0.10” & thinner] What type of blade can I get that would work best for Cutting that Brass? Any suggestions I appreciate! Thanks! Lee☯️
I don't have any personal experience with this. Google Pegas scroll saw blade chart. Find an image of it and it has recommendations for cutting metal. Perhaps it will have a recommendation that will meet your need.
You are clearly delighted by your purchase and your pig turned out just perfect! Can’t wait to see what you make next.
I am very happy with my new saw. Thanks for watching!
Stakes for wooden halloween DIY decorations! Use 6. 😉 I had been watching some wood tombstone tutorials and all the ones I saw gloss over making the stakes. Great video! Love that you provide options.
Glad it was helpful!
That one is on my "To Get" list.
I am loving it!
Congrats! Enjoy your new saw. I'll be curious to hear what you think after you've used it for a bit. It looks awesome.
Thank you! So far loving it!
3:44 at least its not $9.90
Not sure anyone’s going to get this, but I just bought this rigid sander and it is very nice but when it runs, the belt sander seems to vibrate more than I think it should be. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the belt sander vibrating a lot as it Spins and oscillates?
I haven't. Sorry you have having some difficulty.
@ I appreciate the response, sir 👍
HI what do you have your miter saw set at? I tried cutting some today at 45 on mine i found the center point but had trouble after that on how far down the wood to go thank you
I don't have a setting documented. Just a bit of trial and error, I am afraid. I also didn't worry about it too much for my purposes because I was going to be pounding it into the ground.
what's the max diameter? Can I cut 12 inch circles?
It would be close. The radius of the cut is about 5 3/4 to 6 inches.
And this is why I will never get my saw squared up…. lol. Just need to buy more caulk for the miter cuts! 😂
haha!
Great video! This is a really nice overview for those of us unfamiliar with scroll saws. It was very helpful (and funny). Thanks!
I am so glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
