I never comment on videos, but after watching 1000's of explainer videos, I want you to know I found yours one of the best. Simple, to the point, great shots and explanations. Thumbs up and Subscribed. Thank you.
I can't even come up with the words right now how much this video just helped me. Thank you for posting this video, you got my like and subscribe, thank you very much 🇺🇲🇮🇱
Thank you for this straight forward tutorial! I'm new to scroll sawing and I think the blade that came installed on my Wen is too thick for the wood I'm using, so it's bouncing all over. I wanted to swap it out with a thinner blade and now I know how.
I really want to get a scroll saw. Videos like this are great for learning about the saw before I get one. I had no idea there were two types of blades. Now I do. Thanks!
Thank you for uploading this. I just received my WEN 3921 and had to call them for the pin that allows the adapter to hang on. Apparently, someone else needed it worse than I did. Smh. Thank you for clarifying video
Thank you, thank you. Just purchased a Wen saw. It came with a bag of blade holders. So confused, you explained this so clearly and now I clearly understand what I am looking at.
Wonderful. I've just purchased a scroll saw ... GIANTZ brand. I don't know how this brand shapes up but I'm working to a budget. Your video was a huge help. I've been making wooden lures for a few years now and have done all the shaping with Stanley knife and dremel. Really looking forward to using the saw. Have subscribed. Thank you.
I got this to mostly cut & shape thin Brass sheeting [0.10” & thinner] What type of blade can I get that would work best for Cutting that Brass? Any suggestions I appreciate! Thanks! Lee☯️
I don't have any personal experience with this. Google Pegas scroll saw blade chart. Find an image of it and it has recommendations for cutting metal. Perhaps it will have a recommendation that will meet your need.
In order to accommodate the pin in the pin end blade, those blades will be wider. These are easy to install, but you can make as fine of cuts with them. The pinless blades are better for making small interior cuts.
Hi James. Finally cut out my first couple of lure shapes. Two blades came with the saw, a pinned and a plain. The attachments for using the plain blade are the same as yours. However when using the plain blade there is severe vibration. Not so with the pinned blade. I tension them equally. Any thoughts. Thanks. Warren.
Good news about your lures! Can't say I get more vibration with one blade type than the other. I do get a fair amount of vibration with both types, but I chalk that up to it being an entry level saw.
Is this the same for the 3921? How are blade changes if you need to put the blade through a drilled hole in the workpiece to cut out a shape from inside, e.g. a circle? That's my only concern with the Wen since the arm doesn't pivot open.
Yes, I think it is the same. I believe the 3920 is the older version of the 3921. Switching out pinless blades is a pretty clunky process. I came up with a tip to make it easier and smoother to facilitate what you are describing. If you are interested, then you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/R-IyvGjKkuU/v-deo.html WEN has also come up with adaptors that I think will work on both the 3920 and 3921 you can install to make pinless blade changes easier. I have purchased them, but not yet tried them. You can watch this video on the sdgood youtube channel to learn more: ua-cam.com/video/6cRuS3jloMM/v-deo.html&feature=share&si=ELPmzJkDCLju2KnD5oyZMQ Good luck and thanks for watching!
The original hardware on my WEN scroll saw made it virtually impossible to loosen the top end of the blade to do interior cuts. I came up with an adaptation to accomplish interior cuts. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/R-IyvGjKkuU/v-deo.html Still a bit clunky but an improvement. WEN also sells adaptors that are an even better improvement. Good luck.

I can’t tell you how helpful this video is!! I bought the Wen scroll saw and the instructions don’t say anything about changing a pinless blade. :) :)

New to scroll sawing. What is the purpose for each blade? Why would I need to change to the latter one you showed?
