Yoga classes thoughtfully designed for niche groups of people to practice along to safely. Currently offering gentle classes that are post-concussion friendly. More to come soon!
Yoga for Grief
Yoga for grief is an all levels 60 minute heart and hip opening slow flow. This class was designed to gently target two of the biggest areas of the body that can start to feel tight and stuck when we are processing grief.
For trauma sensitivity, this class only acknowledges grief at the beginning and at the end so that you can access more presence, tapping into your breath and body for the class.
For trauma sensitivity, this class is also silent. If music is helpful to you, please feel free to play your own music along to this.
Grief is nonlinear. Feel free to come back to this class any time you need to. Feedback, so that I can create more classes for this niche is always appreciated.
Namaste.

Thank you for your post mastectomy videos. Had mine last week. Feels good following your videos. Similar to my yoga teacher with the emphasis on the breathing. Namaste from Malaysia.
So grateful to have stumbled across this series of classes! You even provided time for eye exercises! I usually have to pause the yoga video if I want to work those in ❤ I can’t wait to see what you do next-thank you!
Technical question: in the exercise where we bring our finger closer and further from our eyes, are we meant to have our eyes unfocused such that the splitting occurs, or for the finger (foreground) to be the object in focus (such that the splitting doesn't really occur when it gets closer and closer)?
Good question! We want to try to focus on the finger for as long as we can, and the moment it starts to split into two fingers we pause and restart, extending the arm away once again. This exercise is to help strengthen convergence insufficiency, as issues with focusing properly on one object, especially as it gets closer can arise with a concussion, especially if the concussion occurred against the occipital lobe (the back of the head). I hope this helps!
Grateful for the exercises! It is being a process of rebirth and evolution ❤ Thank you!!! ❤ With love, Sara
I am grateful for these exercises and tips. I am improving everyday! With love, from Portugal ❤
Maybe the caregiver could just hold your legs up, because getting into a position that close to a wall when using your arms is very painful would be nearly impossible.
Thankyou so much for your beautiful yoga videos. They are so empowering for the body as well as the mind. You truely are a blessing. Namaste xx

The ads are seriously annoying if you have noise sensitivity. Maybe put them in the beginning or the end or give us a warning
Thank you 🙏 I had a smx a few days ago, having done yoga for a number of years I was so pleased to come across this video, as following the sheet of exercises from breast cancer care was a little boring and I wanted to put some breathing etc into what I was doing and just couldn’t work my head around it, so this works perfectly 🙏 🧘🏻♀️ ❤
You are a blessing!! Gabor Mate should help promote this.
This is so helpful!! ❤
This is awesome! Thank you Laura & team. I had a mastectomy in sep 23 and my daughter Zoé aka Babytattz sent me your serie. It is helping me tremendously. :) And kudos to all the fighters out there taking control of their healing! We got this!
Aw, thank you for the kind words, Julie! I'm so glad these videos have been of service to you during your recovery. Also, haha, I wish I had a team - it's just me doing all the things. They take a lot of time and energy to create, so I am so glad to hear they are beneficial. 🙏 Also, Zoe is awesome! You have a wonderful daughter. 💖
@@treeingyoga Well then, you are doing a fabulous job! :) Yes, Zoé is an amazing woman! I am a very proud mama!
Thank you for this series! I'm 7 weeks post surgery and still have a lot of swelling and feel "behind" in my recovery...then I remember last week how I couldn't even lay flat on my back, but today I could! Building strength each day. Your videos have helped keep my breath calm through the process. 💓

youre really amazing Laura!
I've had both a lobectomy and mastectomy, one on each side. Ive done yoga for many years. This recovery sequence has been great for progress of both, both physically and emotionally. Thank you!
I am so glad to hear this, thank you so much for letting me know! <3
Thank you for this practice! It is exactly what I needed today and it was so helpful in calming my anxiety and slight dizziness after a mild head and neck concussion from snowboarding.
This was fabulous. Absolutely relaxing and helpful...until the adds started disrupting the peace. It's jarring to have a relaxing experience interrupted like that. I ended up recording the audio editing out the adds. So, I will still do the session, but without the adds because it is so helpful.
Thank you for telling me about the ads! I thought none of my videos had ads, as I opted out of that, but maybe UA-cam changed something. I'll look into it!
Thank you so much for doing this. I look forward to doing class lately and recover mobility. The most important is that I feel great doing this…
Hello this was such a nice exercise. I’m still in my hospital bed and am having terrible time sleeping this exercise helped to slow my heart rate down praise God!
I'm so glad! Wishing you a full recovery!!
Thank you. I’ve been given yoga for balance as my PT exercises for my concussion recovery. Your videos are perfect. No inversions. Just calm progressive postures for my body and brain to work through together during healing. The eye exercises are also PT exercises so I get to do both at the same time. Thank you for being part of my recovery.
Thank you for letting me know! Wishing you a full recovery! Just out of curiosity, did your PT suggest my videos?
Dealing with after-concussion-symptoms, so glad I found your TBI series; it is the first thing I do every single morning ( after making some tea) :)
Honoured to be a part of your current morning routine!! 💓 Wishing you a full recovery 🙏
Hello Laura! Love your TBI yoga. I have a Q about the twist in yoga 1, class 3 @ 23 min: If the left leg is crossing the right thigh, is the spinal twist to the right? I thought it was to the left? Or could you do it both ways?
It can be done both ways! One is a closed twist, the other is an open twist. Fun fact: open twists are safe for pregnancy too!
Thank you so much! Laura! ❤️ I had my mastectomy done 4 days ago, as an active person, it was killing me that I couldn’t do anything! Then I found you! ❤️ Love your energy! And I couldn’t help but look at your cat! Adorable! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so glad! Wishing you a full recovery <3. Haha, and yeah, Ares was pretty adamant about being in this class!
Thank u I'm 2 months post op top surgery & these videos helped me feel more attune to my body.
Hi Laura, I just did Level 1 Class 01 and I feel good! It might be the exact thing I have been looking for, no joke. I had a massive concussion , more than a year ago. First I just kept going with painkillers untill I completely collapsed about three weeks after the incident. Had a CAT scan which showed significant brain swelling. I received a bunch of Cranio-Sacral treatments which helped a lot with healing, also I really stopped basically everything in my normal life: no work, no socializing, no excercise... At a certain point I started feeling better and was craving for some physical excercise. Gentle walks and such. But as soon as I tried my regular exercise class I got intense headaches again. I went through a cycle of trying something until it gave me headaches, stopping until I felt better... etc. FINALLY I feel confident that I can safely move my body and build up my physical and mental confidence again. THANK YOU
Thank you for posting the specific yoga for TBI ! You have no idea how many setbacks I experienced since my concussion in 2021. Did too much too soon…
Hello Camilla, I was wondering what sorts of things you felt you did too soon after your concussion? I recently had a concussion a week and a half ago and I am concerned I am doing too much too soon. I find it is hard to gage and difficult to navigate through the recovery process on my own. I am taking things moment by moment. I wonder if I have been online too much... still suffering headaches.... Here's to your full recovery - and mine too - and all the people who are suffering from TBI. Hoping this yoga practice might help me get more active again. All good wishes, Monique 🙏🌱✨
@@moniquesliedrecht397 Hello Monique, My biggest mistake was to keep running around as if nothing had happened. I had a constant headache, ringing in my ears and my balance was off so I kept bumping into things. To be honest, I was so messed up that I couldn't think straight and somehow thought I had to keep going my normal pace... I took painkillers every day but the headaches hardly diminished. After two or three weeks I completely collapsed; my legs just gave out, and I finally went to see my doctor. I got a brain scan and it showed significant swelling of the brain. ( Thank God no blood clots.) My doctor was upset with me because I should have rested immediately and keep quiet ( lots of naps, eyes closed, no screens or reading) directly after the concussion. Many treatments with a Cranio-Sacral therapist helped me a lot and an amazing Chiropracter used laser and a Bemer, which also made a huge positive impact. I am now 15 months after the accident and I still need more quiet time and cannot be in busy places with lots of people or noise because I still will get overwhelmed and tired. I am not complaining; I feel just like a changed person.. in a way I used this all to become more introspective... Good luck Monique!!
Thank you SO much for these videos.
Great video! Been recovering from a concussion for over a year now and it's hard to find yoga videos that are ''just right'' - this is it!!! Not too much talking and time to breathe in positions. Thank you! <3
I'm so glad! The slow pace and room for silence is completely intentional in all my PCS/TBI yoga classes. <3
I just had a breast reduction last Monday! Thank you sooo much for this gentle practice.
My pleasure! I'm glad you found my practices!
I recently had a double mastectomy and your series of videos have helped my recovery tremendously. Thank you!
Thank you for this. I had a concussion a month ago and still deal with the aftermath. Normal exercise for me is too intense for me atm. But doing this yoga session helped me a lot to relax and slowly getting better.
Might be a reach as this comment is old but have you gotten better since ? Sending good energy your way 🙏🏼🫶🏼
this is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much.
Hi! I was wondering, when you say "week 1", do you mean "the week immediately after your surgery" or "as of 1 week after surgery"?
Start one week after surgery!
@@treeingyoga woops, i didn't see this comment in time... i don't think it was super clear to me in the way it was communicated and i did the week 1 video 4 days post op and the week 2 as of 1 week post op... I'm worried i stretched out my scars now... Anyway it's my fault for not waiting for an answer but just letting you know!
@@elianet.2518 I clarified this in the video description, thanks for your feedback!
Thank you so so much. Been struguling with concussion symptoms for over 3 months I'm very happy to have found this.
Thank you for an amazing TBI yoga Work out! This is the best 1 I have found. Your calm and slow voice is just what my TBI brain needs. Please make more. Maybe add a neuro tag as MS or stroke recovery would benefit too. I am so thankful for your work you've shared.
Great idea with the tag additions, thank you! And I'm so glad you are enjoying these classes. Wishing you a thorough recovery!
Exactly what I needed post top surgery, thank you! You are a pro at ignoring your cat doing cat stuff 😂
What is the best time for yoga? Is it advisable to have yoga daily?
Thank you so much for this series, it is exactly what I need while recovering from concussion and dealing with chronic vestibular symptoms and migraines.
I have just finished your class, I feel amazing, a kitchen cupboard hit me on my head beg of match, I still have concussion, shooting pains in head now and then ringing and buzzing in the ear. I will be doing your video on a daily basis to help with my recovery, Thank you again for your video, you are aporicated🙏🏽
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear that, Sophia, though I am glad that you found this class so restorative. Wishing you a full recovery!! <3
@@treeingyoga Thankyou so much💚
this is wonderful, thank you
I had my first mastectomy two years ago, and my second one on the 13th. Thank you so much for creating these videos! I missed being able to do yoga the first time around, and am so grateful to have a practice I can do now. :)
Oh my heart! I hope these practices serve you along your healing journey, Sarah! Wishing you a full recovery! <3
Thanks for this practice. It was very soothing!
Super cute Kitty😊❤️
Thank you
thanks heaps for so generously making yourself available in this most wholesome way Laura; aho mitakuye oyasin
My pleasure, thank you so much for the kind words.
I'm so grateful to have found this. I've laid in bed for 3 days after realizing that I was not going to be over a concussion in less than a week. Today my goal is to stay awake all day because my body hurts from laying in bed. I did both class 1 and 2, might be overkill, but my body feels so much better after these 2 classes.
I'm so glad to provide a resource. Wishing you a full recovery. Rest well, and don't push yourself too hard!
I 100% feel the same way I've been in bed for days and now my body is angry and after doing the first class I immediately felt so much better and was hoping to find a comment seeing if anyone else did two classes back to back thank you.
@@thecurator9888 how long did it take you to recover ? i cant even do the exercises in the yoga my body is so tired and weak:(
