  • Welcome to Lv 1, Class 01 of the Post-Concussion yoga series. Level 1 is the most gentle practice, designed to help you get in touch with your breath, get a stretch in, and do some eye exercises. It can even be done in the comfort of your own bed if you prefer.
    Please take each practice mindfully, and pause at any point if you need to.
    If you have any feedback I would love to hear from you. I look forward to building and sharing more classes in the future. Namaste.

    You are God sent! Going on 5 months of struggling with post consussion syndrome after a TBI. I flew across country for the first time last week and all the progress I had made felt like it flew out of the window. This was so helpful. Looking forward to implementing this into my daily routine. All the best to you & Happy Holidays. :)

    Thank you so much, since my accident three weeks ago, it felt as if my body was not mine anymore. This class helped me to gently connect to my spine, moving it in all directions. And this is wonderful. I am a yogateacher but feel so so so far away from my body, very bewildering. So you helped me a lot today. I was able to create space in breathing. This is going to accompany me for the next weeks. I am confident it will become better. Thank you for sharing this with the world!

      good luck with your recovery - i had an accident 10 years ago and did not get any help from doctors - today i had a mis-hap because of concussion syndrome and so here i am trying to figure out how to help my self. These pelvic stretches i can know the benefit of - there is something about a head injury that 'tightens us ' against further danger but impedes healing. it's a trick to balance.

      @@treeingyoga Exactly! These excercises do make you feel powerful. Not only talking physical strenght but you mainly have to feel powerful on your mind. To be powerful to control your thoughts and drive them to a good place no matter the situation. And most importanlty be patient with yourself and others. Cause patience is such a key thing not only for this recovery proccess but for life in general. And that's something these classes are so helpful for. Imma keep up with the rest of videos now! 🧘‍♂️

    My doctor recommended me yoga, because I have both concussion and Tietzes - and also a chronic hip injury. I was a bit sceptical, I usually like "faster" sports, and when I first watched this yesterday without doing the exercises, just to get a picture of what it was like, I fell asleep... ;) But now when I actually did the exercises I must say it was fantastic! And really good for ALL my aching body parts and very very relaxing. The 45 minutes felt like 20 and I want to do this every day. (Can I do it every day? :)) I will do the whole series (step by step of course) and I'm so greatful that you posted this! THANK YOU!

    This has been the best thing I was able to find after the head injury. Thank you so much for everything you do.
    I have a question: how long would you recommend to practice at level 1 before moving on to level 2? I was never an advanced yogi, but I've practiced more or less regularly at the beginning/intermediate level prior to the injury. I would appreciate your advice.
    I am not sure if you have noticed that the rotation of left leg around 26 min. is not repeated on the right side (no big deal at all, I just stop the video and repeat it myself, mention it just in case you have not noticed), and when you say "make your way on your back", I think you mean "lay on your belly". I may be wrong, the video is great in every way, and I am looking forward to move along with you to more advance stages, to the point of complete recovery. Best wishes to you.

    • @treeingyoga
      @treeingyoga  3 роки тому

      I'm so glad!! I'm no doctor, but I do recommend listening to your body. If you feel you're ready to move on, give level two a try. Worst case, you stop or modify the practice by taking longer breaks if you need to slow down. :)

  • @adamchanes1206
    @adamchanes1206 Місяць тому

    Technical question: in the exercise where we bring our finger closer and further from our eyes, are we meant to have our eyes unfocused such that the splitting occurs, or for the finger (foreground) to be the object in focus (such that the splitting doesn't really occur when it gets closer and closer)?

    • @treeingyoga
      @treeingyoga  Місяць тому +1

      Good question! We want to try to focus on the finger for as long as we can, and the moment it starts to split into two fingers we pause and restart, extending the arm away once again. This exercise is to help strengthen convergence insufficiency, as issues with focusing properly on one object, especially as it gets closer can arise with a concussion, especially if the concussion occurred against the occipital lobe (the back of the head). I hope this helps!
