The worst guitar gear I've ever used
Remember, this is subject to taste. It's just an honest opinion. ;)
Over the last 20 years, I've played a multitude of different guitars, amps and pedals. Some of it was great, some wasn't. Some was plain bad guitar gear. Here's a rather candid take on gear that I didn't like.

And I thought Guitar Pedals were not for me!
Переглядів 2 тис.21 день тому
Some guitar players are pedal players, some aren't. I belong to the latter. Still, some guitar pedals (Keeley, Browne Amplification, JHS Pedals) are keepers, because they are fun to play and add something to my playing, without adding something to my guitar tone. Tested: Silver Jubilee is the best Marshall amp (I dimed it)
Переглядів 5 тис.Місяць тому
The best Marshall amp ever - could that be said about the Marshall Silver Jubilee? It is used by guitar players with great tone - Joe Bonamassa, Slash, John Frusciante and others. Most guitar playes reduce the Marshall Silver Jubilee amplifier to its lead channel. However, this Marshall amp has so many different guitar tones in it, it's easy to say it's at least a very underrated Marshall amp. ...
How to get good Telecaster Tone (Best Amps + Pedals)

Good Telecaster tone - that's always a tough task for guitar players. In my experience, guitarists need to start with the basic fundamentals of good Telecaster tone - solid guitar/amp combinations as well as considerations regarding guitar pedals that fit the frequencies of the typical Telecaster tone. Greetings from Nova Scotia Canada first of all let me start with your much deserved Congratulations! I literally just came across your channel today after being on a huge Steve Lukathur kick and searching for videos of the “Running with the night” solos in it read the title & thought of my own achievements in guitar music over the years and the curiosity of what would it be like made me click I must say that I can definitely understand your thought process regarding the solo although that first 30 seconds is the perfect example of a Nirvana style solo and as soon as you hit that power cord that leads into the real meat of that solo I went from thinking ok where is this going and what cake is this the icing for? (A Zakk Wylde reference to a quote of the solo is just the icing on the cake and his soup recipe references bunched together you’ve got all kinds of flavours and it’s just what ingredients you add to get the final product some recipes need it some don’t sometimes you need vanilla and other times you need chocolate cheesecake) and as soon as you hit that low note and start really playing 1) I agree with Mr. Likathur it’s killer and in todays guitar community being very ego driven and Yngwie like all speed no control and just about showing off something that really builds up and surprises you halfway through really focusing on “the Gilmore effect” putting the emphasis on making each note count and using emotion to add emphasis and using the bait and switch extremely slow & simple buildup is really the difference between impressively complex, fast & technically good solos and great solos and your bravery to push the limits of repetition in the beginning just far enough that it’s a Barr or two away from losing interest right at the moment the tension builds to the braking point and the way you use that to build up to make that change come to a really genius “you have my attention now sir” moment as the solo reaches its climax while not overplaying or underplaying it either isn’t the norm in “todays guitarist” and it’s not exactly easy to walk that line of not enough/too much while going right to the edge without going over it!

I love how these Marshalls are part of the Studio line and meant for studio us where 50 to 100 watt amps are difficult to record at loud volume. 20 watts or even 5 watts are easier to record in the studio at low volumes. I would do more research before you post videos.

I recently tried using volume pedal in effects loop of SV20 and I gotta say, I think the "magic of the tone is overdriving the power stage" is a myth. The crunch still sounds killer at the low range of the volume pedal with the volume on amp around 6. Tone of the gain seems quite similar to when I floor volume pedal.

I've always loved SGs, but not enough to buy one. Instead, I opted for a really great Yamaha SG I got in a trade decades ago. I loved it. I wish I still had it. I'm either going to find one on the used market or get a Guild Polara, which is the best SG "inspired" ax on the market today. The thing about the SG, or SG style guitars is that, unlike a PRS, they don't offer the perfect fusion of a Les Paul and a Strat, the two most popular guitars of all time. The SG is still very popular guitar, but issues like neck dive and tuning stability are probably bigger factors than tone. The tone is great. No, not as thick as an LP, but Tony Iommi and many other players have done a fine job of getting heavy chugging metal from an SG. As I play classic rock, and SG is fine for me, tone wise. Another nice thing about the SG is playability. They are just some of the easiest guitars to play. Maybe I'll change my mind and buy the real deal one day, but not before I buy a Polara.

What a terrible list. By far not the worst three Marshalls. The SV20H is the best amp I’ve ever owned. Sounds better than original JCM 800. Run your pedals through the FX Loop and use the level knobs for desired volume. I play at bedroom volume nearly daily and it sounds great.
