Sounds great, beautiful tone, and that distinctive Marshall crunch, I have a JCM 2000 love it myself. Marshall will always be the big daddy of amplifiers! Great job
Greetings from Germany! Yeah, I've had this feeling before. I got my Marshall 6100LM head around 6 months ago from a used gear ad for like 500€. It sounds amazing and is one of my all time favorite amps. It got Plexi sounds ... JCM800 sounds ... hot rodded sounds ... just an amazing amp!
If my own 1987 built Silver Jubilee ever sounded as good as this one, I never had sold it... Unfortunately it never did. But I also only had the conbo version and this most probably was my mistake. This amp obviously needs a 212 or 412 closed back cabinet to shine, but this anyway every good all-tube Marshall does. Through the single V30 open back it only sounded horribly scratchy and thin, independent of the tone controls. Replaced it with a Crate Vintage Club at this time and was happy with it for a while, meanwhile I returned to Marshall after decades and am happy with my (comparably cheap bought) JMP-1 in combination with either an EL84 or stepless power scalable EL34/KT-77 power amp. Really great tones here!
i had a super lead head back about 1986 and it would constantly blow fuses and sounded like bees , went with an ac30 then a twin since , changed to a hotrod in 2001 which i still have but now i just use a qc , but of late im hankerin for a tone king imperial 11 or a two rock
My main amp is a Marshall JVM410H through a "JCM800" Lead 1960 bottom with G12-75's. Similar story to yours - I was in a band and had a Peavey Ultra 112 combo. Sounded ok at the time (or so I thought). My buddy mentioned that he was looking at the JVM because of how versatile it is. I happened to find one on ebay for $800!
Hi Joey! Love your vids 😊 if you had to choose between the 2555x and the 2525h, both with 2536 cab (2x12 with v30), for bedroom use only, which one would you choose?
Sounds great and you were lucky to get it for that price. If the guy wasn't pushing it hard, the tubes should be fine. It's only when you crank them that the tubes don't last. I had a JCM 800, but it was never as good as the Jubilee my friend had.
You won’t regret it! There were specific jubilees for the Canadian market with different looking power switches. They do exist but finding originals is getting harder and harder.
To me it was the Bogner XTC 101B... Foudn it used for a low price 20 years ago. The only other amp I love and play with now is a BRBS Vintage Class 3+. The BRBS Vintage Class would probably be way enough, but I still wanted 3 channel, even if I use only one channel! :)
In the real world, I'm pretty particular about V30s.. I love them. When recording, I use all sorts of IRs, whatever fits best with the track I'm playing on. In this video it's V30s in the first example, and an Eminence speaker later. Jubilees can be picky with speakers, or at least their overall coloration changes massively with different speakers.
I had a JCM 800 2203 and will likely be purchasing a Silver Jubilee 100 real soon. I personally love the JVM, but to me, the 100-watt SLPs and the Silver Jubilee are the epitomai of the "Marshall Sound." In the UA-cam realm, everyone fawns over the JTM45 when discussing marshalls, especially in the pedal platform world. This is quite an unpopular opinion, but I think the Silver Jubilee and SLP 100 are both vastly superior to the JTM45. The JTM sounds too "Fendery" to me and is simply way too dark.
@@dannyllerenatv8635 I agree 100%. The thing that bugs me the most about JTM45s is how loose and saggy their attack is. Very difficult NOT to play blues on it. It always sounds very soft. With the super lead, came into its own.
@@joeyjooones it’s well known that the JTM is heavily based on the 59 bassman circuit. The problem is, it doesn’t really sound or feel different enough from a bassman. The Marshall sound everyone knows and loves started with the superlead and superbass circuits, not the jtm.
I’ve watched enough amp videos that I don’t usually get too excited, but holy moly, that sounded glorious.

I have the JCM 2000 too. I think a sleeper amp! Love it

Damn killer sound!! Joe Bonamassa live at the Royal Albert Hall sold me on the Silver Jubilee stellar!
Wow . Your playing amazing. Incredible feel. I have just subed
Thanks for the sub!

Cool amp! What ir you use?

What did you use for drum sounds here? Everything sounds great!
Damn man, just finished watching your heartbreaking video about this gem. Hopefully you were able to take it into someone, who has good news 🙏

That’s a steal! Super good.
Man you make me crave for a jubilee now
Haha… that’s how they get ya!

Probably the 2525 because the 2555 will start to sound good at volumes too loud to take 😅

Thats awesome Joey, those amps are non existent in Canada but if one ever comes up I'll be getting it.

Would love to try a BRBS. The XTC is a great amp!
Are you using the EVM12L speakers or an IR of them or something else? Sounds amazing man!

Sounds great, even with the UA-cam compression... It's probably Marshall's most flexible amp.
I agree - super effective EQ.
JVM 410 wants a word😉
Please make a video about load box
Yep
Joey I think a lot of people will be very interested in how u get a 100 watt amp sound so good, how you set it up with loadbox.
Awesome sound. What type of loadbox do you use?
Redseven Amp Central.
@@joeyjooones Cool, I also have the amp central. I love it. Thanks for your respond.
Hey man! I hope I'm not late. I'm from the future. Don't forget to connect this to the load box, or you will blow the output transformer.
hahahaha!
@@joeyjooones Im glad you have good spirits. Have a great day.

@@joeyjooones the jtm is by no means a bad amp and it serves its purpose well. Thing is, it’s not yet a “true Marshall” but rather a precursor
50 or 100 Watt?
Forgot to mention, it's a 2550, so the 50 Watt model.
Jcm 800 is my dream amp I’ll never sell
VHT Pitbull 100CL
I have Silver Jubilee 2525 20W Head. I don't have what it takes to buy the 50W one. I don't want any other amplifier than this one.
Fair enough! Good amp!
