I tried to get into pso2ngs on many different occasions as I loved pso on gamecube. I just can't get into it

Imho, emulation saved this game. Frameskipping, Save states, and perhaps even easy access to cheats help circumvent the near malicious lack of quality of life features of the game. For me, Toyo Ozaki's lore notes also went a long way on capturing my imagination as I played this game a few short years back. I wish Sega would seriously consider giving this game a remake.

The fact that it’s not already rebooted, in HD, with a new class, weapons, level cap (300) and world or episode (5) is.. crazy. Imagine playing it on a handheld like the switch, online. Old and new fans alike would love it. Then once it dies down. (Which would be never) they could drop PSU reboot. I’m already over New Genesis. Feels like “new crap” to me.

For my cast, it was VERY ROUGH. Dealing with the Falzspawns killing his first love, K-X's memories still haunted him even though he managed the transformation very well. Thankfully, he did ended up with a normal life afterwards, but got divorced since his last wife couldn't bear with his issues. However, he did have a daughter and she's living well during the classic series. So yes, Cyborg-based Casts CAN breed. Don't look too much into it.

If they modernize it, it will be shit. They need to keep it somewhat true to the original, make amazing models and graphics and more social features and bigger rooms. The combat is mostly fine, with enhancements. The problem with pso2 is it's too much, they added too much and it's clumsy and just nowhere near as good because of it.

Forgive me, does the game still suck?

How does a ribbon travel through time and whos Idea was it to take that said ribbon and use the foreign DNA scraps on it to make an entire new race...what were those scientists smoking?

The pso2 global page just posted a video of them stacking up pso1 copies. No context, no information on why, etc. This might actually happen!

Casra predicted that there would be social movement to put an end to Photon research in Oracle, and the Guardian might be a victim of said movement.

Loved this game as a kid. Mostly because of the music. As a European, I'm still kinda salty/baffled that Chrono Trigger wasn't officially released here until 2009.

Great video! The original PS series is my favorite RPG series. I wish we'd get a classically inspired PS5.

I squealed when Gal Gryphon’s theme started to play during the first half of the July update video. I’ve been wanting Gryphon to show back up for awhile now. I’m hoping it sticks around as a regular enemy after the event ends. I assume that’s what that Drill quest will be that we get trigs for; at least I hope it does.

PSU remaster now Sega! I want different planets to visit just like PSU had but more with enhanced graphics.

im hyped for the whole roadmap. but im uneasy with the fact that there is no story updates announced , i hope we get surprise updates at least in mini episodes format. PS: get ready to play card games mounting Rappies

I'd like to thank HMZK for endlessly draining all my care for PSO2 since he pushed NGS as the future of the game, where scratch tickets and limited events are the entire focus and story continues to take a backseat behind any other ideas the rest of the team work on

Additionally, regarding story, roadmap already skips M.A.R.S related story sequence mentioned by Kimura in Dengeki Interview. So guess we will see when the time comes c: But it kinda leads me to speculate story was not included in the roadmap because we are not getting Story Quests, but instead, probably Task Driven Story, Short-CutScenes, Mini-Episodes and the sorts o: (Chapter 6 Treatment; which only got Story Quests at the start and its end; although they did not name what we got recently as "part 1"; so who knows. guess we will see).

That August/September block is one of the most packed segments I've seen in ages. At least Gal Gryphon becomes a trigger after, where it'll stick around. It also seems like Malevolent Aegis is becoming something of an anniversary event quest, returning with higher levels and more up-to-date drops. (Tbf, this is with a sample size of 2). I hope the MARS system makes me enjoy the Crimson Realm more because I genuinely don't care for it as it is now. Even if it doesn't though, I'm surprised we're hearing about expanded areas in Stia after all this time. :D Masq is easily one of my favorite bosses... basically ever. :D I want to know what they're thinking on story too, since there just wasn't a story section on the roadmap (as opposed to an empty one). The MARS system is supposed to come with a bit of story to explain it when it launches. I'd leave a pheedback on the need for info on story plans at this point, but Azr beat me to it, and hit pretty much every point I would have made already. Guess we'll see if they have a response to that eventually.

One thing that's not in the roadmap but they did mention when explaining, is that for October - November update, Stia Exploration sectors will be expanded o: (Some of the region that was previously unreachable will now be reachable o:). Rumor has it Stia / Chapter 4 Update was originally going to be bigger after all o:

Interesting that the Gal Gryphon is back as a Ruinus... Which has some interesting implications for it in the PSO2 lore over-all. Ruinus are stated to be made from Falspawn, but without a complete genome, it's hard to say how accurate they are. I initially thought the Gryphons were native to Harukotan, but that it's back as a Ruinus means it may not have been, and was actually a Falspawn? Just what the heck was Luther doing? Why would such a big bird type Falspawn be on Harukotan?.. New mysteries to be sure... I wonder if we'll get answers?.. As for the story not being mentioned... It would be an awful long time to go without a story update, especially since we just got part 1 of Chapter 7... Could it be they're not mentioning when they plan to release story updates so they don't put themselves under too much pressure and can give the story the time it needs to be as well written as Ch. 7 Pt. 1 was? And when it's ready, that's when they'll release each part to possibly surprise us? My thinking to this is that there's some mystery collabs in the roadmap, usually they say what it is even if just vaguely. To be placing "?"s in there either says they haven't fully nailed it down, or they're trying to really keep us guessing. That and there's gaps in collabs too, HIGHLY irregular. I do think we'll be getting story updates when they're ready as based on what I've researched, base PSO2 is the exception where the level cap is 100 and the game is "finished" there. This despite the final boss having a level 200 version and no way for players to close the gap now. I kind of doubt they'll end NGS so soon with the story ramping up as it is. True, the rumor of a successor to PSO2 and PSO2 NGS being in development is still out there, but when I first heard of it about last year, the rumor said NGS has 5 years left. That's a lot of time still, and it's not often that a gap in the PSO series is greater than a year or two, even if the game doesn't go global. We'll just have to wait and see though.

No new Story Quest in the roadmap 😓

My theory is the giant Clarissa thing is a monument. The Nameless City is on an ARKS ship or something like it, and the Clarissa looking model is some kind of memorial to remember the heroism of ARKS past or something. Clarissa was very important to the story after all I could see Matoi's weapon becoming something of a symbol. Our PC is the only one who might be more famous but since our weapon of choice is variable, it's easier to use one from an NPC.

I logged into NGS for the first time in a year just to check things out. It was PACKED! That said people apparently aren't here because PSONGS is good, they are here because everything else is worse. Apparently the gatcha games aren't doing it for a lot of people. I don't mind that it is limited time it's just that they aren't doing much permanent stuff. Would really like them to make new concerts... god I miss those. New Aelio areas... can you believe it's been almost 2 YEARS since stia. They so many mostly unused areas too. I miss the space station aesthetic of OG PSO2. Least you can still pop into PSO2. Despite it being deserted compared to NGS I love that it is still running. They really didn't have to keep it on. They have that rockin music replacing the main theme right now too. Just wish they rotated all the old concerts.

The best news that anyone at Sega can give us is that they're scrapping NGS and going back to just base PSO2.

Oh yeah... the Wingard drops... I got lucky to have one after 13 clears of Planetcrusher Blitz, but it wasn't for a class I play on regular basis, and I ended up selling it, but after that, no Wingards at all (only way too many Reyar and Xovers), in any case, only the future will tell us what's to come.

Like the flexibility with the M.A.R.S. system. That adds a lot more to it. Having any sort of voucher system should make it easy for them to place Line Strike cards into whatever content they need to push at the moment, so that should be effective as long as they use it well. 3 same-card limit is the same as in Ep.3, but nice to hear this time there's a recycle for the extras.

Very interesting this M.A.R.S system. I look forward to using it.

I have spammed uq and i still haven't gotten a single wingard no matter how many drop rate buffs i used. But come on thirty plus uq and still no drop. None from the quiz either.
