- It’s no secret that Sega has been a name on the lips of gamers for several decades now. As of 2004, they exist under the name of Sega Sammy Holdings. We’re all familiar with the story of Sega’s humble beginnings to their rise to prominence with Sonic the Hedgehog to their exit from the home console market. But, what about Sammy? No, not a particular fox Vtuber and friend of the channel. Where do they fit in? Who exactly are they, and what’s their claim to fame?
Sammy Corporation was founded in 1975 by current Sega Sammy chairman Hajime Satomi as Sammy Industry. The name stemmed from his nickname of “Sammy” at the time. Satomi attended Aoyama Gakuin University, a private Christian university in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, but dropped out around the time he started the company. Sammy was an entertainment division of Satomi Corporation, which was his family’s food business.

those laws might be the reason why we arent seeing a casino anytime soon in ngs. I mean it would make sense.
Not really sure since casino coins in base PSO2 had no ties to anything that could be obtained with real-world money. I think that may just be them not wanting to invest the amount of dev time that could go towards other things.
Thanks for the information. I understood quite a bit about Sega's history, but Sammy was always this strange company that put out Viewpoint to me and made a strange PC fishing game my dad brought home that one time.
Oh wow that's pretty wild. The only game of theirs that I had back in the day was Vice Project Doom. Looking back, I'm surprised that game got a Nintendo Power cover. Thanks for watching, brotha! ^^
